No I don't belong to any clubs. I am doing a few BOM's but they are mail order so we do not get together.

I belong to Reap What You Sew (you can find them on Facebook). They are a large guild in Phoenix, AZ that just celebrated 16 years. A few years ago I started a small chapter at my church in Scottsdale, AZ. My friend took it over when I moved back to Ohio. The guild has annual retreats that are a lot of fun. There are usually approx. 85 women at the retreat. I went to 5 retreats before moving. They also have an annual Christmas party. At the monthly meetings there are BOMs, pool blocks, show "n tell, prayer requests, someone demos a new block, sometimes there's a special guest, and once a month there is turn in. Once a year there is distribution night. All the quilts that have been turned in are distributed to children's charities, VA hospitals, and hospice. Last year over 2500 quilts were distributed. They get calls during the year from charities asking for quilts and they will have a special sewing day to try to meet the need. I am so very proud to be a part of Reap What You Sew. I still make quilts and ship back to them. I would highly recommend that a new quilter join a guild. They can learn so much from the other quilters and the fellowship with other quilters cannot compare anywhere else! Most quilters I've met are Christians, caring, and very helpful. The quilters here at QCA have become some of my best friends.

OMy Yes!  I belong to a small group called Weigh to Sew (it's our own little weight watcher's circle, currently watching each other GAIN weight).  Also, the New Mexico Quilters Association Guild.  Fantastic Guild!

No, I do not belong to a guild, group, or circle.  I would like to join one after I retire in a couple years and settle into our new community.  

I belong to a church quilt group that meetes every Wednesday to quilt other people's quilts. We do it all by hand. It's fun to sit around a quilt and share our lives and events with each other. The curch built a special room for us to quilt in. We have three quilts in at the present time. It's a treasure that I am extremely gratedul for. The money we get from quilting goes to missions and local charities.

I belong to Narragansett Bay Quilter's, Rhode Island's guild. Besides the quilting comraderie, I love the classes offered through the guild; very varied from guild members to nationally known quilters. Every two years we have a quilt show (in April). This year it was fantastic as always; such a gifted group of women. I also belong to a smaller group, The Hot Stitchin' Mamas, that came about when we met monthly at a local fabric stores' Quilt Club. We've stayed together since the store closed, renting space at a local hotel once a month to get together for quilting and gabbing. We just had a weekend getaway in New Hampshire, full of quilting, quilting, quilting (and shopping of course).

I belong to Village Quilters (quilt guild) in San Diego, CA and to Material Girls, a mini group - Material Girls.  It's great to be able to get together with like minded ladies and swap ideas, work together and solve the problems of the world.

Yes, I belong to "Undercover Quilters" in Brookhaven, PA.  I am a new quilter and have learned so much from all the helpful members.  The guild makes and donates many quilts each year.

i just joined Cherokee Blossom quilt guild in Cleveland, TN. Membership also included membership in TN Quilters guild. The first meeting was fun and everyone was so friendly. Hope to make lots of friends and my grand daughter Maddie who is 8 years old, attends with me as she has her own charity called Quilted Hugs from Maddie, where she makes and collects quilts for needy children. Yes. Our group is limited to 50 members to keep  the benefits of close friends.  I would recommend everyone find a group to foster their way through the first steps of quilting.  The tips and encouragement are great!

Not a member. I attended the local guild for a few months, but their schedule didn't fit with mine. There is another guild about 50 miles away I would love to participate in, but the travel time and schedule doesn't work for me either.

I belong to the "Sew Whats", "Friendship Quilters," and The Newtown Quilters Guild.  I would definitely encourge anyone to join a group.  You can always learn something no matter how long you have been quilting.  The quilting world is really changing right now with the new young fabric designers and quilt designers.  It is good to be pushed out of your comfort zone every once in a while.  Whenever I take a class, I try to use fabrics I wouldn't usually choose just to "stretch."

I belong to two quilt guilds, one in Arizona where I spend my winters and one in Illinois for the rest of the year.  In Arizona we have winter ladies from all over the United States and Canada - around 30 active members.  We put on our own quilt show each year and make lots of quilts for children in need.  In Illinois, we have around 20 active members and are currently making a quilt of valor.  

Yes, I belong to a large guild in Colorado Springs which is great for bringing  in speakers to widen our horizons and abilities.  I also belong to a group within the guild which meets twice a month to make charity quilts for children.  Recently I helped start a group that quilts little gifts to sell at Rock Ledge Ranch, a living history farm.  We are also going to be quilting in period dress this summer at the Ranch to spread the love and history of quilting.  Lastly, my neighborhood rec center is host for those of us in the neighborhood to meet twice a month to quilt and talk -a nice old fashioned quilting bee.  Do i need to say that quilting is my life? I don't belong to a "club", but I do sew quilt tops for my daughter's church quilt group (from patches they cut and send along to me).  I also volunteer with ConKerr Cancer, making pillowcases, quilts for Project Linus, and I just recently became interested in trying to do some IV pole covers.  I keep plenty busy, and love every minute of it.

I am fairly new to quilting and belong to a very large guild.  I find meeting other quilters and attending meetings inspiring.  I would like to join a smaller group eventually.  I recommend joining a group.

I belong to a wonderful guild that has terrific speakers but I wish I belonged to a group who sews together regularly and is willing to bring in teachers and open it up to visitors to keep the price comfortable

I belong to Victoria Quilts and we make between 35 to 65 quilts per month for cancer patients that are often very chilly while undergoing cancer treatments at hospitals. I receive so much more by working for this group than the effort I put into it, which, is about 10-20 hours per week; the fellowship with the quilters, the hints, learning new ways, etc.... Love It, love it, love it. Everyone should join a charity.

I have belonged to a quilt guild since shortly after I started quilting.  I learned a lot and loved the camraderie.  When I moved four years, I joined the guild in my new location but it is BIG.  Luckily, I have a cottage group that meets in my subdivision weekly.  I only get to join them for an extended lunch most of the time but I love it.  There is no substitute for the fellowship of other quilters.  They are the sisters Mother Nature didn't give us.

Yes, I belong to a wonderful group, Sew Happy Hearts, who are starting their fourth year in existence.  They sew, share, encourage, teach, learn, support, and travel together.  We do classes, charity work, an annual show, and monthly meetings.  They're a GREAT group and I enjoy my time with them.

Yes, I belong to my local quilt guild.  The guild brings in outstanding/entertaining speakers from around the country and provides great workshops so that we can learn all sorts of techniques.  In addition, I head up our guild's Charity Bee in which a group meets once a month (or more) to make Hugs (quilts) for less fortunate children in the community, as well as several types of items that are donated to the local nursing homes and hospital.  Charity Bee is where newbies can come and get hands-on training where needed.

I belong to the Florida (NY) Quilters Guild, which I joined after my husband died three years ago.  The Guild began 25 years ago.  From the moment I joined, the members have made me welcome, have shared their knowledge with me, and given me encouragement.  Joining was one of the smartest and most rewarding things I have done.

I belong to a quilting group that meets once a week at our tutors home where she provides something yummy for afternoon tea to help us along!  There are 8 of us and we have a lot of fun and laughs.  We have been meeting for a couple of years now since we were beginners and Doreen (our tutor) has been teaching us a lot of new skills which has increased our knowledge and confidence to create our own masterpieces.

I belong to a wonderful quilt guild, the Cabin Branch Quilters in Woodbridge, VA.  They are a wonderful group of people that are helpful and allot of fun. I've learned how to quilt and laugh at the same time.  It's got to be fun or not worth doing!  It's a great support group, I've taken classes and gone to quilt retreats and am having a great time.    

I belong to our local quilt guild, Basin Piecemakers, and a group at our local senior center.

The guild is a great place to meet friendly helpful people.  We have a week long retreat

twice a year.  We have programs every month and an occasional outside teacher.

The senior Center makes Community service quilts for several organizations.  We make about

three or four quilts that are raffled at the center each year to raise money for the center as well as

raffle quilts for several other organizations.

Unfortunatley I don't belong to one yet. I do however have a quilt buddy and we get together a few times a month to work on things and figure out problems together...its true 2 minds are better than one.

Yes, I belong to North Central Washington Quilt Guild in Wenatchee, Washington. I also belong to a Round Robin group of 5 ladies called Sew Excited. Our guild puts on an annual quilt show, we make seasonal placemats for Meals on Wheels, comfort quilts for give away, raffle quilts when asked, and palative care quilts for those in the last days of their life to name just a few things our guild is involved in. One of the fun things we've done is held a quilting time that was veterans who had received a Quilt of Valor to sew quilts to give to other veterans. It was simple strip piecing but they all had a great time and they did terrific work.

