I would love to quilt with Marianne Fons.  She is great and so talented!  She is such a good teacher. I watch her every week on PBS.

I would love to spend the day quilting with Jenny Doan from Missouri Star Quilt Company.  I've learned so much from her tutorials.

I would love the opportunity to just spend one day quilting with my granny.  She passed away before I had the opportunity to do spend this kind quality time with her, and she was my inspiration to become the quilter I am today.  

My mom.  I didn't have time to quilt with her when she was alive.  I hope she would be proud of what I do today.

There are so many people that I would love to spend a day with: Marianne Porter and Eleanor Burns, for example. But the people I would most love to quilt with for a day would be my mother and grandmother, both of who are deceased, and my sister. These 3 women provide so much love and inspiration in my life. I can remember my grandmother teaching me how to use a pedal sewing machine when I wasn't even a teenager yet. These women are my daily inspiration, and I would absolutely love to spend one more day with them.

I would love to have a day with Debbie Mumm.  Her designs have always been some of my favorites, especially for appliqued quilts for kids.

I would love a day with my daughter Sandy. She lives in Idaho while I live in. Illinois. I really miss her and trying to give her tips over the phone is difficult. It would be nice to help her in person.

I would love to spend a day quilting with my husband's paternal Grandmother.  I never had a chance to meet her; but everyone who knew her has said I would love her, that we have so much in common.  She did not have much, so her quilts were made all made from scraps of fabric; but they were beautiful.  I would love to share my fabric stash with her; I can only imagine what she could do with it!  I could learn so much from her, and not only about quilting.

I would love to quilt with Alex Anderson. Her books are written the way my head works. Yet I have so much to learn, I think I might really get the hang of machine quilting if I could do it with her!

I would love to quilt with my best friend, Jane Keller.  She and I started quilting in 1995.  We recorded  quilting programs and re-watched them.  We traveled to quilting schools in East Tennesse.  We met and quilted with many of the top teachers.  Worked with the local quild, and shopped for fabrics.  We took our sewing machines to the beach our vacations.  Jane passed away in 2005 and I miss her greatly.

I would love to quilt with my paternal grandmother.  After she died, it was discovered that she had made five quilts.  I picked up quilting before I ever knew she had quilted.  I am the only other person in my family who quilts.

I would love to spend a day with Patsy Thompson to learn her secrets for feathers and machine quilting, which I cannot do.

I think the one I would like to quilt with is Jenny Beyer's. Her quilts are something else.

I think I would pick ELEANOR BURNS, as she is a hoot.  She teaches us as if we were kindergarten children and we learn from her explaining every detail.

If I have to pick just one it would be Eleanor Burns.  There are so many that I would love to spend a day quilting with it would take weeks to have a day with each one....now wouldn't that be great fun if you could have a day with each of them!

Eleanor Burns hands down.  I've learned so much from her through her YouTube videos and books, not only is she enlightening, she's entertaining.  

Oh, my! If I quilted with a "famous" person - such as Eleanor Burns, Alex Anderson, or Marianne and Liz, I wouldn't be paying much attention to my own "groove" -and - well, you get my point.  It would be my grandmother for sure! She lived far away, and as I realized what a treasure her quilts were, all I could do was discuss them with her in mail or over the phone before she acquired Alzheimer's and then passed away.  I keep looking at the baby quilts she made for my kids, and I marvel at the hand stitching - 11 stitches to the inch, nothing less! I made 2 quilts for her after her memory started to slip, both of which ended up hanging as exhibits in her honor at the Colorado State Capitol for the summers of 2009 & 2011. How I wish I had her still here.....

I would love to quilt with Bonnie Hunter of quiltville.com.  I really adore her scrap quilts.

I would for sure chose my mother, and Sister. My mother passed several years ago unexpectedly. She loved to sew when we were growing up. I hated to sew!!! I would love to see her surprise at my finished quilts now. I hope she would be proud of me . I know she would have hundreds of quilts that I would have made just for her!! My sister lives in Texas, and sews like a pro.  One day with her would be a blessing for sure!!!

My Dad's Mom.  She died in 1970, but I have one of her quilts.  I would love to get to know her better.

I would love to spend the day with the widows and abandoned women of Nepal to whom I have taught to quilt.  They use their skill to create quilts and other quilted things which they can sell in our shop in KTM.  They have regained their self respect and can provide income for their children.  (These women are often kicked out of their families and villages because they are "bad luck.)  They love the social interaction and support quilting together provides.  So do I!  

I would like to spend a day with Jodie Davis. She is so entertaining and we could have a great time paper peicing.

I would love to quilt with Verna Mosquera.  I love her applique work.  It would be a joy to sit and stitch the day away with her.

My Great-Grandmother, she was a utility quilter who would have loved all the new gadgets and fabrics we have now.  She passed away before I began to quilt but I remember how she created beautiful quilted pieces to be used as potholders or table trivets.  I would love to have day to just talk and introduce her to the "quilting" I know.

I would love to spend the day quilting with my mom. She has been a quilter for 20 years and I had never paid much attention to her quilting. I just kept telling her she needed to finish some of her many unfinished projects (silly me). Now that I have been quilting for a couple of years and have my own pile of unfinished projects I wish that we lived closer to each other so we could work on them together. Spending the day quilting with her and learning from her would be a wonderful blessing.

I would like to spend the day quilting with my husband and sister.  My husband is really artistic and creative -- he could design a quilt and my sister & I would enjoy picking the fabric and seeing his design come alive.

I would like to have been able to quilt with my Great-Great Grandmother.  My mother recently gave me the 3 pieces that My GG Grandmother was working on after she had a stroke and before she passed away.  Most of the work was done by hand. (Something I'm not good at.) I think she could have taught me so much about quilting/stitching by hand  and just imagine the stories she could tell about the cloth she was using.  Her hand sewing was amazing and to see the different type of material she used, old drapes, shirts and dresses. I finished the cot size quilt for my Mother.  The Mosaic star piece is being framed. It's 45 x 45 and in fragile condition.  There were also 15 squares similar to the churh dash pattern which I'm framing for other family members.

There are Sooo many that I would love to quilt with, but my 1st pick would have to be McKenna Ryan.  I adore her work and patterns.

That's a hard question, there are so many inspiring teachers/quilters out there.   I probably would pick Teri Atkinson from Atkinson Designs.   We do her Groovy Girls Sewing Club at our local quilt shop and we have learned so many time saving techniques...It would be fun to share some time with her.

I lost my 28 year old daughter 6 years ago. If I could quilt with anyone for a day it would be her. She loved to sew and won all kinds of awards in 4-H growing up. I would love to have her sew with my new machine.

I love how she uses her exceptional mathematical skills and her "thinking-outside-the-box" techniques to come up with and share easy ways to make otherwise complicated blocks. With her step-by-step guidance,she has her followers looking  like professionals. That's a unique talent!

My Grandma, Pearl. She passed away when I was young and all her quilts have been "used up." It would be great to go back and stitch one with her to have as a keepsake. How she had time to quilt with 15 kids on the farm, I'll never understand!

For me it'd be Jinny Beyer.  I'd love to pick her brain about fabric/color use.  Maybe she'd give me some free samples of her fabrics, too.  Well it doesn't hurt to wish, right?  

I love using Jinny Beyer fabric so my choice would be her.  I have a good size stash of her fabric.  I love all of her fabric collections.  I have some of her fabric that I am afraid to cut - too beautiful for me to mess up.  

For me it would be Alex Anderson.  I would love to learn to hand quilt. She does such a beautiful job.  I want so much to be able to make heirloom quilts for my children.  I currently have to send anything that is bigger than a crib quilt out to be long armed.  Ricky Tims would be a close second.  I love his one seam flying goose.  I used that techique to make 2 baby quilts.  They were so fast and easy.  But Alex wins out over everything.  I sure miss her simply quilts show on hgtv.

