so far, so good. long day on saturday driving, but we made t to the north oregon coast and it is beautiful. sammy even stopped me at a quilt shop on the way, so we are off to a great start. the first night at dinner, and i am not exaggerating, they had cuts of prime rib that were 5 inches high for $28.99. sam and i couldn't eat that in a month of sundays. that is a place for a teenage boy for sure.

the next day we poked down the coast and stayed in a tiny coastal town. we saw a few people surfing and lots of sea lions surfing, pretty cool. yesterday we drove through the redwood forests. i for get how magestic they are. as always the oregon coast is incredibly beautiful and i love the marine air. we spent the night in mendocino. wow. this is a hoppin' little town. the last time we were here, 20 years ago it was cute, but not real busy. lots of old hippies and a few young ones. stayed in a darling inn. a change from our usual no-tel. but i told sam i needed to stay somewhere with shampoo every few nights.

off to see more coast and some wineries. thankfully sam doesn't drink much, so i can be the designated drinker. the weather is beautiful supposed to be in the 90's in SF for the next few days, so we'll have good weather for the quilt show.

we got a few books on tape that helps when we are driving tons. not real fond of this first one, too scary.

i have gotten lots of quilting done, almost finished with my celtic knot table runner and i got two wall hangings and one quilt bound, yippee. gini