I'm part of a small group of 5 dear friends who have quilted together 1 night a month for the past 10 years--we laugh together, cry together, go on "quilt trips" together (last summer was Boston and Portsmouth!! amazing what you can justify in the name of new fabric), sometimes just bring our ironing because we're too behind to sew......but we NEVER cut fabric together!! (we learned that the hard way :)

Yea I belong a group that is very informal and open to anyone who wants to join in with us.  The idea of this group is to welcome any one who quilts or would like to learn how to quilt.  We have no one person in  charge and everyone helps and shares with everyone else.  We meet weekly and I love every minute of my time there.

I don't belong to a quilting guild. I work full time and volunteer a lot and the rest of the time I like to spend sewing! I do attend a monthly Bernina software class at my most favorite store in the whole wide world, Bear Paw Quilting & Bernina, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. We do a monthly embroidery project & bring our show & tell projects, and I do enjoy the companionship of these women.  I've been taking this class for over three years now. I also attend a yearly retreat with a great group of quilters for four days in the mountains every year, where we quilt to our heart's content. I feel that the benefit of belonging to any group is to inspire to new techniques, to encourage to finish projects that are worthy of being finished, and to have someone besides hubby to congratulate you for a well-sewn finished work!

I belong to 4 guilds, a friendship group, and 2 prayer-quilt groups, one an independent group of Christian women and the other the prayer quilt ministry at my church, which I lead.  I've only been quilting for 4 1/2 years, and when I moved to a new area 3 years ago, I joined 3 local guilds in order to meet people.  I also maintain an active role in my 1st guild, driving 75 miles to the meetings, because it's really about the friendships that you form through quilting.  I mean, who else is going to understand my fabric addiction?

I participate in a class at our Senior Center and do BOM with Craftsy and now am signed up to do a Mystery BOM. I have helped tie quilts with a church group before I moved a few years ago.

I belong to and was one of the founding members of a volunteer group. We use unwanted fabric from going into landfills sites and use them to make quilts for children in crisis.For 2 months before Christmas we create sewn items such as placemats, bibs, crayon rolls as well as quilts to donate to our food bank and Salvation Army to be added to the Christmas hampers.We have a wide variety of quilters from young to old and beginners to advanced. We are always learning new techniques and sharing new ideas, blocks and hints. I just LOVE these women and we support each other through life struggles as well. We started just a group of qulters and have become a group of very dear friends.

I belong to Uhuru Quilters Guild. The guild is Chapter 655 of the National Quilting Association (NQA). The guild has been featured in articles in the Washington Times, Baltimore Sun and Washington Post. We have exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, the Smithsonian, the Miller Office Building in Annapolis, Maryland, and various African American Cultural/Heritage Days at the National Colonial Farm, the University of Maryland, and local public school systems.

The Uhuru Quilters membership reflects the diversity of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and the quilting population. Skills range from beginning quilters to advanced fiber artists and professional quilters. While many members engage in quilting as a hobby, the guild also has quilting instructors, quilt judges, and quilt historians as members. Individual members have won awards and ribbons at the Maryland State Fair, county fairs in Prince George's, Montgomery, and Anne Arundel, and quilt/needlework shows sponsored by Sotterley and Woodlawn Plantations. Our members' art has been published in Communion of the Spirits by Roland Freeman, Spirits of the Cloth by Carolyn Mazloomi, and Heirloom Machine Quilting by Harriet Hargrove.

Yes, I belong to a group that I started 12 years ago.  Our mission is to make quilts for charity.  There are about 25 active members in our little community in the Mt. Washington Valley of NH.  We have made over 1,300 quilts since we got started.  Each year we also make a quilt for RSVP to help the with meals on wheels and medical drivers.  We raised $3,750 last year on the quilt.  Two times a year we do a retreat at a local resort where we work on our own things and I teach a class.  We do a lot of laughing and don't take ourselves too seriously.

I belong to Cactus Sewable Quilt Guild in Yucca Valley, Ca, 2 Friendship groups and a charity outreach group that I started thru our guild.  I am recovering from major surgery and as soon as I am able, I plan to start a group thru my church to benefit our local pregnancy center and the rescue mission, the Way Station.

I belong to a local guild with a monthly attendance of around 75-85 in each of a day and a night meeting, and to a stitch group with about 15 members.  The guild has a program with an education spot by one of the members, a program with several nationally known speakers each year and other presentations by talented guild members.  Each meeting we have show and tell which is one of my favorite parts of the guild and local quilt shops provide door prizes for each meeting.  We have an outreach called Hearts and Hands and donate several hundred quilts each year for various needs.  We have a huge quilt show every other year.  The stitch group is less formal.  Sometime we have a group project and other times we just have show and tell and fellowship.  We share ideas and problem solving with each other.  I recommend that quilters participate in one or more of these types of groups if they are accessible to them

I just became a member of our local quilt guild last Fall, 2011, Lakeside Quilters Guild, Oshkosh, WI.  I have only been quilting about 3 years and it is a great way to learn.  If there is anyone interested, we have a quilt show scheduled for July 26th during the Experimental Aircraft Association Fly In; many people from other countries visit while attending the Fly In.  Come check us out! www.focol.org/.../shows.html

I belong to one guild that meets once a month and has a bee once a month.  I also attend 2 different groups that meet just like a bee would.  One meets once a month and the other meets every other week.  I also belong to 2 online groups.  I wouldn't trade any of them off.  I need the stimulation, uplifting friendships and inspiration they all give me.

I am a member of Th Hands all around Quilt Guild In Bloomington-Normal, IL.  We do lots of community projects including making dresses for the girls in Haiti, Quiilts of Valor and lap quilts for nusing homes. We also have a quilt show every April. And a sale and auction of items guild members no longer want. We have lecture and classes from well known quilters SepT. through March.  We make a raffle quilt yearly.  You can see we are a busy group.  

I also belong to a small group that meets in Lexington, IL.  We cut kits for the Quilts of Valor and make Christmas stockings for the soldiers which the folks at State Farm(headquartered in Bloomington) provide the fillings for.

Yes I'm a member of a group called the "Quilting Chics" alias "The Fat Tuesday Group". We meet every Tuesday morning at the White Avenue Baptist Church and have a happy time, sewing, laughing, talking, and sharing ideas and food. We all bring a little something for lunch to share that's why we refer to the group as Fat Tuesday. We have a blast.  

I am a member of Pieceful Patchers, Piece and Happiness, and Peggys Patchwork Pals quilt quilds and also belong to the American Sewing Guild. My sister and I go together and we learn alot and have lots of fun.

I do not currently belong to a quilting group, but once I retire this summer, it is a definite possibility.  I hear there are several groups here in our small city.  Not sure if I am in their league or not, but it would be great to be able to learn from others.  I am a member of the Embroiderers' Guild of Canada and our local chapter.

I don't belong to any groups or guilds as there are none within a reasonable travelling distance. However, I am a member of the online Echidna Club community and go to their biennial convention in Brisbane. There's a nice little sewing machine shop in Newcastle, NSW that is building up its quilting supplies and classes and I have been to two of their retreats. The rest of the time I rely on websites to keep me up to date and inspire me.

YES..YES...YES ...Brenham Friendship Quilt Guild and our Glory Bee [making charity quilts] and a sewing group of a dozen meeting the first Monday of each month. These feed my creativity and form friendships and support in all areas. Can't imagine not, or where my quilting would be without them.

I belong to a quilt guild. The benefit to me is that there are a wide variety of skills and talent in the guild. I can always get a question answered. The ladies (and one gentleman, too) are very supportive and encouraging. I absolutely recommend that new quilters join a guild. It's a great source of hands on training.  

no, I do not belong to a regular quilting club or guild. I would really like to. My local Bernina store has a sewing/quilting club every week, and I go when there is a project I would like to do. Last year, I joined their 1-year Block-of-The-Month evening every month, based on Jennifer Chiaverini's Sylvia's Bridal Sampler. I went because I wanted to join a group and get to know new people, and have some me-time away from home. I convinced my friend and neighbor to go with me, and taught her by coaching her through her first quilt as we worked together on our quilts. We spent several nights a month catching up throughout the year, finishing our blocks after club night was over, and became better friends! I layered, machine and hand-quilted, bound and embroidered the label of her quilt for her, and we just finished it a few days ago.

I wish I belonged to a more regular group and guild for sharing, learning techniques in person, and socializing in my chosen hobby! Sometimes I feel really alone in all my planning and creating.

No, don't belong to a guild.  Do do the Planet Patchwork Mysteries though and several networks here on the net.  Otherwise don't have time to fit the guild thing into my schedual.