I would quilt with Eleanor Burns.  In high school, I hated home economics sewing.  In fact, I once asked my teacher, "Why can't we sew something with straight lines?"  "Oh, Elizabeth!" she replied.  Years later, I happened upon Eleanor Burns' PBS series Quilt In a Day.  Her lively spirit and quirky sense of humour caught my attention, and I would watch regularly, even though I did not sew or quilt.  Later still, when both our children had grown and left home for university I felt rather at sea, and searched for something to do to fill many empty hours.  Then, about 1990, I remembered Quilt in a Day, and started to quilt.  I have been quilting ever since.  I recently discovered the Quilt In a Day website, and have spent many hours in the last few weeks, sharing my mentor's joy in life once again.

I would love to quilt with my friend Vicki who lives in California.  She got me into quilting 4 years ago after my husband passed away.  She didn't realize it at the time, but she created a monster.  I took a couple classes and was on my way.  I've made at least 40 quilts since then and still going strong.  I make quilts for cancer survivors as donations as well.  One day, not long ago, we talked to each other on the phone, both on speaker and sewed while we talked.  It was so much fun.    We finally had to hang up when her battery went low.  When she came to visit last year, I'd get up in the morning, go to the kitchen to put on the coffee and she was already sewing downstairs waiting for me to get up.  We had such a wonderful time.  And laughed a lot.  I'd love for us to get together again.

So many quilters I would love to quilt with, but to select just one, I would pick Pearl P. Pereira.  I so admired her work.

If I could quilt with one person it would be my former babysitter and unofficial 3rd Grandma Helen Woelfel.  She was an amazing quilter and I wish I had the opportunity to learn from her.  She is the person that taught me to love and respect quilts.

I'd love to travel into the future and quilt with my daughter when she's an adult.  She's only 7 now and we're working on her first project.  We're having a good time but I'd love to be able to sit beside her and work on a project together as adults as well.  It would be so amazing to see the differences both in our work now and then and in who she is going to be.  I cherish our time together now but I sincerely hope I have the chance to fulfill my future quilty dream.

I'd like to spend a day sewing with Bonnie Hunter. I took a workshop with her, but didn't get to spend one-on-one or small-group time, so that would be my choice.

I think I would choose to quilt with my daughter-in-law's mother, Linda.  Unfortunately, she passed away before we really got to know each other.  She was a fabulous hand quilter, who hated piecing (which I love) so we would have worked really well together.

I would spend the day with my daughter.  The quilt would be the bonus, its  the time together that I would treasure.  

If I could quilt with anyone for a day, it would be my great grandmother Emmy Berhalter.  When my grandmother died we found blocks that Great Grandmother Emmy had done in a drawer in one of the bedrooms.  We knew they were her's because grandmother, or my aunt or mother didn't sew.  I have since put the blocks together and made table toppers for my dinning room tables with them, which was one of my first projects that started my new habit!! I would have loved to sit and sew with her for a day!!

Since anyone could mean more than one person, I would choose Jinny Beyer, Carol Doak and Eleanor Burns.

I would love to have a day to quilt with my grandmother.  She was my hero when I was little and I lost her way too soon.  To be able to quilt with her would be a special dream come true.

The one person who I would love to spend a day quilting with would be my Grannie.  She died when I was  only eleven.  She was a praire farmers wife and was really good at using up any scraps that she had for quilting.  And she made the best dougnuts around.

How to narrow this down...think...think...think...from the past, my grandmother. Mom never sewed but grandma sewed everything including a few polyester quilts from scraps she had from clothes she made for me. I still have the polyester quilts, and they still look brand new!

Presently, it would have to be Jacqueline DeJoung. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her paper pieced quilts and ideas with color. I'm not very good a color yet, and I feel like her techniques and creativity would be inspiring.

I would really love to work with Karla Alexander for a day.  I love her quilts!  The colors are fantastic and the designs are really creative.  Wish I could be that creative.

Oh I would absolutely love to spend a day with my grandmother... learn her simple and delightful ways of putting fabric and stitches together... oh how I wish I could have appreciated her quilting talents while she was alive and sassy!

Have to go with Eleanor Burns.  I watched her shows on pbs tv when I was becoming interested in quilting and my first quilt was a "Trip Around the World".  Since then I have made several quilts from her books - enjoy the way the books are written and designed - truly easy for beginners.

Several years ago while visiting my son, of course I stopped at a quilt shop in Colorado Springs, CO with a friend of his and focused on Eleanor's new book "25 Years and Still Stripping".  My birthday was several weeks later and here comes a gift from my son wrapped in material.  It was Eleanor's book - which his friend had said "she was real excited about a quilting book but I don't know which one" so they went to the part of the store where I had been standing & various books were displayed.  They asked the quilting staff which book might I have been looking at that was just out.  It was the correct book and as he wanted to mail it right away, he had them wrap it in material he picked out while he got a birthday card to include with the gift.  They wrapped it and got it in the mail ASAP (that's what quilting stores do so well).  More funny was the B-day card he picked out was about how he was "trouble"  when he was growing up and the material, unknown to him, was from the Kansas Troubles line.  Needless to say material, book,card and ribbon are great treasurers.

I would quilt with my grandmother.  I have a quilt she made for me and the only way I know about her is a photo of her holding me when I was an infant.  She could teach me a thing of two!!

I would love to spend a day with my deceased Grandma Mac - she lived two houses from me while growing up and I was there quite a bit.  I would watch her sew on her pedal machine and she was always singing.  Then in the "sitting" room she had her quilt frame set up most of the time and taught me how to hand quilt.  

Oh, I'd love to spend the day with Linda Franz.  She is the only author/teacher/hand piecer that I know. Since I basically only hand piece and hand quilt.  Would be wonderful to spend time with her and learn new tips and tricks, who knows maybe I could master something!!!!

If I could quilt with someone for a day, it would be with my Grandmother.  She was a quilter in 1915 through 1960.  She made doll quilts for my mother and for us girls, her grandchildren.  I still have them.  They were made from scraps of fabric from all our early dresses.  What memories.

I would love to quilt with my mother, now deceased, and my sister.  I remember when my mother taught my sister and I how to sew.  We each made a dress for ourselves.  We hated the dresses, but loved the process.  LOL  My mom worked full time, and still found the time to teach us to sew.  

How about Betsy Ross!  Maybe we could come up with another design that could make history.

Ricky Tims - His "tastes" in fabrics, styles, etc. come closer to my own. Who knows, maybe I could talk him into a musical performance while I quilt.

I have always liked and admired Eleanor Burns. Her color choices are so pretty and she makes it all look so easy. I've got the "get rid of it " part down pat. Sometimes I just watch her because she lifts my day. A positive, beautiful, (inside and out) lady!!

I would choose my daughter.  I love to be able to just hang out with her.  Last summer we made some chair covers.  For me it is about the sharing.  It doesn't matter what we do -- canning, sewing, shopping, walking the dogs, etc.  It is just being together.

I would like to spend the day quilting with my daughter.  She doesn't think she has talent for this kind of thing, and I'd like to prove her wrong so that she can have this enjoyable pastime in her life.  I'd also like to be able to go through all my patterns and fabrics so that I could have her pick her favorites and make her "perfect" quilt.

I would love to quilt with Alex Anderson. I am left handed and it is always easier to pick up on a technique from someone who is also a"leftie". I also love Jenny Doan for her relaxing approach to quilting - and she is also left handed!

I would choose my mom.  She taught me how to knit (she was a FANTASTIC knitter), crochet, embroider, and sew.  She never quilted, and I didn't either for a long time, though it was something that I always wanted to try.  I inherited her sewing machine when she died and though I hadn't sewn in many, many years, I took it up again at that time.  Then I tried quilting and the rest is history.  I'd love to sew alongside her and have fun with her.  She had a great sense of humor.  

