Of course! We welcome all quilters to get involved in the forums, Show & Tell Gallery, blogs, and share their passion for quilting. All you have to do is create an account by clicking on the JOIN NOW button.

What does Premium Membership give me that joining the FREE community does not?

If you are interested in a premium membership, you'll get access to many benefits for a very low price!

Can I "unjoin" the FREE online community?

If you want have your Community account deleted, please e-mail us at admin@quiltersclubofamerica.com and put the words "Delete my Community Account" in the subject line. We'd appreciate knowing why you're leaving and if there is a way we can improve our Web site or service..

How much does it cost to join?

The cost to join the Club is $29.95 a year.

What credit cards do you accept?

We accept Visa, Master Card, Discover and American Express

Will I receive a confirmation of my order?

If you order online, you will receive a Welcome e-mail with your order confirmation number. If you order via mail, your Welcome Letter will serve as confirmation of your order.

I joined, but changed my mind. Can I get a refund?

Should you find Membership does not live up to your high expectations, you may quit the Club within 30 days of joining and receive a 100% refund of your dues. Resign the Club after 30 days and you'll receive a refund for the remainder of your Membership.

Can I purchase a gift membership for a friend?

If you want to purchase a gift membership for a friend, please call Customer Service toll free at 1-888-253-0203. Our representatives are available Monday through Saturday from 8 A.M. through 5 P.M. Central Standard Time.

I live outside the US. Can I still purchase (or upgrade to) a Premium Membership?

Yes! An additional charge of $10 will be applied to Canadian orders; an additional charge of $20 will be applied to Foreign orders.

I'm a member of QNNtv.com. What does it cost to upgrade to premium membership?

Will I receive a Membership Card?

Yes, your Membership Card is included in the Welcome Letter mailed to you when you join. You will need your Membership Card to take advantage of certain benefits.

What can I expect when I purchase or upgrade to Premium Membership?

You'll receive a Welcome Letter in the mail - Within six weeks you'll receive your Welcome Letter which includes your Membership Card and instructions on how to use the site and register for your Jo-Ann's VIP Discount Card.

How to Upgrade to QCA Premium

It's as easy as 1 - 2 - 3!

If you've already joined the QCA community, it's easy to upgrade your community account to a premium account.

Once you do, you'll start getting all those great premium member benefits right away!

1. Log in to the site with your username and password.

2. On your member homepage, click on this graphic

3. Then, just follow the steps to checkout.

You will be asked to enter your billing address and a mailing address if other than billing.

You can pay with VISA, Master Card, Discover or American Express.

Now you're a premium member!

Once your order is complete, you will be directed back to your member profile page.

Here you'll see the following box where you can start accessing your premium benefits right away.

Renewing your Premium Membership

How do I renew my Premium Membership?

You can renew your membership a few different ways:

Online: By far, this is the easiest and quickest way to renew. You can renew at any time while you are an active member, and you can also renew if you've let your active membership lapse.

To renew BEFORE your membership has expired, login into your account as you do normally. Then go to your premium membership benefits box and scroll down to My Account Status. On the next page, you will see the red renew button, click the red renew button to renew online and follow the online steps.

To renew AFTER your membership has EXPIRED, login into your account with your EXPIRED user name and password (they will work). Then on the left side, you will see a box that states, "Click here to upgrade to premium membership." Click that button to renew online and follow the online steps.

By Mail: You will receive membership renewal letters with your last two quarterly issues of Easy Quilts Magazine. Just fill out the form and send it in with your payment.

By Phone: Call Customer Service toll free at 1-888-253-0203. Our representatives are available Monday through Saturday from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. Central Standard Time. Please note, Saturdays are very busy, the best time to call is between 8 A.M and 10 A.M. Monday through Saturday.

When will I receive an updated Membership Card?

Your card will be mailed within approximately three weeks from your renewal start date.

I just received an email about renewal, but I've already renewed. How do I know you've received my renewal payment?