I started a quilt ministry six years ago called Quilts from the Bluffs in Council Bluffs, IA.  This group is open to anyone in the community and it just keeps growing.  All fabric, patterns, batting, thread are supplied.  We teach quilting to anyone who wants to learn.  All quilts are donated to the community.  I recently joined the Piecemakers quilt guild in Missouri Valley, IA with some friends.  It is nice to attend a group I don't have to lead.  I enjoy just showing up.  If you don't have a regular group to quilt with, I would encourage you to find one or start one.

I used to belong to a guild that was an hour away, but after 2 years, I wasnt really getting anymore than trunk shows. They didnt share like I was anticipating, too much into their little cliques. The next closest one to me that I have heard great things about is 2 hours away. Too far.Wish there was one closer, but online, I am getting alot of comraderie from groups like this.

Yes, I belong to Buckwheat Stitchers of Preston Cuunty, a local quilting group.  There are many benefits of belonging to a group.  A beginner can benefit greatly from a quilt guild or group.  A quilt guild or group is a great place to get advice or help if you are having a problem with how to do something, which fabrics work well together, etc.  It is also a great place for a beginner to share their work without feeling intimidated.  We sometimes have someone proficient in a certain area such as machine quilting to come in and give a class or demonstration.  

I belong to a church group, Threads of Love.  We make lap quilts, bibs and walker bags for the local nursing homes.

Yes, I belong to Q.U.I.L.T.  Quilters United in Learning Together in Bethlehem, NY.   Joining a guild such as this is an excellent way to learn new techniques and to share materials and books and to be inspired by each other.

I belong to the Southwest New Mexico Quilters Guild.  Our monthly meetings are a blast with Show and Tell, block of the month, and new information.  There is always a special how-to presentation by one of our members, and annually a well-known teacher is brought in for classes and pot-luck.  We donate quilts to locally and to members in distress.  Great Group!

Yes, I belong to a guild and small group.  This is my second set.  While living in California, I belonged to my local quilt guild and then helped form a small group called Twisted Thimbles.   I found the small group to be very creative and stimulating.  We did retreats, round robins and road trips.   Both guild & TT are still going and very active.   Then I moved to Mobile, Al where I am now and joined the local guild here.  From the guild I became friendly with a group of women and we have formed a small group, PHD (Projects Half Done, although one husband calls us Piled High and Deep).   Again, a very creative & active group of women.  We do projects together, road trips, retreats and classes.  I find the guilds are great for creative stimulation, meeting fantastic women and getting away from the machine for a few hours.   I find the small groups are better for getting projects completed, although, I do have say, sometimes seeing other quilter's projects, just adds to my list.  I currently am going to have to live to 250 to finish everything and use up my stash....

I belong to one guild, one quilting group and one circle that do two retreats a year. They are all different, and each gives something special. I have lots of quilting friends, and we learn from each other. Some times one of the groups have someone come in, to teach us something new, other times it is someone from the group who has learned something new, and passes it on to the rest of us. If someone struggles with a task, there is always someone to help.  Both groups meet twice a month, and we have special tours once or twice a year.

Yes, I belong to the local guild and several smaller groups.  I started quilting by attending a class and reading a lot of books.  I put off joining a guild/group because I felt I was too busy to give them the proper support.  Was glad when my neighbor convinced me to join.  The guild is comprised of the most fun-loving, friendly, helpful, caring women, and they support each other as well as giving support to local charities.  We make community quilts and quilts for the veterans hospital.   And like JanetHenry, I also will have to live to a ripe old age to use up most of my stash.  My quilting "sisters" will help me out, I'm sure.

I do not belong to a quilt guild, group or circle at this time.  My life is filled with a number of volunteer obligations, and I find I would rather be at home whenever I can, so don't want to commit to something else.  Perhaps sometime in the future a guild will be part of my life.

No i do not belong to any guild or Quilting group, although i did take quilt lessons for a while from a quild member when i lived in town, now i live in the country, i have taught myself the rest and thanks to the good teacher i had, i have done very well by myself the rest of the way.

I belong to a group of friends who emotionally support each other. We have no name no rules we just are. When in need we are there for each other. We cry, laugh and pull our hair out together. We help each other find fabric even if it is in our own stash. Our quilting lives are so much richer for having each other. Love to all my zany crazy quilting sisters.

I belong to a guild and a minigroup and find them both beneficial.  In the guild you can almost always find someone who has similar interests as you. A new member would be welcome to our guild and from there she can request assistance in forming a group. Monthly speakers and workshops mean that you can participate in many ways.  Meanwhile, my minigroup has 9 members who are the greatest friends, quilt-wise and more.  We are always learning from each other.  

Yes, I currently belong to TNT Guild in Glen Carbon/Edwardsville, IL.  TNT stands for Ties, Needles, & Threads.  Guild members quilt, piece, knit, embroidery, cross stitch, crochet or anything that has to do with ties, needles or threads!  I moved to the area two years ago and immediately went in search of a guild I felt comfortable attending and joining.  

Prior to moving to the this area I had belonged to a quilt guild and a couple of "bees" that branched out from the guild. 

Guilds and Bees are an excellent way to get involved in a new community or to get support in a new sewing hobby in your current community .  Members are generally very willing to guide and support you in your personal growth. Prior to joining my first guild, I was under the impression that as a beginner I wouldn't be 'good enough' to join...wrong!  All skill levels are members...men belong, too. 

As with any organization, the more you get involved the more you get out of your membership. We must all remember, though, it is voluntary...don't be disappointed if everything isn't done the way you would do it.  Just enjoy the fellowship and sharing...that's what it's all about. 

Yes, I belong to the local quilt guild.  The pros are that you get to meet some well known quilters and they also host a yearly retreat.  Now for the cons:  it is difficult to belong to something like this when you work 50+ hrs/wk...you feel like you can't contribute the way you need to be able to (and yes, there are some members who help emphasize this feeling) and you have to deal with the politics within the organization.  Right now, there is a split among the members and one feels like they have to pick sides.  One side is undermining the other side and trying to oust members in key positions when it is hard enough as it is to have members volunteer for these positions to begin with.  Also, the new leadership is more of a dictatorship than one which allows members input for decision making.

I belong to TWO quilds ... my hometown one AND the one in my current location.  I also belong to a small art bee.  First of all, joining the local guild when I moved here was extremely important for me to connect to the community.  I now have several wonderful friends because of this.  I also love learning and seeing what others have done.  Both guilds and my art bee contribute to this.

I belong to 2 quilds, one in Tucson AZ and one in Virginia Beach VA.  Both guilds are wonderful. I also belong to a bee (Sisters by Choice) that I started about 15 years ago. We also have a group called sisters N Friends which holds a retreat twice a year. There is also the Stitchin' Misfits, a group that started at Hancock Fabrics in VA. I have met many people and made many life long friends that have become my sisters. The friendships made thru quilting are wonderful and educating. We all have something to bring to the group. What a wonderful hobby (read obbession) we have.

No, anyway not officially. My sister-in-law and I get together on Wednesday night and try to quilt or sew and of course I join several groups here and 2 BOM's online. Since I'm on oxygen 24-7 I do not get out often, so the computer is my Circle of quilting friends.

I belong to two quilt groups.  I am the upcoming director of newsletter for COQG, Central Oklahoma Quilt Guild.  This guild brings in superb speakers and sponsors workshops.  We have a quilt show every other year which displays over 300 quilts and we have programs like a bed turning and many vendors.  Our next show will be in June of 2013.

The other group I am active in is Stitches of Love with my church.  We make quilts for the kids at the OU Hospital.  Last year we made over 170 quilts.

I belong to two guilds.  The sharing and energy these women inspire keeps me challenging myself to try new things.  I would encourage any new quilter to visit the local guild and see that the threads of creativity are warm and welcoming.  It is a great way to experience new techniques and learn more about quilts and how they bring warmth to our hearts and communities.

No, I don't belong to one.  With the way my pain is I'm not able to.  But if I have a question I can always ask one of them when they meet and they are more than willing to help.  Besides that I can't drive because of the medication I take.

When I first moved to FL I joined my mom's quilting circle.  It was alot of fun.  I was almost 30 years younger than most of the women, but they were very supportive.  Now that I am a gramma, I will again join a circle as soon as I quit working.

When I lived in NH I was an active member of our local quilters' guild for 22 years.  However, when I moved to FL I have found that in our area the groups meet during the day.  This is incompatible w/ teaching, and I miss the interaction and stimulation of a group.  When I am off disability and retired, I will join the nearest group which is 25 miles away.  I hope it is also worth the trip.

