Our Quilt Market episode of Quilt Out Loud! is now up in its entirety on QNNtv.com. We will leave it up both as a complete show and in the three sets of two segments each. This way you can watch it all at once, or in smaller bites.

Thanks to Patrick Lose for jumping in and helping out with the hosting. It was really the first time he has been on camera. Not an easy feat!

Watch the Second Set of Segments of Quilt Out Loud!

Amid the hubbub of setup day at International Quilt Market, Jodie meets Kelly Laws at the Baby Lock booth to learn about an intriguing new machine she’d heard about. Using just one thread in the bobbin, the Sashiko machine mimics the look of hand sewing, like that of traditional Japanese hand stitching or hand quilting. Kelly puts the Sashiko machine through its paces. You will find a free pattern for a Sashiko wall hanging on the Quilt Out Loud! Web site.

Quilt Market doesn’t end when the show floor closes. Business moves to other locations. The place to be after hours during Quilt Market is the Hyatt bar, so Jodie and Patrick head there to see who they might run into. As they sat down with her, Heidi Kaisand, National Sales Manager for APQS, was just getting her meal after travelling to Houston and then working all day to set up the booth—and it was after 9 PM! Designer and author Kay Caps Cross and the Fons & Porter team all chatted with Jodie and Patrick, telling them what they do on those long days at Market.

Extra Thursday Means Extra Videos

Normally our airing plan for Quilt Out Loud! is to put up new videos each Thursday. With the usual four Thursdays in a month, this works out perfectly. We make the six segments go live two segments at a time for the first three Thursdays, then the full episode on the fourth Thursday.

With an extra Thursday in October we put up two extra videos-we didn't want our viewers to be QOL-less! You'll find an update from my little cotton patch, and an informative-turned silly video from the Aurifil booth at Spring International Quilt Market.

In the last QNNtv.com newsletter I challenged viewers to write to me, telling me who "il toro" is in the video. The first person to get an e-mail in my inbox with the correct answer would win an autographed book. Mary Hilton answered Alex Veronelli correctly. I'll be getting the book in the mail to you today Mary!