I'd love to quilt with my Grandmother who passed away 30 years before I started quilting, but gave me my basic sewing knowledge.  She would be very pleased that I'm quilting.

If I could quilt with anyone for one day,I would like to quilt with my mother-in-law ,who passed away 12 years ago with Alzheimers .When she was up and about,healthy,Ididn't or couldn't find time for her to teach me.She always kept the wooden quilt frame raised to the ceiling when not in use also when the grand kids came out.Being the only girl with 5 brothers she learned to hand sew early to help make their clothes.To be able to make such tiny stitches and quilt so perfect is truly a GOD given talent.Also I admire the quilts from the ladies of Gees Bend,I would love to spend a day with some of them ,to watch them quilt, such talent.

Definitely Eleanor Burns!  I took a "Quilt in a Day" class 30 years ago and fell in love with quilting at that time.

If I had the choice to quilt with someone for a day, it would be Eleanor Burns because she is a lady that knows her stuff.  I watch her faithfully every weekend when it come on (Quilt In A Day).  It just don't come on enough with me.  I have watched a lot of quilting shows and found that Eleanor to me is the most experienced and loved person in the sewing/quilting field.  There is no one like her.  She would be my best and only pick.

I have to say my grandma, she passed away when I was 8 and I started quilting at age 29, found out 4 years later that she was a quilted and I never knew it. My dad says I remind him of her when I'm working on a quilt. Would love to have just one day to spend and try to learn everything she knew.

I would love to spend the day quilting with my mother (recently deceased) and oldest sister.  Mom taught me about some quilting when I was young.  Sis also quilts and lives in White Rock, BC and I am in Princeton, BC which is about only 4 hours away but over and through the mountains.  In the winter time the roads are the worst.  As I work for local motel on front desk, summertime is busiest for me.      

I would quilt with my mom. I'm 54 now, and she died from cancer, when I was 24. At the time I had some interest in quilting, and had done a little, with my grandmother's help. Now I make wall quilts and enter shows. My mother was an excellent seamstress, and I would love to recruit her for sewing on my quilts, if she would want to. It would be great to have been able to share my love of quilting with her. I have a yellow 1930s era quilt that she made on display in my bedroom, and it reminds me of her every day, I would have loved to ask more questions about the quilt she made.

My grandmother.  I didn't know she quilted until after she had passed.  When my grandfather passed, they had an auction and I bought a bag for a quarter because no one else would buy it.  It was a large garbage bag filled with quilt tops and afghans that my grandmother had put together.  Funny thing was, I didn't know she ever crocheted, either.  My mom told me after I'd bought the bag.

I would choose Mary Lou Weidman because she is SO fun and incredibly creative and innovative. There are so many wonderful quilters that inspire me, but I've always been partial to Mary Lou's quirkiness!

I've had classes with Eleanor Burnes & she is sooooo much fun.  So, I'd say I want her to join my quilt group ('cause I couldn't do it without my friends, too.....they're what make quilting so much fun for me & have grown me so much in quilting).

I would quilt with my great grandmother, although she has long passed she hand quilted from 1890-1960s and had a room with several quilting racks hung from the ceiling for neighbours to come by and quilt with her.

I would love to spend one day with May Fons as she makes thigs so easy & always gives people the feelig they are doing things right.  She really tries to help people do quilts things & keeps their spirit up which is good when you are learning new things.

I am a fairly new quilter and I would love to quilt with them all but it would have to be Elenor Burns.  She is delightful and fun and makes quilting easy and fun.    Outside the realm of infamous quilters I would pick my friend Polly who is o much fun to quilt with.

JL Santeusano or Kimmy Bruner or Lisa Calle or Judy  Madsen, Angela Walters, Ronda Beyer and many more- already got to spend a day with Linda Taylor, Linda McCuen, Mary Ellen Hopkins (twice), Harriet Hargrave, Renee Haddadin, Jamie Wallen, Sharon Schamber, Barb Vlack, gosh, who else? And ALL have been wonderful experiences!

There are so many fun people to choose from, but I would love to quilt with Eleanor Burns.  She knows so many things, and she seems really fun.

I am fairly new to quilting  and would love to quilt with all the great quilters but I would have to pick Eleanor Burns because she is a great quilter and is funny, smart and makes it so easy for someone like me to follow her instructions.  Outside the realm of infamous quilters I would pick my friend Polly because she too is fun, witty and a good quilter.

I love to have fun when I quilt and the funniest person I can think of would be Jim Carey, you know the guy from the movie Liar Liar.   Even if he doesn't quilt I bet he could give it a whirl and have a ball doing it!  And the quilt that he would produce!  Could you imagine!  

I lost my best quilting friend in 1993 - sure would like to quilt with her again!  Then would love to spend a day with May Ellen Hopkins - so talented and so much fun!

I would love to quilt with Bonnie Hunter as I love her scrap savers system and would like to learn more. She is so inspiring in using up all those left overs.

If I could quilt with a person for a day it would be Jinny Beyer.  I hand quilt and she hand quilts but I do not sew like she does and I would really like to experience how she sews.  I really enjoy her quilts and patterns.  She is fascinating to me and I would really like to meet her.

I would love to quilt with my daughter who lives 2 days drive away.  She is fun and so talented.  She made a gorgeous quilted reversible jacket, quilts, and the smallest little wall hanging that just sings with color.    This was a  nice idea for sharing.

I have already spent many many hours learning from Eleanor Burns, Penny Martin, Georgia Bonesteel, Kaye Woods...and all those who have had television series and written books. So I guess I can say I have had the pleasure of quilting with many well known, talented teachers...and have enjoyed and love them all. I hope to continue to watch and learn for many hours more through the videos and books/magazines presented by QCA until the day when I may get fortunate enough to actually meet them in person.

I would quilt with my daughter making her wedding quilt and talk about the future and possible ideas for baby quilts for when they come.

I would quilt with my mother-in-law.  She is no longer here, but she did a lot of hand quilting in her day.  She made quilts for all of her grandchildren and children before she died.  Now my husband is hand quilting quilts for me because of all of the quilts his mother quilted.  She would be really surprised at the quilts that I have made today.  I am trying to follow in her footsteps and make quilts for all of my grandkids.

If I could quilt with anyone for just one day I would bring my mom down from heaven for just this one day for us. With fresh coffee made and chocolate in abundance, (we both had huge addictions to coffee and chocolate), I would show her all I've done since she's been gone. Let her know that I listened to all those sewing lessons she taught me when I was young and put them to work making quilts after she was gone. For without all her lessons I would never have been able to grieve or come to terms with her death. Mom gave me the lessons I need in life that would be my therapy when she passed. After the tears dried, mom and I would set to making a very special quilt; the 2 of us working together side by side again.

I feel I need to add that if I couldn't have my mom with me for one special day of quilting I would want Eleanor Burns to quilt with me for hours on end. Eleanor reminds me so much of my mom its almost eerie. She has the same bright smile as my mom. The same light hearted tone in her voice. The same love of life and family.

I would love to spend the day quilting with Patsy Thompson.  I love her videos!  

Most definitely my Mom. She has given me so much over my lifetime in love and support. What better way to say " I love you" than to sit together, quilt and share memories!

I would choose to spend a day quilting with Nancy Pearson. When I lived in Illinois in the 90's I was privileged to take several classes from Nancy, and she told me she wished I lived closer to her (2 hours away) so we could get together more than just the classes. I learned so much from her in her applique. I would love to have that opportunity again.

I would choose my grandmother.  She was a loving and caring woman who influenced me greatly.  She taught me to enjoy the simple things in life and to put love into all my projects.

A hard choice....but I will choose to quilt a day with Eleanor Burns.  I have several of her books.

