My great grandmother made a quilt with hand stitched umbrellas.  I have the original and want to make a reproduction of her design.  The handles of the umbrella are embroidered and the applique umbrellas are blanket stitched on.  I remember some of the fabric was from clothes she made me.

Happy New Year everyone!  I want to make a Christmas Hunter's Star quilt for next year. Also a fan quilt using 30's repro fabrics or a Dresdon Plate with those fabrics. That's my bucket list as of today !  

Improved Nine Patch!  I fell in love with this pattern just recently, I've been dreaming about it & I just have to make a few.  I call it the "Romantic Quilt".

My bucket list includes a Baltimore album and a double wedding ring. However this year I am working on perfecting my 1/4 inch seam so I can move into these quilts and be very happy with what I produce.

I want to make some Lil Twister quilt.   I love the easy way those seem to go together, and the very different way they turn out.  

I want to make a double wedding ring and a Baltimore Album quilt. My pail list (this year's dream) includes perfecting my 1/4 inch seams so when I get to these quilts I will be happy with my outcome.

I would some day like to make a Mariners Compass, and a Christmas Tree skirt from satins and velvet. I just can't seem to find a pattern that I like for the tree skirt.

I have had the pattern for years and have not had the courage to start, this year (before 2014) I hope to make a "Grandmothers Garden Quilt".  I may not finish even a twin size, but if I can finish at least 4 blocks, I will feel I tried! I enjoy applique, but I am not good at it, so that quilt will be a challenge.!

I have plans to make a Irish chain using scraps that I have been collecting. When I have scraps I check if they can  be cutting into 1 1/2 strips or squares. I will need to add a solid white, ivory or maybe even black to fininsh. Of course I still have some UFO's to finish first.

We adopted a boy at age 7.  He went back to his Mom at age 14 and it broke our hearts.  We reconnected after 23 years.  I want to make he and his fiancee a Glacier Star Judy Niemeyer paper pieced quilt.  

I've always wanted to make the traditional double,wedding ring quilt, but I have not confidently mastered " curves". It will remain on my "bucket list" until I do!,  Happy New Year and happy quilting!

I have so many: Yellow Brick Road, Quilt of Valor, LeMoyne Star, and Dresden Plate to mention just a few.  So many quilts, so little time!

I think I might try a Crazy Quilt to use up some scraps and "get acquainted" with the decorative stitches on my machine.

Celtic Knot in red, green, and gold batik at my son's request.  He chose the pattern and color scheme.   It is to be done by Christmas.  It will be the first applique quilt so I'm checking out several applique methods.  

I want to make a flannel rag quilt. My husband loves snuggly quilts and I want to do this one for him. My expertise is small but I believe I can handle this. And of course I can always come to AQS for tips and advice.

I want to make a twin size Crazy Quilt with all of the fine fabrics and fancy hand stitching. It is a task of pure Love once done!  They are so beautiful!  :O)  But where to start?  That is the question.....

There are so many. #1 is any Judy Neimeyer quilts, and #2 is a Dear Jane.

Dresden plate.  I want to make one quilt with one each of three different sizes on a whole cloth using a white background and use the colors of the petals for the border.  I also want to make a free form, multi colored guitar on a whole cloth.

I'd like to do Card Trick.

The dresden plate will be made after I complete the civil war quilt I have already bought the material for. I hope to have that done for my nephew by the end of the month.  One month to make a quilt.  whew.  I've done it before.

I recently repaired a Mexican Star quilt which my son-in-law's grandmother made for him. It was in tatters before he gave it to me to fix.  I've been saving my feedsack scraps so I can make a new one, and hope to get started on it this year.

Christmas tree skirt for daughter with appliqued hand prints from every member of the family with important info enbroidered into palm.  (name, birth date) Handprints can be added as desired.  

I'll continue to make a quilt for everyone in my extended family. First by finishing my sisters thank you quilt, then hoping to make at least six more. Starting with an Irish chain with scraps from all the past quilts, then on to a braid with a hexagon ruler I purchased a few years back. I hope to stay busy all year long sewing, quilting, and gardening.

I've always wanted to Drunkens Path.

My great grandmother in TN had made 'hearts & gizzards' quilt that is shown in front of her & my gr grandfather's ONLY photo I have.  It is in black & white but appears to be red/white.  I'd like to think of her & copy her quilt.  

