I like bright and rich colors no matter what time of year it is. I want cheerful quilts the wrap you up and make you feel good.

I am usually working on a quilt when Spring arrives, so as far as the seasons affecting my choice of quilt patterns or fabrics is not the problem.  The problem is dividing up my time between the gardening and flowerbeds and the sewing room.

No the current season doesn't affect my quilting. What does affect it is the weather--when it is warmer and the sun is shining I want to be out in the garden.

I love making seasonal quilts and wallhangings.  Spring is a new beginning!  New fabrics and patterns to buy.  What could be more fun1

It's been a long long winter.  I have made more quilts this winter for Lutheran World Relief.   Now that the sun is shining and no snow on the ground I will be making pastel butterfly wall hinging for a friend.

Spring being my favorite season I tend to always be influenced by it. I always make bright sunny quilts using the favorite colors of who ever I happen to be sewing for. I don't really care for dark colors, so always use colors like pink, orange, yellow, white, citron, turquoise; lots of flowers and polka dots. Thank you for the chance to win, have a sewriffic spring! :)

No, The problem is trying to get my quilt completed before it is time to get my garden in.  I always try to make bright cheerful quilts.  Just finishing up one for my sister in honor of our mother I named "Mothers Garden"  Just getting to the stippling stage.  I am a beginner at this, so I want to do it right. Had a wonderful suggestion from one of your members.

No.  The majority of my quilts are donated to one organization or another so I use fabric from my stash --- whatever happens to jump out at me at the time.  The other quilts I make are for gifts -- baby, wedding, graduation -- and for those I buy fabric with the recipient in mind.  I took my first quilting class ten years ago and haven't stopped quilting yet.  Too many beautiful patterns, not enough time!

Definitely yes…. It is very warm in the summer here in So.California, so I keep my

applique quilting and lap quilting aside for the late fall thru early spring months.

Then cuddle into my favorite chair with the projects on my lap and watch some

old/very old movies and sew away.  Late spring and summer is for whizzing

blocks together on the machine, usually sitting on the patio in my cool muumuu.

The season only affects my quilts if it is a seasonal quilt.  I am currently working on a Christmas one but I think it will have to "marinate until fall".  I have to get 2 graduation quilts done and only have the pattern for one.  Off to the quilt store!

No, not really.  I just work on what I want and what suits my fancy.  The only season they may really sway my quilting idea is Christmas.

Yes, the current season has affected my quilt projects.  I will give friends and loved ones something bright, warm and cheery.   For example, I will be making tote bags soon using fat quarters of bright, colorful floral fabric that I won through Quilters Newsletter contest.

The season has no effect on my sewing.  I just keep doing the best I can with what I have on hand while looking forward to the day I run out and can get new fabric.

The season doesn't really affect what quilt I'm working on, but it does get me moving to finish up some projects, carrying spring cleaning on into my quilt room.  I really get the urge to start something new, so I need to make room by completing ongoing projects.

no I quilt off season so I can enjoy the done quilt when the right season arrives.  I like to get things done when the weather is starting to change for the better.

It makes me more productive-as I garden as well so the warmer it gets the more I quilt trying to finish up the projects I need to complete. The days get longer and my machine time does to!

Only Christmas would cause me to quilt for the season.  I like making scrap quilts and keep busy working on whatever pattern has caught my eye at the time.

Yes, the seasons definitely influence my quilting.  I love to quilt for the holidays especially fall through Christmas.  Fall colors particularly excite me; can't get enough of them.  Let's face it, I just love color!  And florals!

Right now the weather is cold and windy so a good day to stay in and quilt. Once the weather gets nice I will be out in my flower and veggie garden then quilt on rainy days.

No, I don't think the current season affects my quilt projects. I am usually working on a quilt for someone specific and I almost always use bright colors for most of my projects.

No, not really, the person I'm making the quilt for affects my quilt project. I let them tell me what colors and how bright or light they want it.

No the season does not affect my quilt projects. This year I find myself so far behind on my projects that I would just like to  get caught up a little and get a head start on projects that need to be done for this Fall and Winter.

Somewhat, but mainly in that I begin to look ahead to the next holiday season in an attempt to finally finish something in time for that season.  I'd love to get to the point I can live in the day--work on season-timely things.  My color choices remain much the same regardless of the season.