I would love to spend a day with two very special people:  my dear friend and partner in all things quilt, Laura, and my great-grandmother.  My friend Laura has been my companion in quilt classes, trips to quilt shops and a confidant in deciding colors and how to finance.  Her presence give my life great joy.  My Great-grandmother passed away before I knew her, but I still have in my possession some of the quilt squares she made.  I love to touch them and dream of what she thought as she worked.  I'm thankful that I've learned a little about one of her probably necessary skills.  What a joyful opportunity it would be to blend the two worlds.

Oooo, I would like to choose two, my great-grandmothers!  One of them I never met and the other died when I was very young.  They were quilters and until my sister and I started quilting, no one else in the family was a quilter.  I would love to see how they did what they did.  What a delight it would be to learn how they chose the colors and patterns they used.  One of my great-grandmothers was an artist, aside from being a quilter.  They could teach me so much, I have tears in my eyes just thinking about it.

I would love to spend the day with Ricky Tims.  I love his work with colors and his design sense.  And I would also make him play music for me when he wasn't busy quilting with me.  

If I could quilt with anyone for one day, I would quilt with my Great Grandmother. She died 13 years ago today and she loved to quilt. I still have her sewing machine and it is still in good condition and I just started using it to be closer to her. She still feels like she is with me, and when I'm around the sewing machine I can feel her there. I would love to see her and hear her voice again.

I have learned so much about quilting by watching Elanor Burns videos.  I would love to spend some time working with her.  

Lynette Jensen!  Her Thimbleberries fabric is fantastic.  I have many of her books -- love the pictures of her home filled with the warmth of beautiful quilts.

Oh my this is a hard choice to make, because I have been inspired by sooooo many different quilters I have watched on line and on TV. But, if I could only choose one, it would be Mark Lipski. Let's pour a glass of wine and laugh our way through a new fun pattern together!!

Although there are some wonderful quilters I would love to quilt with, my first choice would be my Grandmother. She had the patience to teach me to knit and sew as a child, but I was not fortunate to have her see how the skills she taught me developed into quilting as an adult. Each time I sit at my sewing machine, quilting frame,or am knitting something I think of her and thank her for taking time with a little girl to pass on her knowledge.

I would love to spend a day with my quilter Great Grandmother Laura, but if I were to pick a living quilter, I would love to spend it with Liz Porter.  She has always seemed so interesting and she seems to love antique quilts - my passion.

We can only pick one?!!  For me its a tie between Eleanor Burns and Jenny Doan.  Sigh

If I could quilt with anyone, my first choice would be my mom.  She passed away in 1987 and was the most talented seamstress I know of.  She would be absolutely amazed by the machines I have.  Even with all the great technology tho, I will never be as accomplished as she was with just a basic, mechanical sewing machine.  

My 2nd (living) choice would be Eleanor Burns.  She is such a hoot and I bet would be so fun to be around.

Definitely Liz Porter - I miss her on the TV show.  Liz is a super designer, has a great sense of humor and knows the right way to fudge a bit when needed for cutting/piecing.

I would enjoy spending a day with Roberta Horton.  I have taken two of her workshops and she is an excellent teacher.  

I would like to quilt with my grandmother. I wasn't too interested when she was quilting. She's been gone a long time now, but would like to see how she was able to have the triangles meet without all the modern techniques we have now.

Of course there are all the quilting celebrities that I would love to quilt with, but at the top of my list would be to quilt a day with my daughter and my two little granddaughters. They are down in MS and I am in MN so I don't get to see them but every few years because of finances.

I would like to spend a day quilting with a friend who is VERY organized.  Maybe some of it would rub off on me.  No clue how she manages to finish so many quilts........

I would love to spend the day with both my grandmothers.  My paternal grandmother, I never met, but she had a dress shop where she made custom clothes for people.  I seen pictures and she did beautiful work.  My maternal grandmother made my first quilt with me.  She also had nothing.  Thank God for feed sacks.  We both made our clothes from them and quilts from the scraps.  

I would love to spend a day quilting with my sister. She lives 8 hours away, and we do visit back and forth, but never to quilt. She has better colour sense than I do, I have more piecing and quilting experience than she does. Synergy; each of us is good, but together, we would create amazing quilts.

Eleanor Burns.  She is so good in her explanations on how to cut out and piece her blocks.  They are so easy to follow.  I have always admired her.  She is such a down to earth and genuiune and friendly person both on TV and in her shop.  I would love to meet and work with her.  Thank you.

I would love to have a session with RaNae Merrill. She is an extremely talented person but very humble and approachable. I'd love to have her hands on instruction on those exquisite spiral quilts!!!!

I would love to quilt with my friend Judi and my Granddaughter Jaclyn. Judi was Jaclyn's mentor for her  senior project. They made a pinwheel quilt. We all had such a good time. Jaclyn is now living in Huston,Texas. Judi and I remain in Ms. We try to get together one day a week. What a great event to remember.

I don't really know anyone who quilts. But I would love to quilt with Marianne Fons. She seams so mellow and easy going and would have patience with a newbie like me. I love watching the show.

I would love to have had the chance to quilt with my Grandma Guthrie. When I was little I used to love spending the night at her house, she was a hand quilter and had dozens of little cardboard templates. It was my job to cut out hundreds of of little bitty pieces. She passed away before I was old enough to do more.

I would love to quilt with Judy Martin.  I would need her to come to my house to help me use up my scraps!  

Jane Sassaman would be my choice.  Eleanor Burns has the best quilting techniques, she makes it all so easy, she is my hero!  But Jane's fabrics are so inspiring!  I love the bright colors and unique designs.  Would love to find out how she starts the design process and if she envisions the quilt at the outset of the process.  I first saw her Tree of Life quilt in about 2006 and have been watching her designs since.  Could I spend more than one day?  :o)

I had the wonderful experience of teaching my granddaughter to quilt last summer, I would really love to sit and quilt with my daughter who lives in another state.

I would spend that one my day quilting with my Grandmother.  She passed away many years ago when I was a teenager.  We were never very close and she was not a very happy woman but somewhat bitter toward life.  However, she had enormous talent doing anything with a needle and thread.  As an adult I would like to learn from her talents and show my admiration for her talents. I have grown to be more patient and loving as an adult and able to overlook a persons flaws. Perhaps appreciation would be of benefit to her and I would learn from a person who had wonderful talent to share.

There are so many talented quilters out there, but I wanted to reduce my stash of leftover fabric from sewing and make quilts that would generate fond memories for my children from leftover fabric used to make them clothing when they were young.  This is what got me into quilting, so I would definitely have to chose Bonnie Hunter.  What an inspiration her designs are!  Plus I would really like to figure out here leaders/enders method of quilting.

I have admired Paula Nadelstern's quilts for a very long time.  One of the last years the Quilt Show was in Chicago I had bought one of her books.  As I was walking down an aisle, I heard her very distinctive voice.  She was kind enough to sign her book.  I'd just love to "pick her brain".

Many names come to mind, many mentioned by others.  I would have liked for my friend Cathy and I to spend a quilting day with Doreen Speckmann.  Sadly Doreen is no longer with us, but I know that she used to do quilt cruises regularly and Cathy and I would have had a blast with Doreen!

Several people would be on my list, but will pick Jinny Beyer. She is a wonderful quilter and has so much knowledge of quilting and hand quilting! I just love her fabrics also!

I would love to spend one day quilting with my great Aunt who is no longer with us. My mother has a number of her hand made quilts and they are all beautiful. To spend the day with her listening to stories of when she was a little girl and how she got started quilting would be such a joy for me. As far as I know she is the only other quilter in the family.

Eleanor Burns and a close second Jenny Doan.  Eleanor is who I got started with and I've just discovered Jenny through Craftsy.  Love them both!

My first thought was my mother who passed away a year ago.  She was an avid sewer in her day but hadn't taken up quilting.  She always admired the quilts I'd made, so I think we'd have fun creating a masterpiece quilt together.  But since she isn't here to quilt with I think I'd love to quilt with one of my granddaughters.  I have 5 granddaughters (ranging from 8 to 16 years old).  I've asked but none of them is interested in learning.  I would love to pass on this art to one of them.  