Also, in January the quilt group I teach at my church, I've planned on an Irish Chain quilt. Mine will be white and light & dark green for the double patch.  Should be FUN!

I am going to attempt the Balance Art pattern from the Nov/Dec 2012 Fons and Porter issue.  I need one more piece of fabric, and then I'll be ready to go!

I would love to make the "4 Patch Posie".   It is where you take 4 layers of a fabric and line them up so that the motif is layered exactly the same on top of each other on all four pieces.....then cut into 4 squares.  Depending where you make the cut, you can have various ways to make different blocks, but all the same color scheme.   Has anyone made this?

I want to make a Bargello  quilt.  I love the movement the blocks create, and I have some batik fabrics that would be perfect for one.  Maybe several - wall hanging and table runner size to lap quilt size.

I would like to do a Baltimore album, wedding ring,and a glacier star this year.

2012 was the year of the 'bear claw', and I did make a lap size, it turned out just beautiful in fall colors.that was my desire for 2012. I will make a giant Dalia from Marti Michel this year. I have put it off too long and I really want it for my room. I painted my bedroom 'Butterscotch Sundae' nearly 10 years ago. After the quilt is made I'll repaint the same color.

Lone Star. Most of my quilts are for "Comfort Quilters", Fairbanks, IN and they are given away, I.E. we also make fleece blankets and we have sent over thirty to the Northeast area.

I want to make a Cathedral Windows quilt. I tried the traditional way of folding the fabric and that was too difficult for me to match the points. I tried the circles; that's not working too well either. But 2013 is my year to finally get this pattern working. Happy New Year to all.

I'd like to make a cathedral window quilt.  It looks more challenging than regular piecing and may be one that I could make by hand sewing, which would be easy to take with me so I could work on it during lunch breaks from work, etc.  

There are several quilts on my bucket list, a quilt that looks 3 d like blocks, an art or landscape quilt , a portrait  Mosaic  quilt, wedding ring quilt.  Sew many quilts sew little time.  I love to create my own design but there are sew many wonderful patterns, and it is so much easier to use a pattern that I have now switched and at least start with a pattern

I want to make a Quilt that is associated with the State that was born in and live in.  That is the LeMoyne Star.  According to information I found in a post on Quilting Board it started in 1699 when the first permanent European settlers in the Southeast US were French.  The LeMoyne brothers sailed into Mobile Bay.  By 1711 Fort Louis had been settled as the capital of the French colony known as Louisiana.

I would like to make a grandmother's fan quilt with 30's fabrics.

I can't wait to do a large log cabin/barn raising quilt for my mom.  Hopefully it will be done in time for Mother's day.  =)

I would like to make a Mariners Star and a Mariners compass, I love these designs but they look so complicated.

I want to replicate a quilt made by my Great Grandmother for her first grandchild's 10th birthday  (my aunt) in 1926. It has embroidered designs on wool squares.

I plan to make a Hidden Wells quilt for my 18 yr old son who was just diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma.  I have also been collecting reproduction fabrics for Double Wedding Ring quilts and plan to make them (start anyway) this year for each of my 2 sons. I thought starting the wedding ring quilts now might ensure their completion by the time the as yet undetermined brides are found and dates are set. Since my sisters wedding gift quilt (started in 1985) is still a UFO, this is probably a lofty plan.

I would just like to get up the courage to "quilt" something bigger than a wall hanging size piece.  I have several twin and double size quilt tops but am not confident enough to complete quilting them.  The two patterns I fell in love with when I first started quilting are Log Cabin and Kaleidoscope.

A Lone Star quilt is my main project this year. I also will be making loads of lap and crib size quilts to donate to some group that works with children in crisis situation. Those are the light of the stars in my book.

Double wedding ring is on my bucket list for this year. Hope to get it started this spring. Would also like to do a t shirt quilt.

Double Wedding Ring. I want to make a scrappy one and have a paper piecing pattern that I purchased several years ago. One of those quilts that I have always planned to make, but haven't gotten around to it.

Making a Baltimore Album Quilt is on my bucket list so I want to try any floral applique patterns that will help me do this.

First I want to finish the 4 quilts in process.  Then I want to make something with the civil war fabrics I inherited from my late mother.  Then I want to make something colorful with a black background, Amish-style.  Then a double wedding ring.  Those 7 should take me several years.

