In spring of 2008 I had the honor and immense pleasure of travelling to Williamsburg, Virginia with videographer Ivan Machiz and Jean Nolte, editor of Love of Quilting to shoot an episode for Love of Quilting on PBS. Windham Fabrics had created a reproduction fabric line using the Williamsburg archives as their design source. We got to retrace the steps taken while visiting some of the shop keepers and tradesmen in the village. What and experience!

I submitted the show for an award and sure enough, it won a bronze Telly award!

Williamsburg Basket is a beautiful quilt, made with the reproduction line. You can watch how to make the quilt with Marianne and Liz on epsiode 1209 of Love of Quilting. And you can see the trip to Williamsburg, including the behind-the-scenes peek into the treasures in the textile archives in episode 1208, in gorgeous high definition. (Forget sports and action--quilts are the reason for HD!) Buy the DVD in the Fons & Porter shop.