You can check online by clicking on the My Account Status link on your Member Profile page. If you pay online your payment will be processed immediately. If you pay through the mail, please allow 2-3 weeks for us to process your payment.

My Premium Membership has expired. Can I still participate in the site?

Yes! You can still participate as a member of the community even after your Premium Membership expires. The only change will be that you will no longer receive your Premium Benefits. Just log in with your username and password as you normally would.

Sponsor Deals & Discounts

How do I get the sponsor discounts and coupons?

First, you must have a Premium Membership. When you log in, look for your Premium Membership Benefits box in the upper left corner of your homepage. This is where you'll find several of your premium benefits.

Click on the "Deals & Discounts" link, and then on any of the many deals and discounts you'll find in the list. You'll find instructions on how to redeem your benefit.

I tried to use a sponsor discount but it didn't work. What should I do?

If you have a coupon code that you are trying to enter, and it's not working, please call our customer service team at 1-888-253-0203 or send an e-mail to admin@quiltersclubofamerica.com and give the code you are trying to use. We will contact the sponsor and get it resolved.

Downloading FREE Patterns

How do I download the FREE patterns?

Just log in to the QCA site. Click on Free Patterns either in the menu bar at top of page or in your Premium Membership Benefits box.

How can I find all the patterns from my favorite fabric manufacturer?

Click on the Deals & Disocunts link in your Premium Member Benefits box. Then scroll down to the Free Quilt Pattern Index. Here you can links to all of the patterns each our of Sponsors provides in one spot.

How do I print out the patterns?

Just click on the pattern link below the pattern image and open it

OR click on the red .pdf file link at bottom of the post:

Then either click on the printer icon on the top left or click "File" and then "Print."

Can I keep l the patterns I am collecting?

Absolutely! Since the patterns are available electronically, you have two options. You can simply print them out and place them in a folder. Or, you can save them to a folder on your computer and print them when you're ready to use. Just open the pattern by clicking on it, then click on "File" and "Save As." Then select a folder on your computer, name the pattern, and click SAVE.

Easy Quilts Magazine

When will I receive my first copy of Easy Quilts magazine?

Easy Quilts magazine is delivered four times a year: in January, April, July and October. When and which issue you receive first is dependent on when you purchase (or upgrade to) a Premium Membership, but you should receive your first issue within about 6-8 weeks.

I did not receive my copy of Easy Quilts. What should I do?

If you have waited 8 weeks and your first issue still has not arrived, please contact our customer service team.

Where do I find digital issues of Easy Quilts Magazine?

You must have a Premium Membership to click on the Digital Easy Quilts link on your member homepage.

How can I print patterns from the digital Easy Quilts magazine?

Printing tips and patterns from the digital Easy Quilt magazines is definitely one of the most popular uses of this feature. If you are new to printing pages out of the digital magazine. Just open up your interactive version of Easy Quilts to the page with the pattern. Then click on the "Print" icon in the white menu bar just above the magazine page. You can choose to print either the right or left pages or both. Here is a screen capture showing where to click to print.

I Forgot My Username and/or Password

What should I do?

If you do not remember your username, please contact our customer service team.
If you do not remember your password, click on the "I forgot my password." link in the Member Login box.

I received my Forgotten Password e-mail, but when I click on the link in the e-mail to change it, I get an "access denied" message.

Try copying and pasting the link into your browser, and then hit Enter. If that does not work, then e-mail admin@quiltersclubofamerica.com.

What happens when I check the "Remember Me" box?

As long as you do not log out of the site before closing your web browser, the site will "remember" you. You will not have to reenter your username and password to log back in. For security reasons we only recommend that you do this if you are working on a private computer that others cannot access.

My username and password is not working at QNNtv.com. What should I do?