Time always seems very expansive in January but not so much in December! My bucket list includes a Double Wedding Ring quilt, a log cabin quilt from Judy Martin's book and Storm at Sea. I spent a part of today, Jan 1st, working out a time schedule to accomplish my goals.

I want to make a quilt out of all the dog show and horse show ribbons I've accumulated using the 'log cabin' pattern only using the rossett portions as the 'center square'.

I'm too old for a bucket list. LOL Everything I do is on my bucket list, but if I had to chose one it would be to do a Compass Quilt maybe F&P Spice. I have lots to do so as I said, everyone of my quilts is on my Bucket list. Happy New Year.

I am a fairly inexperienced quilter.  I've tried paper piecing and had a lot of difficulty getting the centers to match up.  I would like to learn more about using the paper piecing technique on different types of stars on a nine patch quilt.

I have alwasy wanted to make a Bear Paws quilt. I started one 40 years ago, sewing it all by hand. But life got in the way with 2 kids and everything that goes with that and the blocks got lost in a move. About 4 years ago I brought the fabric for a new one. I retire in 6 months, hopefully I can get it made this year. Of course there are lots others and I have the fabric for them also so we'll see.

Storm at Sea has always been one design I've wanted to do, Mariner's Compass would be a second choice.  This year I have to concentrate on two quilts for high school graduations in 2014, after I do two baby quilts for new additions......then there's all those UFO's!!!

some day ... a mariner's compass

I've been quilting for about 3 years now and every quilt I see I want to make.  My husband would like one made from his old neck ties.  I have to find a good pattern.  He certainly derserves one since I've made one for most everyone in the family.  I find myself in the middle of making a quilt thinking of my next project.  So many quilts so little time.  

I want to make a Bible block quilt, a Christmas tree skirt, Christmas mantle runner and Christmas table cloth, and a music quilt.

I've been holding off doing the Mariners Compass and I made a decision that this was the year to go for it.  Just love the pattern and all the variations.

oh boy!  I have SO many patterns on my bucket list!  Baltimore Album & Cathedral Window are near the top, but they are gonna have to wait. For now...I've just started a bargello, AND, at the same time, I'm into art quilts & I have several designs of my own that are at the top of my list.

I would love to try a bargello and a mariners star. Paper piecing does not make sense to me so I am going to try any pattern with paper piecing.

I have the only three remaining quilts of all those my great-grandmother made.  One is a hand appliqued butterfly quilt, one is a Lone Star, and one is a Sunbonnet Sue quilt that was on my bed as a child.  I'd like to reproduce all of them.

The Mariner's Compass is at the top of my bucket list. I also have a whole bunch of patterns saved from various magazines and web sites that I are on my list.

My bucket list includes the Moda "Skittles Quilt".  My almost adult grandson is an artist.  I have been looking for a pattern that would feature many of the bright colors of the rainbow while not looking as if it were made for a child.  The Skittles Quilt with its contemporary grey background represents his age while the bright graphics stand for his artistic nature.  Hope to have it made soon.  

Cathedral Windows is a quilt my sister-in-law made & I have always admired but have not attempted so far.

I Want to try my skills and do a dresdan plate or something similar this year.

I got an applique wall hanging from a lady selling off her stash.  This will be my first and I know my quilt bee will help allot since they are extremely knowledgeable in this field.

Sun Bonnet Sue.  My mom in law passed away left 4 Sues had a family raffle and my hubby did not win, I got her fabric though and the 4 quilts to use as templates so he will get his mom's fabric, his mom's color selections but his wife's sewing.  Hope it works.

I'd like to make double wedding ring quilts for my children and I hope to quilt a special quilt for the grandchildren to use when they visit from pieces of different character sheets their parents used when they were children. The most unusual "quilt" in my plans will be my tile floor "quilts." I've purchased tile to create a double nine patch design in green and white for my clutter room/craft room and planned it out, I need to have some other work done in the room before I can begin but am really looking forward to this. I've learned that quilting and tile work is much the same-at least in the design stage. I have tiled 3 rooms, 2 with special patterns -one of them with walls, floor, tub and shower all tiled in patterns I designed and I have plans for 4 more rooms I hope to complete this year.