I would like to quilt with my great-grandmother, Mary, who held quilting bees in her home back in the 1910's-1940's.  She passed away before I was even thought of, but my Daddy told me many of stories of how he would watch the women quilt and would pick up the pins that would fall to the floor when he was a little boy.  What an experience that would be!

All of the above. All the famous quilters, but I think I wouls be overwhelmed by them that I would not do any quilting. Mark Lipinski could just make some of his encouraging drinks, that might help. But the idea of spending a day with the Amish is fascinating, as I have an Amish background (5 generations ago).And to quilt with my Mom, whom I spent many hours quilting with, or with my Grandmother, who passed away before I found the art. How could I pick any one person??????? Maybe someone will pick me to quilt with, that would be easier.

I would have to choose Judy Neimeyer. My husband and I love her patterns and I even have a couple that one day I hope to make. I have been blessed with the opportunity to take classes through my local guild with machine quilt master, Sue Nickles and quilt designer and author, Peggy Martin. What an experience to learn from such wonderful teachers.

I would like to spend the day quilting with my Mother's Mother.  She died when my Mother was 14, so I never got to met her, but I grew up under her quilts.

She taught me to sew when I was three and a half.  She would give me her dish towels and a threaded needle and show me how to do stitches.  She would sometimes draw a picture on a piece of cloth and have me sew it.  She was great.  I think that we could make something really great together.  Only thing better would be to have all of her family and mine sit down and all quilt together.  The things I'd like to ask and the stories I'd like to hear.

If i could quilt with anyone, it would be my Mother, even though she is still with me, she is at an age where she can't do many hobbies like she used to. I was born late in her life and i didn't get into sewing when i was younger that much, it wasn't until my early 40's that i started getting into sewing about the same time Mom stopped doing her crafts. So, if i could turn back time, i would learn to quilt earlier in my life so my Mom and I could enjoy making them together. I love you Mom.

Picking the brain of Diane Gaudynski or Wendy Sheppard would be fun and educational. I'm a free-motion quilter who is good enough to get quilts into juried shows, but not good enough to win awards. I want to perfect my FMQing skills enough to quilt beautiful quilts that win!

Carol Doak - I love paper piecing!

I would spend my quilting day with my 7 year old grand-daughter. Quilting with her is so much fun. She just learned and is finishing her first quilt, She has an excellent eye for color and tones and enjoys using fabric to brighten the lives of others.

If I could pick a celebrity quilter, it would have to be Sharon Schamber ... would love to meet her and see how she creates her amazing, intricate quilts !!  

But if I chose a "regular" quilter, it would be my grandmother ...who passed away when I was in college.  We never got to quilt together but she taught me how to sew and embroider when I was young, and inheriting some of her lovely quilts inspired ME to start quilting.

If I could quilt with a celebrity it would be Katie Pasquini Masopust.  However, I would have loved to be able to quilt with my paternal Grandmother.  I did not start to quilt, or even sew, until 2000.  She passed away in 1998 and lived in Quebec, Canada, whereas I live in California.  I have some of the quilts that she made and I cherish them.  I sooo wish that I could have quilted with her, or even just talked to her about quilting.  I just hope she would be proud of the work that I have done so far.

As I scrolled down Eleanor Burns name popped up a lot. So yes Eleanor Burns. She's fun, but I recently saw Gyleen Fitzgerald and I liked her techniques.  I've followed El for years and I know her techniques.  I use them daily. But Gyleen is New and has a bunch to say about quilts.  She's figured out a way to use all those scraps that Eleanor throws on the floor.

If I could quilt with a professional, I would choose Liz Porter.  I like her down-to-earth traditional styles.  I think she could teach many time-saving tips. On the non-professional side, I would choose my great-grandmother.  She had a quirky sense of style and quilting.  She passed away when I was 16 (mannnnny years ago!) so I didn't ever have a chance to learn from her.

I would love to quilt with my maternal grandmother.  I remember playing under her quilt frame as a 3-year-old, and I have a couple of her quilts, including a beautiful Grandmother's Flower Garden, filled with cotton wadding (like lots of cotton balls).  She was my absolute favorite grandparent, and I loved her so much.

Alex Anderson, I watched her shows first. Eleanor Burns, because she is entertaining and makes quilting look as natural as breathing. Nancy Zieman and Mary Mulary, who are just hoots! In my real quilting world I would have to choose my Aunt Irene who is 92 and still hand quilts, and my Granddaughter, Myranda Anderson, who is just learning to sew and quilt. I would love to have Aunt Irene to share her knowledge with Randi and me at the same time. From the past it would have to be my mother's mother, Grandma Shoemaker and from my paternal side, Aunt Irene's oldest sister,

my Aunt Mildred.  sorry you said anyone, not one. All quilters know you take one idea and many come forth before you finish your quilt. OH I haven't forgotten the quilters from QCA!  

My favorite hands-down would be Caryl Bryer Fallert! How many ways can you say "awesome"?!? She designs her own quilts, dyes her own fabrics, and quilts (spectacularly) her own quilts! I have taken a lecture class with her & just think she is so talented in so many ways! The epitome of quilting!

I would quilt with my Grandma Swanson.  She wasn't a quilter but she was a sewer. She had a wonderful old Singer treadle machine that we loved to play on as kids.  I really only got to know her well while in high school and college.  During that time I was blessed to meet the woman behind the grandmother and found out what a truly wise and wonderful person she was.  I would love to share her experiences of life as part of my quilting journey.  I miss her every day.

My mom! We live 5 hours apart, so we go quilt crazy when we get together.

My husband.  We have a child with multiple medical and emotional needs.  After nearly 12 years of focusing on our son, we decided to find a hobby to share-just for us that gives us something to look forward to when it looks as if there is "no light at the end of the tunnel".  We are just learning, and donate much of what we have made to Children's Hospitals to "give back" for the excellent care our son has received.  It also gives something for our child to look forward to--he has a great eye for fabrics, and enjoys the creating process and surprise of final product.  It is a win for us, and in some ways is saving our marriage and our family. (Lynette Jensen runs a close second, though--we love her designs and her pattens are easiest to follow that I have seen.

I would love to spend the day quilting with my mother. She passed away before I started sewing. She would be so surprised and thrilled!

If I could, I would like to quilt with my great-great aunt and my mother.  Both are gone.  They both had flare for color and design.  I have tops that both have done and it would be fun for us to make them into quilts.  

My great-aunt .She's gone now. I saw so many of her quilts as a child and didn't realize then how special she and her quilts were! Had I only known to ask...she would have given me one!

If I could quilt with anyone-- anyone in the whole world--- who would I choose?... The answer to that question is an easy one for me.  I would so love the chance to sit and sew with my Grandma.  She had such an impact in my life-- gave me the complete love and acceptance that only a grandparent can..  What a wonderful thing it would be to be able to see her again, to reminisce about the fun times we had together, to tell her about my daughters and granddaughter- whom she never got to meet, to ask her all the questions about *her* life that I never asked, and to tell her how very important she is to me!  :-)

If I could quilt with a special person for one day? It's a no brainer.....MY Grandma (or Nonna as we say in Italy). She was the most amazing and creative person I ever met. She was able to knit, crochet, embroider....she taught me a lot, and while we were doing something together she would tell me stories, teach me geography, history, music.

She never tried to quilt because it's not an Italian thing, but I am sure she would be impressed by it and learn it very fast. I was so lucky to have her until I was a grown up woman.......but I miss her so much!!