I used to belong to several in the area, but it got too expensive. Since I am trying to start a not-for profit quilt class and consignment venue I have decided to remain neutral in this area for a while. I still help out by doing free quilting for their charity quilts, when time and $ allows and act as a consult sometimes, especially to newer members.  I appreciate all the friends I have made and am hopefully going to lift this area into a new dimension in quilting by offering these services.

No, I do not belong to any group, guild, or club.  There is a nearby guild yet their member requirements exceed my available time. On the flip side, I live with my mother who has quilted for well over 60 years.  She is my resident mentor.

Yes, I belong to a local guild, Uncommon Threads in Memphis, TN,  that monthly has show and tell, speakers, do charity projects, and a yearly retreat.  There is also a quilt guild at my church that I am a member of as well.  We are called Patchwork and Prayer.  We get together weekly and sew.   We make quilts for children with catastrophic illnesses and try to minister to the family with these quilts.  The children get to pick the one they want and we work on it, praying over the recipient and their family.  I enjoy both venues.  Both are inspiring and enjoyable.  I am relatively new to quilting although I have sewn for years.  Learning new techniques, seeing new styles, plus we have a lot of very artistic people in the guild that encourage and inspire those of us that are not so artistic.  If it weren't for these, I would definitely not be the quilter that I am today.

Wish I did, but I don't think I would be able to get together with them very often because I work different hours every week.

I have not yet joined a guild, mainly as I do not have time enough to do what I want to do at home, never mind all the great charity work, exchanges, etc. that are part of belonging to a guild.  I realize that I likely miss a lot by not joining so will eventually do so.

No, live in a small community and the closest guild is too far away to be actively involved.  I do attend my daughters quilt group at a church whenever i am visiting her.  A lovely group of women who join together for prayer, devotions, refreshments and crafts.  Most are quilters, but some come and do needlework or knitting.

   I belong to a group, it's really a class that meets every Wed. I recommend that any new beginner do this. It is helpful to have people handy to ansewer questions. Some of our group are newbies and some are very experienced. Also, I don't need a lot of help but it is really nice to get together with other folks with a similar interest. I belong to a modern quilt guild.  

We meet once a month and share quilts, wall hangings, etc.  We have members who have been quilting for years and some who have just started.  Some members are into art quilt others traditional quilts.  We share ideas and help each other.  It is a great evening out.

local extension office once or twice a month.  We have a very talented leader who sometimes

designs quilt patterns that we all work on at the same time.  We also share in mystery quilts that

one of our members is responsible for and really enjoy seeing the final product.  We are not told

what the name of the design is.

I am part of a large quilt guild called PALS  (Patchers At the Lakeshore) in Muskekgon, MI.  We are now over 220 members.  I have belonged to Pals for 8 years, the last 2 on the board as the marketing person.  I love it.  5 of my quilting friends have also just started our own small bee, the Remnants.  We have only met one time but look forward to many years of fun and quilting!

Yes, I've been a member of my quilt guild for about 7 years.  I have learned so much about quilting, I've made quilts for charity and to help raise operating funds for the guild.  I've taught others different techniques.  It is the best learning tool ever, for a minimal cost (membership dues).

I'm not a member of a guild, but a friend taught me to layer a quilt and hand quilt.  We live in different states and get on skype to "hand quilt together" and we do block of the month together till we have enough for a quilt.  We are on our 2nd quilt together.  I have been watching lots of online videos and doing some online quilts, and block of the month, so have been learning a lot.

Our local guild, and my very  own friends meet once a month to stitch and visit.  Guild is very, very important to me.  We have wonderful speakers and charity events, giving quilts to various hospitals, homes and individuals.  My very own group of local friends have been meeting for years and years.  We have a wonderful time together and give each other advice and help if needed. I belong to the Southern Oregon Chapter of ASG, (American Sewing Guild).  I also belong to QCA and like to think of us as a quilting group.  I love to do community sewing and quilts and quilts of valor for veterans.  Due to circumstances I haven't been very active in either in months, but praise God that's about to change!

I am fortunate to belong to a group of quilters who meet once a month to work on our quilt projects.  Many of them are women who taught at my first LQS which closed about 5 years ago and I had classes taught by four of them.  These women are a diverse group but we all love getting together to let off steam, work on our projects and get - and give - advice & assistance.  We meet at an elementary school where three of the women work & we made a group quilt to hang in the school library.  The guilds near me are not very close to home work work & it's hard for me to get to meetings, so I think of this group & QCA as my guilds. The group gives me the chance to get some quilting done in a supportive, fun, creative atmosphere & I would not give it up now for anything in the world!

I belong to 2 groups. The first is a small group of like minded women who love all forms of craft and eating cake.

The second is a group at my local Craft Cottage. Over 60 members who also like to eat cake. We meet each week, hold an exhibition every 2 years, use our members expertise to run workshops and do demos for the members. We also have visiting tutors come for more detailed workshops and techniques. Belonging to a group is the best way to quilt, and eat cake.

I do not belong to a local quilting club or guild.  But I am a member of Quilter club of America and other quilting sites on line.  I work from home so to go out of the house is not something I can do easily.  I have been a member of QCA for a few years and am always surprised by all the changes and topics that quilters can share.  I look forward to meeting more quilters in the future.

I belong to a quilting circle. We meet once a week. One of us is responsible to make supper for the group. There can be anywhere from two to eight ladies. We all come from different work environment and are joined together by our love of quilting. We share info, help out when needed, make suggestions, laugh.  I would say it sometimes feel like talking to QCA friends that are right there with you.  Oh yeah, I also belong to QCA which is a big part of my life. For the first time I tried a mystery quilt and now am up to my third one! Each group is important in my life for different reasons. They both help me grow as a quilter and experiment different aspects of this art.

So I love reading everyones blogs and view tutorials and read lots of quilting magazines.I think it would be so much fun to belong to a quild or circle,maybe I can start one in my area .I am very new at quilting ,about 6mo,since I have retired.So I have lots to learn and look forwards to.

I belong to Ties, Needles, and Threads guild which meets in Glen Carbon, IL.  I joined four years ago at the invitation of a fellow quilter with whom I was taking a block of the month class.  We have a wonderful library, newsletter, speakers, and such talented members who inspire and encourage us all.  

Everyone here knows my quilt guild its QCA!  I'd say meetings are daily.  Everone is so knowledgable any new person is truly embraced and guided by many mentors. I know I truly appreciate all the useful advice.

Yes, I belong to a quilt guild and a stitch-in group.  I recommend these type of groups to everyone who is interested in learning to quilt or is already a quilter.  There is vast amount of knowledge to be had from the members for any level of quilter.  Our guild just held it's quilt show and and the energy to start new projects is high.  Not that we don't already have quilts in progress.  Come join the fun.

Yes I belong to Sioux Falls (SD) Quilt Guild.  We have monthly meetings with guest speakers.  It is a great way to learn of the quilting opportunities in the area and to learn new ideas and techniques.  One of the favorite parts of the monthy meetings is "Show and Tell".  I often get inspired by fellow quilt guild members.

Joining the Quilters Club of America last May was my first venture outside my home.  I am just learning the art of making a real quilt.  I have made several denim blue jean quilts and just knotted them.  My boys loved them and actually wore them out.  They want me to make new ones but I am hoping to get on to new and more advanced quilts.  I need all the help I can get.  I really appreciate all the videos that are available now for self help.

No--I don't belong to any group--They meet when I can't. I have 2 friends that belong to 2 different groups and get some info from them--I have been quilting for45 years and enjoy every minute of it. I have also taught some classes when I lived in New Hampshire.

I just joined a local guild and have jumped in with both feet by volunteering to sell raffle tickets and help set up their quilt show. I figure that was the best way to get acquainted with everyone.

I am about to join my first quilt guild.  I am newly retired and a newbie at quilting and hope the camaraderie and friendship will be what I am looking for. I love to learn new techniques.

I belong the River Valley Stitchers in Spring Green WI.  We meet once a month for various activities. We have made 'passage quilts' to cover body bags as they are carried from nursing homes, lap quilts for wheel chair patients, other charity projects as a need is seen, as well as lessons from group members or quilters from other groups, round robin quilts, and put on annual village quilt shows and do quilt show & tells at nursing homes.  Not all of the members are able to do quilting - some are handicapped or simply don't quilt but we have things they can do to help like pressing, passing parts from one person to another, squaring blocks, etc.  The group is geared to a social night out, community service projects, and support and encouragement of other members.

I belong to several groups and one guild.  The Fort Atkinson Piecemakers in Wisconsin which is my home guild.  While in Florida I belong to the Point Washinton Methodist Piecemakers. On line I belong to Charlottes Garden a charity quilt group.  The feeling you get working with other quilters of like minds is so inspirational.  You not only share quilt ideas, patterns and tips bit you share in the lives of your sister quilters.