Your username and passwords for QCA and QNNtv.com are not necessarily the same. Updating your password on QCA does not automatically update your password on QNNtv.com. You will find your QNNtv.com username and password on the confirmation email you received from QNNtv.com when you joined. If you've lost your username and password, or have trouble logging in, please e-mail QNNtv.com at info@qnntv.com or call (888) 253-0201.

Adding a Fancy Signature to Your Profile

How do I get a fancy signature for my name?

Many members like to feature a "fancy" signature under their blog posts. This is a two step process.

Step One: Create Your Custom Signature Code

Go to the "My Live Signature" Web site: http://www.mylivesignature.com/mls_wizard1_1.php
Follow the signature wizard instructions.
Once you get what you want, then choose "Want to use this signature"
Choose the "Generate BB code", then "Generate code for my hand written signature".
When the code is created, highlight it and copy it to the signature spot in your profile (see Step Two below)

Step Two: Insert the Code

Click on the "Edit Profile" link in the right side of your "My Profile" box.
Click on the middle "Site Options" tab
Scroll down to the "Signature" box
Insert the BB code you copied from Step One into the signature box.
Click "Save" at the bottom of the page.

Participating in Groups

What is a Group?

A Group is like a separate club on the site. Many of the Groups on QCA focus on a specific types of quilting: Embroidery, Hand Quilting, Mystery Quilts, etc. Each group typically has a separate Discussion board where you can read and post topics. There is also a Media section where you can upload pictures and view them in a slide show. Joining a group is a great way to share a particular passion with others who share your interest.

Where do I find Groups on QCA?

You can either click on the Groups link in the menu barat the top of the QCA site.

How do I join a Group?

Click on the Groups link to go to the Groups page. Click on the name of the Group you want to participate in. Then click on the Join This Group link in the right sidebar. Membership approval is usually automatic.

How to I post pictures in a Group?

Go to the home page for your specific group
Click on the Media link to the right:

Click on the Upload link. NOTE: If you have not yet joined the group, do that first and the upload link will appear.

Then click on the Specify file/URL button to browse for your image. Once you find your file, click Save.

Add your title, any comments and click Save. That's it!

To view pictures as a slideshow:
Go to your Group's home page
Click on the Media link on the right
Scroll down to the bottom of the image
Click on the View Slideshow link

Can I create my own group?

Don't see the group you are looking for? You can request that a new group be created. Before you do, here are a few guidelines to follow to assure it is a success:

1. Ask yourself whether the subject would benefit from having a separate group. See some of the examples below for ideas.
2. Post a thread in the forums and ask if others are interested in your group idea.
3. If the group is project based, decide who will organize the project and moderate the group.
4. If the group is not project based, consider what discussion threads or other activities will create interest and participation in the group.
5. Put in a request to the Admin to get your group set up. Be ready to provide the following information:

Group Name
Short Group Description
Group Avatar Image
Who will post initial content and/or moderate the group
Which group features are needed: Discussions, Media Gallery, Moderator Blog
If a pattern is being used, confirm whether any permissions need to be granted for their use in the group

Here are the most common types of groups:

Project based groups:
Examples: Mystery Quilt Groups, Block of the Month Groups,
These groups are usually based on a specific pattern or project that group members work on at the same time.
These groups generally require a moderator who will manage the ovreall project, initiate the discussion threads and answer member questions.

The rest of these groups typically do not require a moderator, but usually benefit from one or more "champions" to get the group started and keep activity in the group going:
Technique Based groups - Examples: Hand Quilting, Applique, Crazy Quilts, etc.
Product Based Groups - Examples: Janome/7700 Group, EQ Software Group
Other Special Interest Groups - Examples: UFO Group, Charity Quilts, Beginning Quilters

Making Friends on QCA

What is the benefit of making friends on QCA?

Joining the discussions in the QCA forums is just one way to talk with QCA members. But if you want to write directly to a member you can ask them to become your friend on the site. As you add friends you can quickly sent them personal messages, keep track of your conversations, and see what your friends are doing on the QCA site. Don't be shy about asking a member to be your friend. That's part of what makes the QCA community so rewarding!