My mother hand quilts where I machine quilt.  I would love to spend the day with her teaching me how to hand quilt.  This is at the top of my to do list and right along with her I would love her to be in on a quilting day with Eleanor Burns and Alex Anderson as those are the two ladies I watched first. I have had many inspirations from these three ladies.  My Italian grandmother had me quilting when I was in 2nd grade on a treadle sewing machine so I could say her love of fabric and color was pasted along to my mother and me.  This has become my passion and I am passing it along to area high school girls in my school where I am the librarian.  I would love to arrange a quilting day with my mother and these girls but mom doesn't love close by. I can dream about it though.

I can't believe I get to choose only one person! I would want to be with the people who have taught me the most about life, about quilting, about myself, and about how to weave them all together into something that gives me and the people I share my quilts with absolute joy. These include my Grandmother (paternal - who taught me how to fight for people who don't have everything they need, and most importantly for those who aren't allowed to have basic rights), my Grandma (maternal - who taught me the importance of hard work, family and food. This grandma had her own restaurant, which she ran for 50 years, in spite of having survived polio as a child and several heart attacks, pacemakers, and joint surgeries as an adult). My best quilting friend, Pat (who does all of my long-arm quilting and teaches me everything else I need to know about sewing in ways that don't make me feel small or belittled, and comes to "help out" before I can even ask her. whenever my chronic neurological illness acts up and I can't can't care of myself as well as I'd like. Pat would never admit that she sometimes "takes care of" me, but she does - in every way possible. Including making me laugh when we sew together. And last, but not least, I'd have to have my fiance, there. Doug always makes me smile and giggle and feel like I am the most beautiful being in the universe. At the same time, he doesn't know a thing about color or piecing or sewing, and he loves hamming it up when it comes to his confusion about all of these. He's a terrific cook, and loves to spend time in the kitchen, so I think the combination of the 4 of us women - Grandmother, Grandma, Pat and I; plus Doug making sure we were all fed, and wandering around being totally confused and overwhelmed, would be just perfect. A day filled with joy, laughter, important and frivolous conversations, good food, great company, and beautiful fabric.

Unfortunately my mother has been diognossed with Alzhiemers disease & can no longer create her beautiful quilts.

What a gift it would be if I could have a day of quilting with my mother.  I used to sit at her feet

My best friend in college - Codi.  She started quiliting while we in school and I didn't take it up for another decade.  Since graduation we've both moved many times and I only see her quilts online - but I know it would be fun for us to quilt together.

My friend Mavis.  She started teaching me how to quilt a couple of years ago.  We started a quilt together but didn't get to finish it because her best friend's husband became ill and past away and then her husband not long after became ill and past away.  Although I have worked on a few quilts by  myself, I still have the quilt top that we started together.  I will not touch this quilt top until my friend is ready to pick up where we left off.  I still have a lot to learn.

Mary Fons, she is so fun to watch on tv, and I think she would make anything fun.

If I could quilt with anyone for one day it would be my Great Gandmother.  While she passed away many, many years ago, she was such an incredible quilter as well as an incredible lady.  She belonged to the "Grange" and the "Grange Ladies" would meet once a week, bring in lunch and quilt all day long.  By the time I was old enough to be interested she was no longer able to quilt.  Everyone loved and admired my Great Grandma.  She loved pretty handkerchiefs and on her birthday and special occasions, member of her quilting grange would give her a pretty handkerchief.  She had quite a collection.  In honor of her I made a quilt for my mother (her granddaughter) and one for my niece.  I still have handkerchiefs.

If I could, I'd make the quilt with Jenny Doan and quilt it with Karen McTavish, both are tops in their field.

Kimmy Brunner- she makes complicated quilting designs look so easy. i wish i could be a fly on the wall of her studio for a day and learn some of her secrets :-)

When my Grandmother passes away many years ago, we found a trunk full of quilts in her attic, none of which were marked or signed and we had never seen any of them before.  I would like to be able to spend a day with whomever quilted these quilts so that I could listen to the stories that surrounded them, find out when they were quilted and for whom.  They are beautiful but puzzling as no one ever saw her quilting and we have not a clue as to where they came from.  That would be my wish...and alas one that can never be fulfilled.

I'd LOVE to quilt with my 25-year old granddaughter....why you ask? Well....she hasn't even been born yet. So that means I'll still be around when I'm 85 years young quilting away and hopefully will have taught my granddaughter to love quilting as I do!

As a child, I played beneath the quilt frame in my grandmother's living room while all the ladies in my family quilted together.  Now that I'm a quilter, too, I wish I could sit at the fourth side of the frame, surrounded by my great-grandmother, grandmother and my mom, talking and laughing, and sharing tips and tricks.  

Through  my quilt guilds (Berlin Sisters in Quilting and Greater Hartford Quilt Guild), I have taken

several classes and spent the day quilting with several nationally quilt teachers.  There are several

more I wuold love to spend the day with, but the top one would be Nancy Mahoney.  I love thirties style quilts and have already spent time with my second favorite designer Darlene Zimmerman.

I think the most fun would be to quilt along side of MS stripper her self, Eleanor Burns, however I'd give a lot to be able to have my Mother seeing again to help me as she use to do all my cutting. She hasn't been able to sew for over two years, and my hands need her.

I would love to quilt with all the famous quilters and learn from them but from the heart I would want to quilt with my Grandma Eckel and my sister Connie who I would dearly love to spend just one more day with them.

I would definitely pick my sweet mother, who had so many talents.  I would send everyone else away on a fun trip.  I would put the kettle on and make us each a cup of mom's homemade Spice tea.  Mother's hand stitches were always perfect, marching along to a cadence only she could here.  Her joy was in the making of so many things for us.  She took the time to make them all perfect.  I am so proud to have her quilt and ruffeled pillowcases that she made from scraps of fabric used to make all my dresses.

I'd love to be able to quilt with my grandma.  She had 11 kids and all of us grands grew up under her quilts.  I still have a small ninepatch she hand stitched for my dolls.  It's a vivid as when I played with it over 40 years ago.  Kids were taught to be quite, pay attention, be kids, and respect authority and responsibility. I'm at the age where I can agree to her wisdoms.  I can only imagine what she would think of the world today.

I would love to spend a day with my sister. Sometimes on the rare occasion that we get to be together, we'll go the LQS and buy the same fabrics and make identical quilts. So fun!

I would spend a day quilting with my best friend, Kat. When I lived abroad she visited and we made the same baby quilt. It was amazing to see how different the quilts turned out since we both have different styles and color favorites. Since moving back to the U.S., we had what I called a "Chicken Retreat" where we made wallhangings from the same pattern group (different patterns) that were chicken related. It was the best time. Her daughter joined us for the last "retreat". We are hoping to redo the retreat with a different pattern. But I would love spending more time quilting with her. We don't live in the same town so we don't get to do this very much.

I have a hard time picking which person I would love to quilt with.  I like Eleanor Burns, Kaye Woods and Marianne and Mary Fons.  I guess I would have to put the names in a hat and draw to see who would win

My husband's aunt Mary Anne. She is an amazing quilter! Her quilts are what inspired me to begin to learn how to quilt a few years ago.

I would quilt with my mom.  She loved quilting long before I did, but now that her eyesight isn't as good as it was, she needs someone to help her with all the quilts she bought fabric for but never made.

I would have to say my dad's aunt.  I never met her but I have seen, and have, some of the beautiful work she did.  She is the only other member of my family that I know of that quilts, or quilted.  As for someone more well known for their quilting, I would go with Jennifer Chiaverini.  Even when she describes the quilts in her books you can 'see' how beautiful they are!

I would love to quilt with my Grandmother. She was a wonderful person. She taught me how to sew and crochet. I was always watching her and helping her when I was little. I think she would be proud of me to be continuing on with my sewing and quilting.  Now as far as someone that is a little more famous, I would love to quilt with Judy Niemeyer. I love her patterns and would love to be in her class.

I'd quilt with my first quilting teacher, Ira Joseph, from Quilts 'n Calicoes in Singapore and the good quilting friends I made there. We'd also have a cuppa and lots of laughter!