While living in FL 18 years ago I belonged to a guild.  After having two children, I put my quilting aside and now that they are almost grown, I've picked it up again!  I hope to find a guild to join soon.

I belong to several groups, one guild, and several blogs.  The League of Northern Colorado Quilters which is my home guild.  My two main quilting groups are Quilty Buddies, we get together twice a month. Sometimes we quilt sometimes we just chat. The other group is Border Girls and right now we are doing a Round Robin. We get together once a month. I'm also part of QCA's Applique blog and Crazy Quilt blog. Busy, busy, busy. I love it!

Yes, I highly recommend joining a guild. I joined a local guild about 5 years ago and I have made some really great friends and have learned so much about quilting! It has been so much fun.  My guild meets in the evenings but there is a guild that meets about 15 miles from my house that meets during the day that I just joined also. Both guilds are very different in how they conduct their meetings, what charity work they focus on, etc.  The one constant is making new friends and learning about quilting. My advice would be to not give up if the first guild doesn't meet your needs/expectations - but do try to find one you enjoy!

While I was employed I did not have the time to look for and join a guild.  Being 'newly retired' and adjusting - I have not yet begun the search for a local group.

I belong to a wonderful group of women in an RV park in Yuma, Az....We have lots in common as we all travel to Yuma for the winter from all over the country and Canada, we all love to quilt and share experiences on the road, with sewing various patterns and various techniques. The majority of our quilts go to different charities in Yuma....for abused and neglected children, Hospice, Linus, and wounded service men and women.  I learn so much from these gals and I miss the comraderi we share.

Yes, I belong to a great once-a-week potluck and quilting group of about a dozen women that has been meeting for over 20 years.  My mother invited me to visit the group five years ago and I have been going with her weekly ever since.  It is such a joy to be able to share this experience weekly with my mother.  They are all wonderful ladies, friends, and a power house of knowledge and experience that they freely share.  Each year the group decides a theme and each lady contributes a block and one of us volunteers to put it together and quilt it.  Then the group quilt is presented to the winner of a drawing at our Christmas party.  We also each contribute fat quarters to a basket and a drawing winner receives the whole basket.  To me the quilting group is friends, family, inspiration, guidance, sharing, and joy.

I don't belong to a group per se.  I am very active on the Quilting Board, and that's where I go to learn new things and have my questions answered.  Great group of people, always willing to help.  I also am taking classes through "Quilty", and am learning a lot.  Their on-line classes are super.  I'm always on U-Tube, especially watching "How to quilt videos" put out by the Missouri Quilt Company.  I've done a number of web seminars on quilting.  I go to classes at two different Fabric Stores in the city, and they've had wonderful offerings.  I watch many quilting shows on TV.  I've invested in some lovely books and DVDs.  I've developed lovely on line relationships with 3 more experienced quilters, and although we don't always talk quilting, they're my "go to" people if I can't work something out.  And I quilt/practice a lot!  In about 3 weeks, I'm going to check out a quilting group that's available through a local church that is of my denomination.  A friend of mine attends the church, but doesn't do quilting, but wants to introduce me to the group.  I'll see if that might be a good fit for me.

I am in the "rapidly learning phase" of quilting, being a relative newbie, or perhaps better said, an old seamstress turned quilter. Quilting is a whole new skill set away from making clothing!  I have lots to learn, and I know it, and it excites me.  I'd love to be part of a group, and I'm doing what I can to have that experience.  I've contacted two guilds since I've been here.  Unfortunately, their goals don't match my own.  The first one was heavily into charity, which was fine, but their meetings consisted of a social event and dropping off your latest charity creation.  No learning.   In fact, I was indirectly told not to bother to join unless I could "keep up".  The other guild was more learning oriented, but it was advanced learning.  At my first meeting, one of the members told me "a newbie would have a hard time because they no longer cover the basics."  So perhaps I'll seek that one out when I've learned the basics.  I do see the value in being part of a group.

In Port Charlotte, Fl, Quilt Chicks is a small group that quilts mostly for Project Linus. However, we do round robins on occasion and teach each other new blocks and techniques. We meet at a local church and have 15-20 members during "season" and often during the summer there are only 3 or 4 of us, so we plan to meet at my home during this time! We can sew on the lanai, and cut at the counter~should be a lot of fun!

I belong to the best quilt guild in the world- The Mapleleaf Quilters! The benefits of belonging to a guild are almost innumerable- especially if the other members are as talented and willing to share their expertise as the ladies in my group are. What I have gained in friendship and quilting knowledge cannot be quantified- I am eternally grateful to each and every one of them. I would definitely recommend joining a good group!

I currrently do not belong to a group or quild.  I do have a number of knowledgable quilting friends, who have quilted for years and are treasures.  I would love to have half of their knowledge and talents.  I have learned a great deal from these ladies!

Yes I belong to piecemakers quilt quild. About 90 members. It,s great ,seasoned quilters share there knowledge helping each other . show and tells keep us wanting to do something new all the time.

I also help form a qroup of quilters 7 years ago. We get together once a month and tie quilts and give them to the needy. we work from donations and our own stashes. We also give many quilts for raffels for good causes. We are alway,s looking for places to give. We have given to local elementary schools for there sick rooms.  We have a wonderful potluck lunch. It is such a good time  to share, vent, and just know we have one another.  Love, Love, Love  how quilting brings us together.

I belong to a quilt group at our church (St. Joseph Peacemakers).  Currently, there are ten of us.  We meet every Tuesday for two hours.  We donate our quilts to various charitable organizations and our local hospital who sends each new baby home with a quilt or blanket. We also present our nursing home parishoners with a quilt at Christmas time.  We also donate to families who have lost their homes to fire regardless of whether or not they belong to our church.   A couple of years ago, we made 225 quilts to be sent to the orphans in Afghanistan   We made very simple ones as we were more interested in quantity at that time.  The longer we quilted, the more we learned and now make much more detailed ones.   We have become like a family throughout the years.  We enjoy each other's company. I wish I had more time to quilt for my friends and family. I have learned a lot from the free videos on Quilter's Club of America and Qnn TV,

Hi all, I don't belong to a formal guild.  I do have a circle of friends that I share quilting with but do not live close enough to have regular quilting bees. We  group quilt over the internet!!

I enjoy a broad range of sewing activities, including quilting.  I am a member of the American Sewing Guild - a great organization!

I am a beginner and do not belong to a quilting club/guild, want to join one as soon as I can. have friends who quilt quite well, and therefore, with my magazines, online help, and my friends, I should get a good start.  I so want to share quilts with my family which is quite large.

I have been a member of a quilt guild for almost five years.  It was very difficult for me to walk into that room of over a hundred strangers but I'm really glad I did.  I went because I wanted to meet some new friends.  I have!  VettekLisa said, "I have this phobia about people looking at things I am working on as I'm doing them."  We're not working on anything during the meetings and at workshops no one has time to look at your work, they're too busy working on theirs!  I don't like getting up for Show N Tell but I know that they can't see my mistakes or lack of skill from where they are sitting so I'm safe!  

We've had some wonderful speakers.  My favorite thing now is to walk into that room full of quilters knowing that we all love the same thing; quilts!

I belong to two Guilds at this time.

One is special to me.  When I moved to a new home 55 miles from my first guild, that I was sooo attached to and immersed in, this Golden Needles Quilt Guild in the Conroe area of Texas, welcomed me with open arms.  For the past 10+ years they have been supported in every way.  Artistically, physically, emotionally.  We can learn so much from each other. Both old and new ways of doing things.

My Bee is wonderful too.  Can't listen and learn enough.

If you are not a member of a Guild, give it a try.  Visit and listen to well known speakers and be sure to stay for show &tell. (That is where members show what they have been creating.)

I belong to a large Quilt Guild in Austin, TX-getting to the meetings is full of anxiety for me, but when I get there I am in awe of show and tell and the business like meeting setup, and the wonderful speakers that are usually there.

I belong to 2 quilt guilds and I'm president in one of them.  Bulls Gap Quilt Guild is great and we make quilts for the local hospice organization.  We are in the Appalachian area and have some people who need a lot of things and a warm quilt is the least we can do.  The other guild, Scrappers Quilt Guild is the other one and we are presently doing a BOM and gained about 15 or more new quilters back in Jan.  I just finished a Quilt of Valor that is going to a local serviceman presented from our guild.  We love to do quilts for all kinds of charities.  

I belong to a church quilt group. we are Patches n peacemakers.  We started the group 16 years ago. There are still 5 of us that have been there from the beginning. We meet every Tuesday from 6 to 9 PM.