The only season that affects my quilting is fall/winter as that's when I start working on holiday gifts. Otherwise, I'm working on whatever project & fabrics that has caught my fancy - some UFO status or new pattern that hit me - I'm just happy to be quilting EVERY season.

Kathleen Gabhart wrote re: April Member Survey: Does the current season affect your quilt project?

Seasons only affect my quilting as it relates to how much time I have available to quilt.  Spring means I have to trim, repot, plant, clean outdoor furniture etc. which means I have less time to quilt.

Cindi wrote re: April Member Survey: Does the current season affect your quilt project?

I pick pastels (pinks and yellows) in spring, brights (purples and oranges) in summer, dark reds, greens, and browns in fall, of course Christmas fabric, and in January I am drawn toward blues and nuetrals.

The season's only affect on my quilting is that I have to unplug my machines during thunderstorms. I also tend to spend more time outside when the weather warms up.  I will have 2 sewing areas once the warm weather arrives, as I set up a machine in the 5th wheel and spend more time out in it!

The Christmas season affects what I make sometimes, but generally I just make one of the many quilts that is on my bucket list.

I don't think the season affects my quilting projects as much as "what's coming up next" does on my due date list. I'm with Dottie on the thunderstorms as I unplug my machine during them. I'm active in the QCA Fabric Swap and the Loyal Union Soldier groups so they dictate quite a bit of what I do. .... as did the Round Robin group last fall.

No the season doesn't affect my quilting projects. They are based the project itself and who I'm making it for. Most of my projects tend to be made with batiks if they're made for me.

I guess the green you see outside gives you more energy and also the days are getting longer which gives more time to sew in natural light. So yes it does affect my sewing/quilting in a positive way.

absolutely! Spring is when I get to quilt something for myself, because the Christmas push is over. Then I start on the birthdays and next Christmas gifts.

I live in California.  This year summer has jumped right over spring.  It has been in the mid 80s this week so we are scurrying around getting the veg garden planted.  It is now or never, so my quilting is on hold.  I am working on the Radiant Suns pattern by Cara Gulati.  This requires me to pay close attention to the "all curved all the time" seams.  Maybe next week I will not be too tired to sew.  It is a fun quilt!

I'm an earth tones type of person and when spring comes I find myself looking at brighter colors. I never make myself anything bright - just not me but I will sew brights for other people.

The current season has no affect on my quilt projects at all. My taste stays the same all year long. The only thing that makes a difference is upcoming events like babies, weddings  etc.

Seasons don't usually affect my quilting - but the weather always seems to dictate the time I get to dedicate to it. During fall/winter in Washington, there is plenty of indoor activity time - spring/ summer always inspires working in the garden. As far as patterns and colors, I always try to determine the purpose for the project and I love to challenge myself with new patterns and color combinations.  Color and flowers work any time in my quilting world, they aren't relegated to Spring.

Seasons affect my quilting----I am outside and not quilting in beautiful weather.  Living in the northern states, means you need to enjoy nice weather when you have it----so I quilt when the weather is cold and nasty.

The spring season give me a wide variety of choices to work.  The holidays have passed and the door opens for more creativity.  Spring and summer are the seasons for exploring new techniques and ideas.  So much to see and do during this time of year. Colors are a big choice during this time of year.

I live in Las Vegas so the weather is always dry and usually hot. I can't let that stop me from quilting. I just make sure I have lots of hand lotion (fabric & the dry weather make them super dry), a big glass of ice water, and a good fan in my sewing room. The fabric colors I use are bright and sunny and my projects are ones I can finish quickly, like table runners, and lap quilts.

I tend to want to make smaller projects, so I'm finishing up on a quilt for my grand daughter who lives in Japan. A quilt of paper dolls with inter acting cloths in a pocket on the back.  Can't wait to box it up and ship it to her from Va. Then I will be making table toppers and pot holders, as many different ones as I can.

Only inversely. I'm usually trying to get a headstart on quilts for occasionsat least a couple of months away. So When it's spring/summer, I'm doing autumn/winter patterns. So I guess it does, only bacvkwards.

I find I put away any unfinished Fall and Winter projects because it's too hot here to even look at them.  I look for a simpler cool color project to work on.