That one is hard.  I am just starting to learn how to quilt so I do not know the "famous" quilters.  So the person I would love to spend the day with may not even know how to quilt...and you did say it could be someone famous...it would be Oprah.  I admire her for all she does for her friends, family, and strangers.  I think it would be really neat to just sit down with her and listen.  I would like to talk to her about how she has helped so many people with her "awareness" shows such as domestic violence, sexual abuse, rape crisis, and those about losses.  So...Oprah.  I just think she could be a great friend.

There are so many talented quilt artists out there, that this decision is a tough one.  Since I can only choose one person, I think I'd most like to spend the day quilting with Eleanor Burns.  I absolutely adore her sense of humor and teaching style.  A day with her would just be so much fun.

My friend, Amber.  We are in the same quilt club.  She's always so friendly and fun!  She always seems to be so impressed with what everyone is doing.  She is so talented and fun in her own projects.  I love her.

I would love to quilt with my granddaughter and teach her the great art of quilting.  She is always bringing things (blankets, quilts, stuffed animals), to me to be "fixed", meaning sewing repairs.  She is only 3 1/2 years old, but she goes with me to the fabric stores and helps me make fabric choices.  Sometimes she has a better eye than I do when it comes to coordinating colors.

If I could I would like to quilt with my father, my grandmother, and my daughter Amanda.  I only have a quilt that my father made when he was very young ( age 13) but it is so very beautiful my quilting doesn't even compare to the beauty and the tiny, tiny stitches that he made so uniform. This quilt is 86 years young and is still beatuiful , the tiny intricate pieces all put perfectly together. My father was shown how to quilt by his mother, this  would be the most wonderful day that I could imagine in my quilting lifetime.

I would quilt with my Grandmother who passed away in 1961.  I am about the only family member who quilts, but I did not end up with one of hers--all the other cousins did.  It would be such fun to have a few days with her to make a quilt I could then hand down to one of my children.

There are two many choices to choose just one. Carol Doak because I learned to paper piece from her books. El Burns. Both of my daughters who also quilt and my mother and my grandmother. The last two are both gone now, but both loved to sew and especially to quilt.

My sister (and best friend.)  We live too far away from each other but we share a passion for all things quilting.  She is the "driving force" who dragged me from doing everything by hand to using a machine for piecing.  She says she has "won me over to the dark side."  As I show off my meticulously hand stitched quilts she brings out a project with 3 hand stitches in the entire piece and challenges me to find them.  She is my inspiration, my go-to person - you should see the phone bill!  By Spring 2012 she tells me I will be machine quilting.

That's a tuff choice to make.  I'm thinking either Alex Anderson or Patsy Thompson.  There are so many wonderful quilters and each has their own gift to offer to the world of quilting.

I would love to spend a day quilting with JENNY DOAN,CAROL DOAK,ELEANOR BURNS as I am trying to get paper piecing down pat and I love to machine quilt and do a lot of quilt as you go. To me I can do this now to pass the time since my husband passed away. I understand my living in Canada is a stetch to win a contest such as this the travelling would be to much to ask . I would spend the day quilting with my Great Grandmother.  I never met her but I must have gotten my love of quilting from her.  One of her quilts is in the Quilt Museum in Lincoln Nebraska.

Jinny Beyer would be my choice.  Her "Moonglow" pattern and fabric started my love of quilting but have to admit it was several years before I became proficient enough to start the quilt.

If I could quilt with anyone, I would quilt with my Grandmother Mary Johnson.  She passed away almost 30 years ago, but she was a big influence on my life.  She was a lifelong quilter and preferred the hand quilting rather than the piecing of quilts.  Many quilts in North Central Kansas were quilted by her loving hands.

I would love to spend a day with ELEANOR BURNS, because she helped start my love of quilting MANY years ago.  If I had a time machine, I'd go back and quilt with my Grandma Kissinger.  She never quilted that I knew of as a child, but had many quilts she had done years earlier.  As kids, we slept under her "winter" crazy quilts that were made of wol and flannel scraps, pieced on feedsacks, backed with heavy cottons, and used old blankets as batting!  They were tied, not quilted, and when we got in bed under one of them, we seldom moved because they were so heavy!  I have one hanging at the top of my stairway.

I would love to quilt with Jennifer Chiaverini or Mary Fons.  I love watching Mary   on T.V.

I am a fairly new quilter, or one that has finally gotten back to it since I have retired. My first choice for a person to sew or quilt with would be Jenny Doan from Missouri Star Quilts. I have found her tutorials so helpful and inspiring. But, if we got to choose two people, the other would be my mother who has been gone for over 20 yrs. She was a beatiful hand quilter!

Sharon Schamber whom I have taken a class from at HIQF. It was the best class I've ever taken, she even provided a dvd of the class to take home. The class was a lecture, now I own a longarm and could use more hands on instruction. She is alao a healer and really helps whatever ails you.

I would like to spend it with Eleanor Burns of QIAD  and learn from her great quilting techniques, she is one of the great teachers of the quilting world :) And I just love her! She make me laugh when she throws away her fabric over her shoulders! lol I wish she could spend one day with me, I would be truly honored and happy :)

I am a new quilted and seem to be leaning towards colors and more artistic type of quilts.  So, my choice would be Caryl Bryer Fallert.  Her quilts are amazing and when I got to spend some time with her at her studio she was so gracious and helpful.  Her quilts are amazing!!!

My mom has been gone nearly 17 years-a time before I thought I'd ever make a quilt.  She was not a quilter, but a wonderful sewist, I believe she would have been an equally great quilter.  She would have been a great teacher for me and a day quilting with her would have been most enjoyable and enlightening.

A current day 'known quilter'?  There are sooo many, all with something very special to offer, but I would like to quilt with Nancy Johnson-Srebro.  Love her precision and would be excited to learn from her.  

If I could pick one person to quilt with and learn from, it would be Darlene Zimmerman. I love her patterns and the 1930's prints.

I would have liked to quilt with one of my grandmothers.  Both have passed on and now I realize I missed out by not listening to their stories more carefully.  Both lived through the depression and would give me tips on how to save money.  Sure could have used their advice these last few years!

It is really hard to pick just one celebrity; but, I would love to spend the day with Eleanor Burns ("Crazy Lady" as my Husband calls her because of the way she throws things over her shoulder) who makes her techniques easy.  I would also love the have my Great-Grandma Amy there as well.  Found out a few years ago that my G-Grandma quilted and would have loved to have spent some time getting to know her and have teach me what she knew about sewing and quilting.

I had a foster mother who made fabulous clothes for my Tony Doll when I was about 9 years old. I thought sewing was amazing.  Mary was a wonderful person.  I never had the chance to tell her how special I thought she was and how much I loved the doll clothes she made.  Unfortunately, my mother made me give the doll and clothes to my youngest sister and they were all ruined due to lack of care.  I am now 67 and have never forgotten the kindness and generosity of Mary Newland.  Mary would be my choice.  At 21 I bought myself a Singer Zig-Zag, a pattern, and taught myself how to sew.  I still LOVE it and find it a peaceful, rewarding and very challenging endeavor.  I have Mary to thank for it.

I'd have to say Eleanor Burns....it's all her fault!  :)  I was in Panama on an Air Force Base with cable TV in 1988 and saw her for the first time and sent Quilt In A Day Log Cabin that came in a binder and other equipment.......bought a sewing machine at the base and was hooked!

I would spend my day quilting with my sister, Nan.  She lives a few hours away and with our husbands and our jobs keeping us busy, we don't get to see each other often.  Of the six girls in our family, she and I are the only ones besdes our mother who sew.  Mom passed away in 2009, so now it's just us.

 I would pick my grandmother because I was young when she passed away and didn't get a chance to  learn to quilt from her. You see she was born in  1888 and had wonderful stories about the past. I belong to the NQSG which stands for Nebrask Quilt State Guild and we have national teacher and state teacher every year at a quilt convention,so I do get to see some of famous teacher of the quilting world.  