We have a monthly meeting the first Tuesday of each month. We all bring show and tell, and have a pot luck.  When the group first started, we were all new quilters. The lady that started our quilt group said that she in visioned a bunch of ladies sitting in a circle quilting quilts. She hadn't bargained on having to be our teacher, but she did with a gracious heart.

The benefits of being in a group is that you can teach each other, have secret sisters,share patterns, do group quilts, do charity quilts, and enjoy each others company.  We also have block exchanges and fabric swaps. I like the fabric swaps the best because it teaches me to go out side the box. (scrappy is hard for me), but I love the scrappy quilts that have been made from the fabric swaps.

I would highly recommend a new quilter to join a group if possible.

I belong to a group.  Most were quilters at one time, some still quilt or do something like knitting.  A very knowledgable group of ladies of which I am the youngest. :)

Yes, I belong to a quilt guild. The benefits are almost too numerous to mention. We have 2 meetings a month, the first meeting being a lecture or trunk show from a well known quilter, and the 2nd meeting is our business meeting, and we have Quilt University, where some of our members teach or demonstrate a new technique or new tool they have found. We have a yearly quilt show, which is probably the best in our area. We also have workshops from well known quilters. If you ever have a problem or question about anything related to quilting there are always ladies and gents willing to share their knowledge. It's a great place to belong.

OMG, I sat here on the computer last weekend looking for a quilt guild to join.  There is one that meets all year except May (because of Mother's Day) on Sunday's.  It's a bit of drive but I am hoping it is a group for me.

I belong to two quilt guilds.    Both sew quilts to give to  the veterans.  The one with two hundred plus members gave 249 quilts to people who lost their homes due to fires last summer.   They also have a huge quilt show annually.  This is a city with approximately 100,000 people.  Small in comaprison to other cities.   Both do so many wonderful things,  I feel honored to be a part of their memberships.

I belong to 2 quilt guilds and one small quilt circle.  I have learned much and had made great friends through the guilds in the area.  I recommend it to anyone wanting to learn how to quilt or to just make friends with great women!  I have served many different jobs within both guilds and have loved that too - we give quite a bit to our communities too and that is a fun part of quilting.

No I don't belong to any quilters guilds ..well yes I do on facebook and am doing birthday block of the month...FQ exchange...and random BOM exchange...love it..and definately would recommend because you meet people from all over the world and become friends and share many stories from quilting to family along with laughter and tears. Another family to love .

I don't belong to a guild at this time. However, a new one is starting up in my area and I plan on checking it out. I occasionally quilt with friends. I find this very helpful and it doesn't cost anything. The downside of this is that we live in different states so we don't get together as much as I would like. It does help to have others that you can bounce ideas off of and get suggestions. Sometimes when I get stuck I ask my friend and she usually has the answers to my dilemmas. Of course, it works both ways. When she has a problem I give her suggestions as well.

Yes, I belong to Twin City Quilters Guild.  The "twin city" refers to Tonawanda and North Tonawanda, NY.  Have been a member for several years, during which time I have been on the Board and have chaired committees.  Many workshops and classes are offered throughout the year for both beginners and more advanced quilters.  There is a "Show & Share" at each monthly meeting - it's fun seeing what others are working on.  We are involved with Project Linus, make Breast Cancer Comfort Pillows and chemo caps, wheelchair/walker bags for nursing homes, and many other charity projects.  Our quilt show is held every other year.  It's great being part of a group - we share ideas, learn from each other.

I technically do not belong to an official quilt guild etc., BUT my 2 buddies and I are all 3 into quilting retreats and set up sewing days for our friends, regularly! We 3 just got home from a "private' retreat we set up for ourselves this past weekend. We stayed at a quilter's retreat apartment all set up just for quilting, located above a quilt shop! They let us run a tab, as if......!

Yes.  I belong to Sun Bonnet Sue Quilt Club.  The friendships formed, the educational opportunities, the classes, road trips, community services.............all this and much more are fantastic.  I learn something new every Wednesday, which is the day my Club meets.  Joining a quilt club or guild allows us to bond with our community in ways that are unique, memorable, charitable and FUN.  Oh, yeah.  There's also the bonus of getting out of the house for one day a week and be with creative, funny and supportive friends!!

Yes.  It is a group started at our local library though RSVP volunteers.  We call our group "Always in Stitches" because we are always laughing.  All the men and women in this group are so good and good friends.  It was what I was looking for when I started quilting and had no one to share my excitement about quilting. Friends who quilt.  Our group has grown in the last few years.  This past March we has a service project for Project DJ. (quilts for kids in hospital) We made 25 quilt tops!.  We all look forward to Tuesday mornings at the library.

Yes, The Thousand Islands Quilters' Guild. I joined when I moved to the Brockville area a few years back, and now I feel right at home.

I just joined a guild this year.  Its wonderful!  I've been alone in quilting for so long, these ladies love to share ideas and their quilts.  Each month a speaker comes in and teaches a new techniques.  I'd encourage everyone to join a local group.   We also make quilts for the local police department to give to kids, kids hospital quilts, BOM's...theres just tons of things they offer.

I live an hour north of Toronto and belong to 2 quilt guilds (one large with 240 members, one small with 65 members) and 2 small sewing groups.  Fortunately these get-togethers are evenly spread out over the month, which results in me being out with one group or another each week.  This regularity helps me 'move along' my quilting projects, but it also provides me with rewarding social gatherings with stitching friends and acquaintances who have a common passion for textiles.  The 2 guilds add the extra benefits of monthly speakers, workshops and retreats which keep me motivated to learn new techniques and designs.  My guilds also offer the opportunity to 'give back'  through the making of preemie quilts, 'comfort' quilts and pet beds for various local charities.  When I joined the large guild over 20 years ago, it was hard to break in, but volunteering for one of the committees made all the difference in building connections.  

I haven't joined a guild but I met some wonderful ladies (a few work at JoAnns) and we started having a quilt social.  We have some very experienced quilters and some newbies such as myself.  I find that I can ask them questions and they will show me and we have such fun talking about the things we are working on.  I truly appreciate the things I have learned from these ladies and guess what I passed a few things to them and they were glad for what little I knew.

During my year as president of the Arkansas   Quilters Guild, my h usband was transferred to northwest Arkansas. So I gathered up those members and started Q.U.I.L.T. of Northwest Arkansas, which now has about 175 members.(That is an acronym for Quilters United In Learning Together). We have monthly meetings featuring well=known speakers and their workshops,, plus some Super Saturday Sew-Ins offered by our members. We have an annual retreat and a major show with nationally-known judges every other year. We maintain a non-profit status by contributing programs for schools, area agencies;  and ma king Quilts of Valor, etc. We have several breakout groups. I am one of the Sew Whats. We meet every week., and try to avoid appointments on that day because we value the friendship and knowledge we share with one another. Quilting friends are Precious Friends!

I belong to 2 chapters (A-Z Quilters & Quilters Anonymous) & AZ Quilt Guild (State).   Each chapter has annual or semi-annual retreats that are a lot of fun and you learn so much from each other.  Some of the best tips or techniques I have ever learned are from other quilters (either at a retreat or at project nights).  Each of the chapters I belong to have monthly business meetings as well as various types of lessons (paper piecing, basic rotary cutting tips, beading, etc), guest speakers (Kaye Woods, Karen Stone, etc.), BOM demos & the monthly block ‘drawing’, show n’ tell, group challenges, or project nights where we work on the charity projects.  Those are quilts or other projects that are distributed to police and fire departments, various children's charities, VA hospitals, homeless shelters, military care boxes and hospice.  I would highly recommend that a new quilter or someone who quilts and is new to the area join a guild.  They can learn so much from the other quilters, make friends quickly, and the fellowship with other quilters cannot compare anywhere else! The State Guild has quarterly meetings and is able to hire national quilter who then teaches classes in various locations so the majority of the members are able to take advantage of learning from them.  There are chapters that meet during the day and those that meet in the evenings....so there should be one that fits the needs of everyone!  Also, most quilters I've met are Christians, caring, and so willing to be helpful to all.

No, I don't belong to a quilt guild. I'm thinking of joining the local one, but just haven't gotten around to it yet.  I always love the awesome quilts at the local county fair and I would really like to meet some of these talented quilters.

I am a member of a quilt guild. I joined shortly after I began to quilt, and the help I received was very helpful.  I highly recommend joining one in you area. The members are very willing and able to share their tips and tricks and help you with any problems you may have.

I belong to 2 guilds!  I have made some very good friends and learned from other members and great speakers.  I highly recommend joining a gould if possible.

Technically no, but I love QCA and have been on the Sewing Team for Soldiers' Angels, a non-profit organization,  for several years,  sewing in quilts, fleece blankets, patriotic pillowcases, and other items that are sent to the wounded soldiers and stateside veterans.