My Bucket list quilt is a double wedding ring. Specifically FLOWERS FOR MY WEDDING QUILT PATTERN by Judy  Niemeyer. I purchased the pattern, but the directions have me so confused. It is strip piecing for the rings. So, I will eventually do a double wedding ring quilt and I want to use the foundation paper piecing. I have been practicing, and am having some good results. I did not do it with the strips though and I don't think I will. I have a niece who will get married some day and I hope to give her the quilt as a gift. I keep saying I want to get started. Maybe this year.

I am in the process of making my first paper pieced quilt. It is a Mariners Compass. Thankfully it is through a local quilt shop, and there is someone to keep me sane! I keep asking myself "What was I thinking?" I am determined to finish it!

I want to make my first artistic quilt using a wonderful poster I have as the pattern.  I have never done anything like this before.

I have several on my bucket list: Texas Star, Double Wedding Ring, Irish Chain, Basket and a rag quilt.  My upcoming projects include using the Double Wedding Ring as a block with wedding pictures printed on fabric: my parents wedding, my wedding, and my son's wedding all done in the wedding colors.  Hopefully I will be able to finish these before too long.

I want to make a wall hanging size paper-pieced quilt.  They look so amazing when finished.  The trick is they are really easy to make, just a bit time-consuming.  I want this to be the focal point in my living room.

I would like to be challenged by doing a hand pieced Mariner's Star quilt.  I've never done a hand pieced quilt and this would indeed be challenging.

I want to make a Lone Star/Texas Star quilt I've had the fabric for a few years but need to add to it. My colors have changed but I still want to make this quilt.

On my bucket list is to machine piece and quilt my 1st quilt ever. My mom is a pro-in my eyes and he does both, hand and machine quilts and has hand quilted 2 and says she's not doing another. I'd like learn to machine quilt so I can quilt her quilts for her and her friends. The pay a lady that may some time soon stop quilting due to health and age. So this is on my bucket list. I also have a nice big embrodery machine I plan to finish a in the hoop quilt project I started last year.

I would like to make a Nancy Zieman dresden plate quilt.  That might spur an interest in machine applique.

I would love to tackle a small  but challenging project like an appliqued pillow top(s) using a variety of fabrics and, perhaps, embellished with hand embroidered stitches.  I would also like to learn to how to finish a pillow!

I would like to complete the king size quilt with machine quilting.

I would like to make a crazy quilt, but I am also working on "America the Beautiful" which is a BOM in a quilt shop I have found here in a small town in TN.  I understand it was originally published in a major quilting magazine, but I don't recall which one.

I'm working on a bow tie pattern quilt right now that I've wanted to make for years. My great aunt made one for me when I was a baby, and now I'm making one for my grandson. Next on my bucket list is a kaleidoscope quilt.

Problem is that my bucket list of patterns keeps growing!   I work fulltime and can only devote eavenings and weekends to quilts.  But I have to say that myvery favoriteis a mariner's compass.  Not just one square, but a whole quilt dedicated to this beautiful pattern

My bucket list includes doing a wedding ring quilt and finishing one my mum started using fortrel fabric -  remember that fabric from the late 70's.  It is started in some form of a starburst or sunflower design.

There are so many quilts I want to make that I don't know where to start, but I have learned an easy way to make dresden plates, and would like to try that sometime.  

First up on my Bucket List of patterns for this year is to learn how to make Log Cabin Blocks both regular pieced blocks and foundation pieced, and then size the blocks to designs I'm making.  Of course, I'll need to conquer foundation piecing, too!

Last year I conquered English Paper Piecing, starting with Fons & Porter's Grandma's Garden Party pattern from the Fall 2011 Easy Quilts Scrap Quilts issue.  Now I've hexagons in various stages of completion everywhere!

I plan to make Hugs and Kisses twin size quilt this year after I finish some projects I have unfinished.

I plan on making a Canning Jar Wallhanging for my kitchen. It is similar to the Bug Jar Quilt only uses fruit and vege fabric. I have collected old jars for years and they decorate my window sills. I ordered the fabric pack from Keepsake Quilting. Also I have been wanting to make a sampler from a book I have called "The Pioneer Sampler" using either 1930's or Civil War Reproduction fabrics. But for now I am trying to finish up some other projects to empty boxes to make room for new ones. Happy New Year.!!!

I want to make a king or queen size quilt with a huge mariner's star medallion. I have a how-to book but I don't yet have the courage!