How do I add a friend?

3. Type your message and click Send Request:

The person you contacted has to accept your friend request before you are both connected. An e-mail will be sent announcing your invitation.
To accept any invitation to be friends, click on the confirmation link in the main body of the e-mail (Do not click on the Reply link).

How do I send a message (start a conversation)?

Go to your Friends Page by clicking on the My Friends link on your Profile Page
Click Your Requests to see that status of your friend requests
Click Requests to Review to view and accept friend requests
Click the Start Conversation below any friends' name to send a direct message

How do I keep track of Friends activity and conversations?

Go to your My Profile page
My Conversations displays all of your recent conversations
Friend's Activity shows all of your friends recent activity on the QCA site

Posting Pictures, Videos & Links

How do I add a picture to my post?

With the option to add pictures, you now have the ability to showcase your work and personality in a more enjoyable way! Also, whenever you add a picture to your post it will show up in your post list on your blog homepage. It makes your posts much more visually inviting. If you insert multiple pictures to your post, the first one will be the one that shows up in the post list. To add a picture to your post:

1) In the body copy field of your post, put your cursor where you want the picture to be placed

2) Click on the Insert Media icon that looks like a film strip (it's located in the same toolbar as the Bold, Italics, and Underline options). If you move your cursor over the icons, the correct icon will read Insert Media.

3) Since the majority of pictures used will be on your computer, select From Computer.

4) Then click on Browse. This will open an additional window to browse the documents on your computer.

5) Select the image you would like to post from your documents and select OPEN. By selecting Open the additional window will close and a file name will now appear in the space next to Browse.

6) To complete the process, select INSERT.

How do I Add Video to My Post?

Have you either uploaded a quilting video to YouTube or found a video that you'd like to share in your blog? Here's how to do it:

1) Go to YouTube and locate the homepage of the video you'd like to display in your post

2) Copy the code from the URL box on the video's YouTube page (usually in the upper right hand part of the page). Or right-click on the video and click on the Copy video URL link. Make sure you have copied the entire code for a successful upload of the player

3) Go back to the body copy field of your post and put the cursor where you want the video to appear

4) Click on the Insert Media icon (just as you do when inserting a photo),

5) Select From URL tab, and paste the URL code of the video into the field

6) Click Insert

How do I Add a Link to My Post?

Note: This works in both blog posts, forum posts and comments.

You might want to include a link to another website in your blog post to guide other viewers to something you have found to be interesting or as a source for your post. There are two ways to do this.

1) Just copy the url (web address) and paste it into your post.

If it has been inserted correctly, it will change colors and become underlined after hitting the enter key.

Notice after you submit your post, the link turns red, like all other links on the QCA site.

2) Or you can turn specific words in your post into a link. (For an example, CLICK HERE). To achieve this same effect in your post, do this:

First, write your post in the body copy field (remember to hit Save, but don't Publish so you don't lose your work)
With your cursor, highlight the text you want to turn into a link
When you do this, you'll see the Insert/Edit link in your tool bar turn from gray to full color (it looks like a chain link)
Click on the Insert/Edit link
A box will open up that will allow you to type or paste a url into the Paste URL field
In the Target drop down menu, select Open Link in a New Window
Then click on Insert

Note: You can preview your post by clicking on the Preview tab above the title field.

Blogger's Tip: When responding to another's question via comments, it is nice to include a link to the source so that each member has the opportunity to read the original information.

Using the "Where Do You Hail From?" Wiki

Tell us what city, state/province or country you are from by adding your name to the "Where Do You Hail From? wiki.

NOTE: You will need a computer mouse withe a center scrolling wheel to add your name directly to the list. If you don't have one, or if you have difficulty using one, just click on the Comments tab to post where you are from there. See below for more details.

Scroll down the list to see where QCA Members are from or click on Edit to add your name to the list.

Make your edits only in the box highlighted in green.