A little over 30 years ago 2 other ladies and myself approached our Park & Rec department with a request for them to sponsor our newly formed quilt guild in Turlock, CA.  It was a win/win situation for us because we were able to use a city building for our meetings and we promoted our local area.  A couple of years later I was the chairman for our very first quilt show, with a committee of 5.  We had the show in the Senior Citizens building and it was well attended.  We now do a show every other year and it is held at the County Fairgrounds.  I am the only one left of the founding members but we do still have 7 charter members who regularly attend our meetings.  I was the first member to be elected two years in a row to the office of President.

About 20 years ago I was invited to join a friend at a retreat with the quilt guild in Modesto, CA, Country Crossroads Quilters, and at the time I was not a member of that guild.  We had a great weekend, did a lot of sewing and eating and talked about the next time we would go up to the cabin.  I was told that if I wanted to attend the next retreat I needed to become a member of the guild.  Well, I had such a good time the first time that I had no problem with becoming a member of that guild.  Like I said that was about 20 years ago and I've paid my dues regularly every year but we have not been on another retreat like that!!  I am currently in my second year as Vice-President and 4 years ago served as President.  The Turlock guild has about 65 members and Modesto hovers around 145.  The friendships I have formed with both of these guilds are priceless.  Sometimes our husbands or significant others don't quite understand us or our objectives but our "quilt sisters" certainly do and are more than willing to help out whenever needed.

I do not belong to a quilt guild because our small town does not have one. But there are a bunch of ladies that get together to quilt and gab... maybe when I'm old enough I'll join - hahahaha!

I belong to a group we call Needle Nuts.  As the name implies, we do needlework of all kinds: cross stitch, needlepoint, knitting, sewing, and quilting. I enjoy belonging to this group not only for the camaraderie, but also for the expertise of the members. There's always someone who knows how to do something or show us a technique. We also bring ideas for future projects to inspire each other, and once or twice a year we go on our own shop hop, hitting places we have really liked in the past and those we've never visited before. This group started shortly before I moved to our retirement dream place eight years ago, and it has grown and strengthened over the years.

I belong to the Scrubgrass Stitchers Quilt Guild in western Pennsylvania. I've only been a member for a few months, but have learned a lot since joining. I think every serious quilter can learn something by joining a guild. If there is one in your area, you should join. If there is no guild in your area, find severall quilters and start your own guild. I enjoy talking to other quilters. This is a good place to do that.

Just joined a guild, already stepped up to co-chair a committee, love the speakers that are brought in, and plan to attend a workshop.  I'm so inspired by the energy and projects of the other members.

No, I tried a couple around town, and they were not very welcoming.

I actually belong to two Quilt Guilds,. One meets in the evening twice a month and the other meets in the morning twice a month, I love the inspiration and fellowship of these guilds.

I do not belong to a Guild or a Club, but I wish I did.  There is only one anywhere near me but they

meet in the early evening.  That would not be too bad, but as the time changes and the days grow

shorter, it would be dark going to the meeting let alone coming home.  I do not drive after dark

anymore and therefore, I would only be a true member for half the year.  That being so, it is not fair

to me, or to the other members, when I cannot attend.  I do not work so an afternoon meeting time

would be ideal for me, as well as others that don't work and don't like being out after dark.  I believe

the knowledge base in these groups is beyond the yearly fee, and then there is tricks of the trade of

quilting to be learning also.  Yes, I wish I belonged to a Guild.  Someday.

I belong to Thimblebuddies of the Treasuer Coast in Port St. Lucie, FL. I love going to the meetings because we have great fun but also we have guest presenters who are nationally known quilters.  Not only do they have an interesting presentation but the following day is usually a workshop to learn from them.  Our guild also does charity projects which is alway fullfilling for us and helps someones day a little brighter.  We share tricks of the trade and get to have show and tell at the end of the general meeting.

I joined a quilt club with my mother. My childern both recently granduated from college got jobs and moved away from home, my husband took up wood working and i began quilting. I have had so much fun learning from the other women. They took me under their wing and made me feel proud of my work. I learn something every month not only about quilting techniques, but lifes little secrets and acceptance. This is another chapter of my life and I am really loving it~

I belong to Vicoria's Quilts of Lindsay.  This group makes quilts for patients undergoing chemotherapy.  Having cancer patients or their families telling us how much comfort the patients receive from our quilts makes it a very worthwhile endeavour.  I also belong to the Lindsay, Ontario Canada quilt guild.  Lots of fun and informative trunk shows and workshops.  Quilting -- what a fun thing to do.

I belong to Houston Modern Quilt Guild.  It is filled with skilled quilters of all ages.  It has long meetings where some members or visitors share techniques.  We are new so we just started a library.  We donated to Quiltcon for 2013 so we get a discount on all our classes and entry fees.  We have swaps, challenges, etc each month.  We make birthday gifts for the person who has a birthday right after ours .  we have a retreat, and various parties through out the year.   There are supposed to be sew-ins also.  We create and donate charity quilts, clothes, etc for a homeless shelter or other groups yearly also.

I  belong to the Cumberland County Quilt Guild. It's a wonderful group of ladies who support the community with various projects. We have provided charity quilts for auctions throughout the community as well as providing quilts to the local police department. Before this guild I belonged to the Florida Cabin Fever Quilt Guild. Being part of such wonderful, community serving groups is great.

Yes - I belong to the Evergreen PieceMakers Quilt Guild out of Kent, WA (although I live in Portland OR) so that I can continue to attend my favorite quilt retreat every October; and I volunteer for KPQuilters - sponsored by Kaiser Permanente NW, we make quilts for CARES NW, an organization helping abused children in our community.

 Yes, I do belong to a small Quilt Guild (26 members), we are "The Quirky Quilter's" located in Hebron, Il.

We have a BOM every year which can be anything from Applique, Sampler to Mystery quilts.  We do monthly program from Shop Hops, Picnics & Workshops given by outside sources or someone in the guild

who has learned something new she wishes to pass on.

  I have learned a lot from these lovely ladies and we have helped several organizations by donating or raffling off one of our BOM quilts.

The only thing I belong to is this club, QCA and that is enough for me right now.  i do have a sew along going on over at my blog and am always in the middle of planning, scheming and whatever else I can get into.  I have decided this years retreat will be at the lake in my camper since I missed out on Barbara's retreat to Iowa.  I believe it was booked solid before they finished last years retreat.  C'mon Barbara, some of us want to go too!  >)

I do not belong to a local club or guild.  There are a few in my area but none were really my speed (day time meetings, large groups, selective on membership, no younger members). I'm a younger sewer with little ones at home.  I'm trying to connect with other younger sewers in my area and those interested in modern quilting. I know that it would be a great experience.

Yes --I belong to a fine group who sew and quilt. We get many helpful answers to our problems and someone is always coming up with new ideas for us to try. I also am currently a member to some online quilting sites. All are very helpful, including this(QCA) club.

I belong to a quilt guild, which meets five times a year.  At three or more of these meetings we have a nationally or regionally known quilting speaker.  The guild also quilts for charity and sponsors a yearly quilting retreat.

The more the merrier.  Many of our local groups meet during the days or overlap my other 1st and 2nd Saturday activities.  I'm happy to go online and find some of the online charity groups and stitch projects to submit.

I belong to a great group in rural NE Mississippi; our members come from 3 states in a 75 miles radius.  We have a handwork day once a month in addition to monthly program/meeting.  This year we will have our biennial quilt show "The Magic of Quilts" September 21-22 in Iuka, MS. This guild is active in charity projects, education through monthly programs, annual Kids Can Quilt Class, classes with professional teachers, and an annual quilting retreat at a state park. We have a great time.

I do not belong a quilters guild although I have been looking into going to one.  There isn't one in my home town.  I do have 4- 6 ladies who come every Friday to work on quilts and spend sometime together. It is always a lot of fun and inspiration.

In the past I tried to work out joining a local quilt group, I even joined the county guild. It's just too difficult for me to physically schedule it enough. You really need to get there in order to develop relationships. I participate online in Flickr groups, or things I read about in blogs that work with my time schedule. I think most people are in the same boat and make an effort to "connect". It's really been a good thing for me.

I didn't [belong to a guild] for the longest time. I thought, "Hey, I've taken a few classes, I know how to read, what could they possibly teach me that I don't already know?" How so very wrong was I?

Since I have joined my little Thornapple River Rippers Guild in Hastings, Michigan I have already learned more then I thought possible. You can see some of my work on Aniko Feher's web site (this is the latest class I have attended thanks to our Guild).

My advice is to join something (club, guild, whatever) to broaden your mind, your endless possibilities, but moreover, creativity!!!