I'm planning on making "Vintage Moments" this year.  Hopefully I will start it after I get the two quilts done that I have started.

Oh there are so many but i want to make a dresden plate , quilt of valor and civil war quilt ..I bought the dresden plate template and the Farmers wife quilt book too.. quilt of valor because my father was a veteran and i would to like to help other vets.. I also would love to learn the double wedding ring but i think i will save that one for next year.. a dresden plate looks so pretty...

Oh there are so many to choose from that i want to make, but i think the one that keeps drawing my eye to is the dresden plate and civil war quilt.. i have a thing about the civil war era and underground railroad quilt.. i boought a dresdne plate template and a underground railroad book. learning more about civil war patterns and fabrics.. Dresden plate though i dont know why keeps telling me to make me.... i have some other wall hangings that i seen in the magazines i want to make too.. so i got a lot to do this year to keep me busy and use up my stash to make room for more fabric..

I just love the look of a bargello quilt. This is the one that I keep saying "one day" for. I tried a little sample of it and added it to a crazy quilt center. But would really like to make the whole quilt one day. Don't know if I can get to it this year, but I sure will try.

My bucket list includes finishing a Tessellating Stars quilt in pink and light green for granddaughter,

then quilting a bow tie quilt top made by my late mother-in-law then do my first log cabin quilt.

The Double Wedding Ring king size quilt is on my "bucket" list to finish this year. All I have to do now is the binding and it's done! Yeah! I've only been handquilting it for about 10 years! My mother/law pieced it and she's 91 years old, so I have to get it done now!

I took a class at "Quilt Nebraska" in 2008 from M'Liss Rae Hawley on the Kaleidoscope block and would like to make a quilt using this beautiful block.

Karen Stone's New York Beauty paper pieced pattern.  Lots of pieces needing lots of patience, so paper piecing is the way to go!

To finish the EB Egg Money Quilt I started, then make one with Ohio Stars in it....and maybe a patriotic quilt for a QOV or Wounded Warrior.

I would love to make one of Marie Webster's patterns - maybe poppy, daisy, or white dogwood.

I would like to make a Storm at Sea quilt.  I love the way it looks curved when there are no curved seams.

I would just like to make a few of the patterns I have collected over the years.  It seems like I collect patterns and fabric and do not make as many quilts as I could.  My kids keep telling me that all I need to do is leave them my craft supplies and they will be rich.

I want to make Shakespeare in the Park by Judy Martin and Amazon Star by Judy Niemeyer. They're both designers that are so prolific in what they do, I just love their work.

I am currently working on a memorial quilt but I hope to start on my bucket list quilt, a quilt of valor in Feb....on my marines quilt on his birthday....to present when finished hopefully about the anniversary of his honorable discharge from the USMC.

Since I won the Tonga Batik layer cake in Mango Salsa, I decided it was perfect for the "Something Fishy" pattern in the book "Cut the Scraps" by Joan Ford. I had wanted to make that pattern, and the gold colors of the batiks really should make them look like tropical goldfish, which my husband loves. He used to have an aquarium, but doesnt any longer, and this way, he can still have his fish!

It is easier to say what is not on my bucket list.  Currently I am working on the Underground Railroad Sampler and a hidden 9 patch using the Sea Scape line. For this year I want to make the Sweet Sixteen appliqued quilt.  Applique is so beautiful, I am glade to see it making a comeback and with new tools to make it easier and time friendly!

Mybucket list for quilt making? Well lets just say that I would love to create a Thousand Pyramids Quilt out of all the beautiful, luscious fabrics from my dressmaking and alterations period.  How wonderful to look at all of those tiny pieces of happiness from those precious teenage girls looking forward to their first formal prom.  I can almost seeing their beaming faces now.  A young woman never forgets her first prom dress, and i never forget their faces as they look at their completed dresses at the final fitting!  True Happiness wrapped in a memory quilt

I would love to make a large Texas Star. Since I am a self taught quilter I am sure this task will take  some time as well as research and video watching to get it right.  I would like my star to look like a sunrise starting in the middle as the bright sun and fading all the way to midnight.

