Labeling quilts.

Can anyone give me the abc's of labeling a quilt? I do not have a machine that does lettering so I was wondering how to label, what pen to use if writing it on the quilt itself and few other questions are lingering in my mind. Will appreciate any suggesstion.

You can added writing or embroidery directly to the quilt back or front. Or, you can make a label and attach that to the back. I generally use Micron pigma pens in various colors to make a label. Sometimes, I add a photo that is printed on with my computer printer. Mostly, I trace designs that are colored in. You can find them in most quilt shops in various colors and in different sizes. After I make the label, I turn under the edges and slip stitch it to the bottom corner on the back of the quilt.