I belong to the Illinois Valley Quilters' Guild in Ottawa IL.  It is one of the most creative, fun groups I've known.  I have met so many wonderful quilters, and made some of the greatest friends through this group.

I have belonged to a local guild for 26 years as well as two state guilds.  I also belong to a group that is all volunteer that custom hand quilt for others.  I have been with them for 22 years.  I also am a member of a small group that gets together 3 to 4 times a year for a weekend to quilt.  All of these are important to me.  I have learned so much from the members as well as the speakers and teacher that come to the guilds. I would definitely recommend the guilds to anyone interested in quilting.  The small groups are like family.  We support one another in good times and bad and are a great source of comfort and joy.  

I belong to two different guilds.  Both of them meet once a month. One club is very small with only 11 members and the other is larger with around 25 members.  It is great to belong to a guild.  You learn a lot from the other quilters and they have very good advice to share with new quilters and they love to share!!!!

I have recently joined a quilt guild and find it very rewarding.  I have already learned many little tricks of the trade and have made great new friends.  

No, I don't belong to a quilt guild. There is one in my area, but they have their meetings when I am working.  Hopefully, when I retire, there will still be a group to join.

My goodness, yes.  I belong to two quilt clubs--one is very organized and holds a quilt show every two years; the other is very social and relaxed.  I also belong to a quilt bee called Scrap Happy.  All three are great places to learn new techniques and trends, and to get help with any quilting problems.  Everyone is very supportive.

I do belong to a Thursday night sewing circle of women. We all have such a great time.

I am a member at large in the Arizona Quilters Guild.  I'm not able to make the meeting for a local quilt guild and being a member of the state guild keeps me connected and informed.  I also enter a quilt in the annual quilt show.  I would love to belong to a local guild.

I belong to no groups,I kind of do my own thing.I think it would be fun to belong but haven't yet.

Yes, in fact, I belong to two. One mets every second and fourth Saturday of the month. I have been a member of this group for two years. I also belong to a group that meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month. Both have helped me in quilting. We learn a new techniques and share experiences. These groups help me to grow into a better quilter with their love and support.

I'm not in a guild.  I did BOM at one point, but had to drop out when I deployed for a year.  Since I've been back, I have not rejoined yet.

Oh yes! I belong to the Quilter's Guild Acadienne in Lafayette, LA (nearly 200 members), and the KOA Quilters, plus I am considering joining the Gulf States Quilter's Association. We have such fun, have a number of very active, talented quilters, many that work on charity projects as well as their own, and several subgroups pursuing special interests in the quilting world. We have retreats, circuit teachers, presentations by our members,etc. The love, support and inspiration from all my quilty sisters is beyond compare!

No, but I hope to join a group when I retire from my full-time job in a few months.  I would like to be able to share my love of all things to do with quilting with others that enjoy the same.  I enjoy making my quilts, but I also enjoy learning about quilt history, and seeing the work of other quilters.  I am a new member to this club, and love it.

I belong to a guild * "Quilters Squared". We meet on the 2nd Tuesday evening every month at Redemer Luthern church here in Midland..We didn't always meet there, before we met at the  Midland Pubblic Schools Administration building they let us use a room therefor many  many years.Quilters Squared used to go by the name Q2* for short ( think mathematically!). With a guild we meet from Sept to June. Each meeting we either have a well-known quilter/speaker or a member teching a new technique.. We have a Quilt show every April. Every meeting  we have "show and tell" which is always well received we also have a drawing (2/tickets for $1) and each month a different member donates a prize ( a fat Qtr bundle and a pattern for it or something else that everyone can use). Last month the prize was a beautiful and large hanging basket of flowers. Most everything is value of $15-$20. You meet a wide variety of gals, all ages from beginners to old sages like me.. everyone likes the same thing... quilts,making quilts, seeing quilts and learning new tricks for making quilts.

Yes, I belong to a Guild as well as a small group.  To me the biggest advantage is learning from someone who figured out an easier way to do some technique, or how they have found a certain tool to be helpful in more than the way it was designed.  The Guild bringings in outside speakers to either introduce us to a new technique, make us aware of their shop, or just give us information to inspire new projects.

No, unfortunately I don't belong to a guild. There is a great one, but I live an hour away. Maybe someday I can!

No I don't....it would probably be fun altho those types of things are not quite my style. I'd rather be home sewing.

It is difficult for me to belong to a group that has set meeting times because of health issues. I do not know from day to day if I will be able to leave the house or even do something in the house. I have a friend who has the same issue and another friend whose schedule changes frequently. Together we formed an artisan group, wherein we accept people doing all sorts of crafts, not just quilting. The criteria for being a member of this group is that you must enjoy doing crafts and you must have a disability. We try to meet as often as we can, but only when at least 3 people can meet. We keep in contact via email and Facebook and our group even has its own Facebook page. We give each other ideas and feedback. It is so very free-ing to be able to belong to a group that doesn't demand anything from you; to be able to participate only when you feel up to it and not have to force yourself to go to a meeting when you aren't feeling well.

No, I don't belong to a group, circle, guild or club. However, one of my LQS has very recently moved so that they are Right Next to my post office. They have get togethers and classes that I am thinking of joining.

Yes, I belong to a quilt group. I look forward to meeting friends each month and learning new techniques. I would recommend others to join. I want to start a group where we make only quilts to give to others: soldiers, children, etc.

I belong to a quilt guild and I also belong to a small sit n sew group that meets every Thursday.  Most times we work on our own projects, but on the 4th Thursday we meet all day and work on pro bono quilts for a children's hospital, ConKerr cancer, Quilt of Valor and Project Linus.  I have really learned a lot from the older members of our small group.

I belong to a block of the month group at our local fabric store.  It is really fun to come together once a month and share what we're doing, sharing the successes and not so happy endings or to ask to suggestions to a current problem or challenge.  Also since all of our blocks are made out of the same fabrics, it's cool to see how others change to other fabrics and change the look so dramatically.  Lots of good ideas!

I have belonged to the Kaleidoscope quilter's branch of Pine Tree Quilter's Guild of Maine since 1987.  I was on the board of directors for 6 years.   I have been president of my chapter and program chair for several years in the past.   I love the guild!  It allows us to learn and teach each other.  We make many charity quilts for Linus, Vets, local hospitals for babies and cancer patients,  also put comfy quilts in police cars to give kids in need of a hug.  It also gives us the opportunity to meet with world renown quilters.  Ramona of Maine

I belong to several quilt groups and clubs.  I have met wonderful people who share talent, knowledge and are an inspiration to my quilting adventure.  

I belong to 2 guilds, one of which I've been able to attend most meetings this year.  This is my first year being a member in either & I have learned so much from so many kind, supportive members! I joined after being encouraged by a dear quilting friend, who said I needed more "girl friends"! It has been a blessing and a half.  I have explored new techniques, visited quilt shows & shops, and joined a sit n stitch to make new friends.  I am so glad I expanded my circle of friends and my quilt knowledge by joining a guild.

No i dont belong to a club or guild, i know no one who quilts and there is no club or guild near me, which for me is why QCA is worth its weight in Gold,  there is always someone to inspire, help, groups to join no matter what technique, and all with such a great sense of humour, for me QCA members are my club and guild, have inspired me beyond belief, shown me new ways of doing things, and just ways of doing things right so i dont give up, i quilt more now ive joined QCA than ever before.

Yes  I belong to Lavender Mountain Quilt Guild in Rome, Georgia.  I enjoy the social aspect of the ladies and all the activities available.  I am  a new quilter and am learning from the ladies.  I would recommend a guild to amyone wanting to continue to learn and want the companionship.

Yes, I recently joined a quilt group that meets the third Tuesday of every month in one of the group member's homes.  I get so much out of it...SO glad I joined.  It didn't cost anything, and I leave having learned so much.  I highly recommend joining a quilting group for the benefits of getting ideas and tips from other quilters, as well as making friends with people who share the same interests.  I was having a hard time understanding a pattern I needed for a quilt, and took the pattern to last month's group get-together and a few of the ladies explained it to me.  Then I was able to complete the quilt top!

Yes, I've been a member of my quilt guild for about 7 years.  I can't count how many times I've benefited from the collective experience in that group.

No, but only due to scheduling conflicts. The one local group meets when I work bioth days. The other one doesn't have any contact details besides physical address so I can't contact them to find out when they meet.

My guild is TNT (for Ties, Needles, and Threads) in Glen Carbon, IL.  It meets on the second Tues. of each month and averages about 75 members--very talented quilters and other needlecrafters.  We enjoy wonderful programs and follow each other's progress with a monthly Show and Tell as well as posting to our website.  Our newsletter keeps us updated as well.  Very inspirational!  I love it.