Oh goodness this has been so fun to read...I am attempting to do some quilts for me since I don't have any! My Grandma made a butterfly quilt years ago for my cousin. It was raw edge. Although, I don't remember it exactly, I made a pattern and am hoping to get this cut out for the Branson Retreat for one project. I also have pattern and an unopened video of the Double Irish Chain... I told a friend last week that I was going to attempt to make that another Branson project - so, must get material and get busy on that too. My very favorite quilt has always been the spool quilt....I made a pattern and started making one years ago....that was before I realized y seams were hard....I guess this would be a major item for my bucket list....maybe in scrappy......today I finished a top for a baby quilt for our quilt guild..need to quilt and bind it along with a very small baby quilt I quilted last week for the guild...need to bind it...My bucket list would include doing these quilts along with 6 charity baby quilts for our guild... Now, it's in writing .....I better get busy!!

I really would like to make a Storm at Sea quilt.  I bought the templates years ago and they are still in the package.  Also my neighbors wife passed away and I inherited one of her ufo's.  I would like to finished it and pass it on to one of her children.

My bucket list for this year begins with several quilts that I started at various times in my life but never finished.  I found two of these such quilts while trying to organize some of my fabric drawers.  One is Vertical Drop found in Jelly Roll Inspirations,and the other one I am working on at the same time is Dessert Time by Eleanor Burns.  I am also getting ready to start on a quilt for my girlfriend's son's wedding in April.  Since their place is done in neutrals, I have been gathering batiks to make Eleanor Burns' Friendship Braid King Size.  I have never made a king size quilt and have never made the braid so this will be an interesting adventure.  I sure hope it turns out nice since it will be a gift.  Beyond that, I am going to begin the Chloe quilt which is embroidered it is beautiful.  This one will be my most challenging one and I will be joining an embroidery block of the month group at a local quilt shop.  Can't wait to try this one.  I could go on and on with all the quilts I would like to finish but I will stop here.  

I'm going to make my daughter a chevron quilt. The background is black and all other quilt pieces will be grey using several different patterns. There is so a few lavender pieces to boreal it up a little.  Wish me luck

Bucket list quilts?  I have two of them.  A Mariners Compass and a Tree of life.

Anything English Paper Pieced. I always loved my Grandmother's and I want to emulate one of hers as a tribute to her.

I've got the fabrics, and book, to make the egg money quilt (quilt in a day).   Not generally crazy about 30's fabrics, but saw it made up when visiting the QIAD shop in southern CA about 2 years ago. It was beautiful.  Have been accumulating fabrics, and am 'just about' ready to tackle it!  

This, and about 25 'UFO"s'.  Probably 25 is not counting them all!  Should make for an interesting challnge!  Just FINDING all the UFO's!  Better get to sewing!

My next bucket list quilt is a double wedding ring. I am almost finished with my first bucket list quilt - a hand-pieced, hand-quilted Grandmother's Flower Garden in black, white and red.

LABYRINTH PATTERN

I've been collecting patterns that I want to make for a long time. The one that stands out in my mind is a free pattern from  2010 by Henry Glass & Co called "Sonoma", fabrics designed by Freancelle Contreras. By now (3 yrs later) I'm sure the fabrics would be impossible to find so I've started collecting fabrics and I almost have enough to make this beautiful quilt.

I plan to do Moon Glow by Jinny Beyer, Golden Harvest by Judy Niemeyer & am hoping to get on a free BOM that's working on a pattern very similar to the New York Beauty.  I have high hopes as you can see!  I have the patterns for the first two and even fabric for the first two blocks of Moon Glow, but am still working on the fabrics for the latter one.

My bucket list for this year is a Bird-of-Paradise quilt for myself.  Just found this pattern and think it's beautiful.  Can't wait to start.

A Judy Niemeyer pattern, first one Glacier Star, Mariner's Star .. then of course, there is the stash with all the bagged projects in my closet !!  They are on the list too !!  

My plan is to make a neck tie quilt wall hanging. My father in law recently passed away and plan to use his ties and make this for my son who admired his grandfather.

Oh my, that is a hard question. There are so many I want to try... but I think sunbonnet sue quilt in the 30 reproductins fabric, or a double wedding ring, or.... geez, I just hope I live long enough to get some of these quilts done.. Have done quite a few quilts but have not gotten to these quilts.

Lone Star

The two I would love to make but lack the skill and confidence are the double wedding ring and Catheral window.  onsidering my younger daughter wants a double wediding ring I better start now.

