Uhmm no question here lol. Okay well if its regarding scrap quilts I love them and hate them lol.
I had a quilting day today with a friend I met via the internet on a quilting website, QCA. We worked on our needle turned applique, had lunch out, and shopped at a new quilt shop. It was a great day for both of us, as always. We catch up with each other, share quilting tips and fabric.
We came into each others life via the internet and have become fast friends. It's funny we don't always meet new people in our life in regular social settings anymore such as a party, church, school or work, we are in cyberspace meeting people now.
Cyberspace is a regular part of our daily life. I never imagined as I was growing up I would be using a computer so much now but I couldn't live without one.
I just became a member and I cannot wait to dig into all the wonderful things I am going to find on this website. Yesterday all I did was quilt and read about quilting. I wish I had an unlimited budget so I can purchase all the wonderful fabric that is out there, I am like a kid in a candy store. However, to settle that yearning I dug out the fabric scraps that I inherited when my mother in-law past and cut enough strips to piece two queen size quilts. Happy Quilting! Laurie
I've been a member for about 1-1/2 years now and this is just the best group. I recently was able to meet another QCA member when she was traveling through the state and it was absolutely wonderful. I hope to be able to participate in a quilting retreat next year where I will be able to meet many more of the online friends I have made since joining.
I love QCA. I have met some wonderful people on this site and have participated in several groups. Everyone is so helpful & caring. You offer great resources and contests. This is a wonderful place to enhance your skills or even learn new ones.
This club has grown! I joined a few months after it began online and there is so much more to it now. I recently re-joined and am awed at all that is available. I'm still making my way around the site. I'm currently finishing a "Chicklet" quilt and almost have it ready to quilt. Maybe by Monday it will be complete. My opinion is a 2 thumbs-up to this site.
QCA has grown so much since I joined in 2009. So much to enjoy & see.
I need more time in the day to see everything! So many projects! Love it.
I joined QCA last year when I started quilting again after 30 years. I have made 11 quilts in the last 11 months and am loving every minute of it. I have acquired patterns from the site and read about the new products and fabrics available. I have also found new fabric shops using QCA. I love this site because it keeps me up to date with all of the new products and contests. I work 6 days a week and spend all of my off time quilting and reading about quilting. Thank you so much for providing all of the information available at QCA's web site. Without this information, I would not know about a lot of the new items that become available and I love to enter contests. I find it so rewarding to take a few scraps of pieces of flat fabric and turning it into a work of art that is enjoyed by all who know or meet me. I have given away every quilt I have made in the last year to family and friends and they cherish each and every one of them.
I am quilting a broken spider-web baby quilt, hope to finish this week. I have only been a member of the QCA a few months and love it, also love the TV shows. Thanks for all this.
Fons and Porter started me in my quilting and where I still get most of my inspiration.
I am a new member, and a new Quilter. So far I LOVE IT ALL! I am having such a great time. Meeting new friends, and making new Beautiful Gifts.
I'm new to quilting and working of my first quilt top, a scrappy 4 patch. Fons and Porter is a great help to me. I'm new to this site but I've been watching Fons and Porter on PBS for a long time.
I started quilting again when my sister in law's husband had been sick- I wanted to have something in common with her to rebond. I fell in love all over again with sewing, quilting, and fabrics. I will never give it up again! I even purchased a longarm to learn on and love my whole quilting experience.
According to how life is going, my quilting ebbs and flows at different rates. When the passion hits me again, I love to vising the library and Barnes & Noble to read magazines for the latest information and ideas. Of course, visiting QCA and QNN is a must and helps to get my quilting juices flowing.
Love, love, love the magazine...so many quilts I would love to make and so litte time. I am so thankful to have QAC so that I can watch some of the videos. We have cable TV here in my small mountain community. I have written to them asking for your show but as of yet NADA....so for now YEA for QAC.
Love your magazine! But come on....really? I will NEVER live long enough to do all the things you have forced me to add to my bucket list! I get SO MUCH inspiration, info & great ideas from you that I will not be able to leave my little sewing room for the next century or two....
And I appreciate this chance to win a $100 eGift Certificate too! Thank you! All of you at Fons & Porter are awesome. & because of you, I truly do have a love of quilting!
I have been quilting for a few years and have been a member of QCA for a year now. I have spent so much time here, learning new things, looking at quilts and projects from others, and I did the mystery quilt last fall. I didn't have time to make the recent mystery quilt, but looking at the ones submitted I saw that they turned out just beautiful. Everyone here is so friendly and you can get constructive critisim when you ask, and lots of encouragement. It's a great club to belong to.
Outside of watching my mom sew when I was a kid, I am relatively new to the sewing/quilting world. I came across your website through my recent purchases of quilting magazines. (my siser is starting to tease me about being a magazine hoarder) I'm glad I have joined because there are so many beautiful and unique projects being displayed by other members and I appreciate being able to glean knowledge and tips from people who have 'been there/done that'.
My inner voyer could spend hours on your site. :0) (plus, the online format is so much less of a fire hazard than a stack of paper periodicals!)
The Club is really great, so much information and FUN STUFF. I was a member before and let my membership lapse. Decided to give the club another chance and just came back this month. So glad I did. Lots of changes...I will be sure to stay a member. I can spend alot of time here and come back for more.
