What a scarry experience! I just had a bird's nest and in trying to get it out I think I pulled the thread cutter. Now I have a funny noise. My baby left for the sewing machine hospital yesterday. I hope she'll be ok. Her sister is old and is taking on a lot of work while she's getting fixed up.

I did that just a couple days ago; I could see just the top cm of the needle. My husband was able to get out with a tweezers. I'm not changing needles again without fabric or paper over the feed dog/needle area! UUUgghhhh!

I know what you mean about getting more experienced with Shows and fabric. I wish now that I'd bought more "toned" type of fabric. A lot of my past purchases have quite strong themes and I realise I need more plain fabric to use it with. Sigh. Never mind! I've plenty of UF projects to be getting on with.

I also find some shows can be disappointing here (I live in the UK) as they can be a bit too "themed" and if the theme is not an interesting one (to me) it can be rather boring.

I must save some money and come over to the States one day and see some "real" quilt shows, lol!

When I started blogging, it replaced my journaling. As usual, I go periods of time doing a lot of entries and other times I'm silent. Those are the times I'm just busier.

I also love scrappy quilts and this tutorial is faster than any strip piecing technique I've ever used. Thanks.

It seems the older we get the faster time goes by. I wonder why that is? It makes me feel like I'm running out of time to do all the things I would like to do. I just finished making the grandkids summer outfits, and now it's time to think Christmas. What happened to the time inbetween?

I can sure understand how you feel ,I felt the same way when I left the NICU unit at Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis,I still stay in touch with a couple of the girls I worked with,found out they were building a whole new hospital, I have not been back to the unit to visit as when I do go back to Indy my visits are brief. But when they write to me and tell me all that is going on ,I miss them. its been 12 years ..