Being a new quilter I would like to like to make a Dresden Plate quilt. It reminds me of my husband's Aunt, we called her "Auntie". She hand quilted many a quilt will she was on this earth and was my inspiration for learning to quilt.

My bucket list just keeps getting longer and longer, there are so many quilts out there I would love to do, but my first one this year is a bargello one.  I am planning on making one for a Christmas present.  Maybe I will get time to finish some I have started before and never had time to finish.  Good luck to me!!!

I want to use up some different wool plaids that I have and make a lap quilt for my niece.  I will be designing it myself.  I don't have much quilting experience but I enjoy a challenge.

Lone Star....this is so intimidating to me.

I have collected feed sacks from the 40s and 50s and plan to make a trip around the world with the collection .  I just enjoy taking the feed sacks out and feeling them.   I had many dresses , blouses and skirts made from some of the same feed sacks while in grade school.  Lots of memories there.  We are celebrating my mothers 94th birthday this week end.  She is still sewing , making her own patterns for baby dresses etc.

Hope I will be able to continue to sew at that age !

I inherited a Grandmother's Flower Garden from my grandmother--who quilted with the same group of ladies at her church for over 70 years!  I hope someday to make my own Grandmother's Flower Garden, in honor of Grandma Carothers.  I have started on my flowers and I'm comfortable with the thought of it taking awhile before I have enough for a quilt.  Seems like a proper tribute to a lifelong quilter.

My bucket list is even longer than my UFO list! One thing I don't lack is inspiration! Top on the list, though, is a Storm at Sea - but I want to do a mini version and haven't been able to find a pattern or directions about how to downsize the "standard" size blocks.

What pattern isn't on my bucket list?  I would like to make a Mariners Compass, and I love Baltimore Quilts, but don't know if I have the guts to try one...I think it would be forever a UFO, or just a big medalion applique.

If I have a bucket list quilt I would have to say it would a crazy quilt. Also to finish the quilt for me (since mine are usally for others) my Kaleidoscope quilt.

I have an antique quilt square from the 1840s that is a turkey red and overdyed green whig rose variation. I bought it at an estate sale.  My dream is to applique this block in reproduction red and green and finish the four block with appliqued borders as I believe the original quilt was first designed.  This quilt square is framed and hangs on the wall in my living room as a reminder of the quilt I have yet to make, the history of quilting, and quilters that have worked with thread and needle before me.

Double wedding ring.  I have purchased the fabric three different times to make one and used it for something else all three times!  2013 is the Year I will do it!

My bucket list for this year is New York Beauty in black and Whites, hence called Sleeping Beauty.

IT IS  (TAH-DAH)  ...   A COMPLEX MARINER'S STAR.  I AM INTIMIDATED, BUT THE REALLY COMPLEX STARS REALLY SPEAK TO ME OF A TIME LONG-GONE...A TIME OF EXPLORATION.

My bucket list of quilts is actually rather long, but at the top of the list is the Double wedding ring quilt (I even have all the fabric set aside to make this one),  A gingerbread man quilt, appliqued to show him doing all sorts of Christmas prep activities, and a 12 days of Christmas quilt.  As a note the Christmas theme is because I realized recently that I have made more than 30 quilts and only one of those was a Christmas quilt and I gave that one away, I am feeling a distinct lack of spirit right now.

I need to do a sampler quilt this year because I'm really tired of looking at the stack of fabrics I bought eons ago to do this.  What I would prefer to do is a chevron quilt in multi colors which I just ripped out of my quilter's mag.

Job's Tears.  My mom  was given blocks of this quilt when I was a child and I was fascinated.  

I have found that I am partial to making patriotic quilt stars.  I have been collecting many different types of patriotic star block patterns.  Our family has three members this year deployed again in Afghanistan (all are on the 3rd or 4th tours) and I am also retired from service in the Army, 21 years.   I am just a beginner quilter and so far I have made one baby quilt and have I have completed  stacks of blocks to make future quilts.  My next goal is a full size quilt for a day bed in our Military room.

I would like to make a Mariner's Compass. I recently completed a Craftsy course on Quick-Strip Paper Piecing which has given me the courage to admit that the Mariner's Compass is on my bucket list. Also, I would really like to do an appliqué quilt, maybe a Baltimore album.  Sigh - so many quilts, so little time.

