I'm just getting started with quilting, and love it, although I've been sewing for 40 years. And I'd never tried applique before this winter. I guess it's kinda like gravy - you have to go slow and constant to get the lumps out! My puppy won't even sleep on my previous attempt! lol I would LOVE (and desperately need) your advice and instructions.

I like the stitching part of applique but have trouble with the turning under smoothly before stitching. Would love the book and would be sure to gain lots of info from it.

I love doing applique but dont know how to make it look like its suppose to..mine since I am self taught if you want to call it that.. looks horrible so Kay I could use some of your guidance and knowledge..

Applique is fun and can give you absolutely beautiful results.  It is great that a book has come out to give alternatives to the standard patterns - your designs are limitless with the ability to create from the basic pieces.  I would like to add this one to my library.

I have done applique but am not very good but I still love applique quilts. I have to tell you a story about my sister. She decided she was going to start quilting and wanted a Hawaiian quilt. I told her not to start there but no she was going to do it. Bought fabric, needles, patterns and book on it. Calls me to ask how to do everything. After about 3 weeks of trying to do it she bought the fabric, etc to me and said she did not want to ever see that fabric again. In secret I have been trying to applique it but not doing to good.
