Even Larger Blessings....
Well, I've been away from this site for quite some time. Shortly after my last visit, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, have since undergone a bilateral mastectomy, gone through several months of chemotherapy, had reconstruction surgery. It was a rough year, but I am DELIGHTED to say I've recovered wonderfully. Of course, I'll continue to be closely monitored and on medications for some time, but I've been given a fabulous prognosis and have no reason to think I won't live to be an old lady quilter!!
One of the side effects of chemotherapy for me was neuropathy in my hands and feet, so I pretty much was away from my sewing machine, or any other stitch-work, for the past year. I just completed my first post-treatment quilt -- a baby quilt for a newborn neighbor. I'm happy to report that it's just like riding a bike!! I can't wait to get working on my next project.
So happy quilting to everyone....and a reminder to get your mammograms regularly!!