I would love to make the 40th anniversary quilt featured in the Quiltmaker magazine throughout 2012.  I do have most of the fabrics that I need.  I love the gazebo/garden design and I like the way they have incorporated ideas/motifs from a number of quilts featured in their magazine over the past 40 years.

I have always wanted to make the mariners compass, about a year ago my niece went out and got herself a tattoo of the mariners compass in the colors I have wanted to use. This has inspired me to gather the materials for those quilts I realy want to make so my niece doesn't tattoo them all allover her body.

She is coming over on Monday to start quilting,  I will be a mentor, and she will save her skin.

I have always wanted to do my own version of the Barbara Frietchie Star Quilt.  I used the pattern for making potholders for all my family (27 total potholders) for Christmas, and now I'm inspired to go big and make a king size quilt.  

I've always wanted to make a king size quilt from the Barbara Frietchie Star.  Last year for Christmas I made 27 potholders for my family using the pattern in an 8" square.  Now I think I'll scale it up to 10 or 12 inches to make my dream quilt.

My New Year's quilting resolution was to sew down my quilt kit stash - so my favorite pattern will be the one next in line in my box.

Pineapple pattern is on my Bucket List for this year.  I made one many years ago and gave it away.  Recently I've seen some really interesting combinations and would like to make one to keep for myself.

I still want to make a Radiant star quilt- I have my pattern and all my fabric- now I just have to get up the courage to DO it!

On my bucket list of quilt patterns is to make more of my own original designs.  I have a lot of virtual designs created in quilt software and would like to make them a reality.

My bucket list is not made up of patterns that I want to make.  I am not intimidated by any pattern.  Rather my projects are driven my a particular fabric saying it wants to be a particular part of a pattern.  An example - I found this fabric with a design in it that resembles a sine wave ( a curving line that undulates back and forth ) I immediately saw that wave as the central focus of the main point of a 30 inch Mariner's Compass.  From there the rest of the fabrics are chosen to co-ordinate and enhance the design.  When I get started on an idea get out of my way! I'm on a roll.

I don't think about doing the Mariner's Compass - a particular fabric suggests it and I go from there.  

The more complex a pattern is capable of looking (which usually involves points) the more I am drawn to it.  My style might be described as a collision of Jinny Beyer and Judy Mathieson with a touch of Paula Nadelstern thrown in.

I am living with cancer.  My bucket list is not of patterns to make but of feeling well enough to complete to finish quilts I have started - either physical in fabric or ideas in my head.  Sometimes I find it difficult to put aside the idea in my head in favor of working on a project started before I became ill.  The doctors don't know how long I may live - it is a matter of how long the chemo keeps the cancer in check.  As a consequence my priorities have to be based on the importance of completing any given element in my life.

I would like to a curvy quilt pattern, baltimore album quilt eventually and a few others.

Before my Mom passed away, she gave me a Judy Niemeyer quilt kit. Now that Moms been gone four years I have finally begun working on it. As I figure my way through the quilt , I find myself having conversations with Mom..I would love to complete this quilt and enter it in my guild show this June..for my mom!

I've been collecting fabric for years (love fabric!) and am excited to make my first quilt using the Disappearing Nine Block - this block is simple and it can make so many patterns, perfect for small fabric pieces, and looks so pretty!   My plan is to make a quilt for my each of my kids and then to make 'preemie' blankets to give to our local hospital from the extra pieces.

The quilt I'd like to make is inspired by the lyrics of the song "Windmills Of The Mind."  I've been looking for quilts that have a circle becoming the next circle continuing all through the quilt.  I've been saving fabrics that would be incorporated into these circles.  Found a few patterns that may work, but haven't settled on any particular one yet.

I would like to make a Baltimore Album Quilt.  I doubt if I can ever finish a complete bedside quilt but maybe a samll wall hanging.  But mre realiztically I would like to complete several child sized quilts for the Ronald McDonald house.

I have never sewn a curved seam while doing patchwork and so I am going to attempt a seven blade buggy wheel block.  If it works, I may make a whole quilt!

I have a dahlia quilt started, but have not touched it since I did the dahlia part of the quilt and I love the Bella Bella quilt patterns and am working on colors right now and getting the courage to actually do the quilt. It will be challenging, but I really love the mosaic patterns.

I would like to make a version of Jacob's Ladder. I have seen so many combinations I have to try it.  But then I also need to do a Hunter's Star.  Decisions, Decisions. :o)