My Mom - she would be so proud that I am now a quilter.  She hand pieced and hand quilted her quilts with the tiny tiny stitches.  I am spoiled I have a long arm.  I am trying to complete the pieces that she had hand cut now.

I am a 55 year old quilter. My Jr. High School Home Ec.Teacher was and is my mentor and best friend. She is now 71 years old and still teaches quilting, school, and does alterations for wedding and prom desses. If I could quilt with anyone it would be with her. She lives in a neighboring state but it is very hard to get together but when we do we have the best time. Of course we sew and catch each other up on new techniques and tips, but it is just the time we spend together that is so precious!

I would want to quilt with my grandmother.  She had better hand stiches at 80 than I do now.  I would love to show her my sewing machines and the rotary cutter.  I would also love to show her the cutter I am getting for my mom and me so we can piece quilts together and my mom can complete her dream, just like my grandmother, making a quilt for each of her children.

I would love to quilt with my mother who passed away on Aug. 11, 2011 after fighting COPD, Heart Disease and at the last at 87 years old she had to get shingles on the side of her face in her mouth and down her throat.  For a long time I was against putting her on Morphene for her distresses with her long time illnesses and Alzehimers.  But not once she got shingles, I was so relieved she would not suffer that painful disease.  She quilted many quilts until she was unable to do the skills required.  She ofton ask me to come and quilt with her and sadly, I rarely had the time. But I would love to quilt with her every day as long as she was well and able.  I miss her more than I would have ever thought possible. I know she is with God and the my Daddy and the rest of her love ones who have gone on before her and I am at peace and happy for her.

I would love to quilt for a day with my grandmother.  She was an accomplished seamstress.  She lived in Arizona and we lived in Oklahoma and she made all my clothes when I was a child.  My mother would send her my measurements and she would send back perfectly fitting, darling clothes for me.  I didn't know until after she died that she made quilts and none of the quilts she made were still around.  It was long after she died before I began quilting.  I quilt for a creative outlet; she quilted because her family needed the bedding.  Wouldn't we have fun comparing notes?

I would love to quilt for a day with my best sewing and shopping friend, Andrea.  She is so talented she inspires me!

My first choice would be my great-grandmother, whose quilting pieces I inherited. She taught me to crochet, but I never knew she had quilted before she passed away. So, if I had to choose someone who is currently a quilter, I would choose Alex Anderson. She has always inspired me and when I attended Festival in Houston in 2005 I was "this close" to her as she answered questions.

I would love to spend the day quilting with my mother.  She always wanted to learn to quilt enen though she was 80 and blind. I was working many hours a day and did not have the time to learn to quilt so I could teach her. Mom passed away and never learned to quilt.   After I retired 4 years ago, I got out some of her things and said "Mom here we go, we are going to learn to quilt."  Every quilt I make I feel mom is here with me and places her mark on each one.

I would like to quilt again with Liz Porter.  I took a class from her in Augusta, Maine afew years ago.  She enjoys the old fabrics and reproductions and fabrics the same as i do.  

I would love to learn more of the basics skills from Elanor Burns and learn how to use more advanced designing skills by Daphne Greig. As I am new to quilting I would love to learn as much as possible from Elanor I love watching her DVD's, as she explains everything in detail. But as I go on with my quilting classes, DVD's, etc I would love to be able to at some point be capable of designing my own.

I would like to quilt with my grandmother.  Although I knew and spent time with her until i was 18, I never saw her in her prime.  When she was young, she gathered her 4 sons around the table after dinner and they all quilted together--before TV was invented.    I am lucky enough to have one of the quilts they made.  It is not in good shape but it is one of my treasured items because it is part of my heritage and it is a link to the quilting my daughter and I enjoy together.  

It would be Mary Ann Fons.  She is a good teacher and wonderful at explaining every detail without sounding as if she is preaching.  She also has the confidence to let the person she is working with have input into the project.  She is a person I think I would really enjoy spending time and working with.  I feel that as soon as I meet her it would seem as if we had been friends for years.  It seems to me like we really have been friends for years as I have watched her on PBS for many years and gladly welcome her into my home with each program.  

I was fortunate to spend a day at the Eleanor Burns shop in California a few years ago...what a fun and gracious person she is...I would very much like to repeat that day full of quilting with her by my side...what a thrill that would be!

There are truly many I would love to quilt with and absorb there wisdom and talent including Marianne Fons, Mary Fons and Jennifer Chiaveranti.  but the most heavenly would be a quilting group with my mother, sister, Aunt Sylvia and daughters.  My mother died over 6 years ago but inspired me.  My Aunt Sylvia is a fantastic women and artist who now has Parkinson's.  My daughters have dabbled but to have the wisdom of my mother and aunt to past to the next generation...truly what I envision quilting is about.

I would like to quilt with a friend of a friend, MaryJane.  We've both had gastric surgery and both are quilters, but I have not met her yet.  It's been almost a year we have been trying to meet up.

I would definitely quilt with my grandmother.  She passed when I was very young and had no idea I would ever love to quilt.  I have her old Singer treadle sewing machine, which I have dated back to 1904.  My brother and I would sit on the floor and push the treadle with our feet.  My mom says it still works, but I'm afraid to try it!

Quilting with anyone well known in the quilting world would be a treat (after getting over the feeling being feeling insecure about my quiling knowledge). But really I would just love to sit and sew with my quilting friend/friends or my aunt who just moved from the east coast to about 4 1/2 hours north of me. Eleanor Burns, no doubt. Though I'm not an experienced quilter, Ms. Burns has got to be the cutest darn quilting teaching -- she's quite the character too.

I would like a day with either Sharon Shamber or Gina Perks. I have known Gina for about 14 years and would like to have some of her talent and secrets to apply to my work. Recently I took a class with Sharon along with eleven other women....oh to have Sharon all to myself for a day...and to sew in her wonderful studio again.

Both of these women are so talented.

Lori Allison of Allison Quilt Designs.  She is a great teacher, provides so much inspiration, cheers me on to accomplish more, and praises my feeble efforts.  She does beautiful long-arm quilting and designs wonderful patterns.  I have always learned so much from her on the rare occasions I have been in her classes.  She offers great tips, encouragement and praise for your finished projects.

McKenna Ryan would be my wish. Her quilts are nature inspired masterpieces. So much like true nature, the inspiration of our Master. What better tribute to our world, than to capture the beauty of our world in a quilt.  Her quilts evoke real memories or dreamlike visions of the magic that is nature.

My grandmother who made my first quilt 61 years ago.  Would be fun to see what she would think about the tools of today. The quilt that she made for me ended up in tatters as it went to college with me.  One of my sisters had saved hers.  She was nice enough to share of it and I famed the piece that she gave me.

My Aunt Bessie, who was more like a grandmother than an aunt. She was the one who introduced me to quilting as a child. One day quilting with my Mother would be the best gift I could receive.  I lost her at such a young age.  I know she would be so proud of my accomplisments in quilting.

I have another living quilter I would love to spend the day with, and that is Jenny Doan.  I have taken two of her Craftsy classes, and thoroughly enjoyed them.  She has such a common sense way of looking at a quilt and finding a way to assemble it easily, and she has such a great sense of humor.  She is so creative, and I think she would be a lot of fun.  If I could choose someone not living, it would be my Great Aunt Phyllis, who taught me how to sew when I was little.  I learned so much from her, but not quilting.  She made amazing crazy quilts from leftover fabrics, but she was so busy supporting her ill husband with custom sewing and baking when I was older that we never got around to quilting.  That would truly be a joyous thing.

I'd love to spend a day with Marilyn Badger.  Her machine quilting is so beautiful and so creative.

For one day? It would be BBF Joan. Met her in a quilter's chat room, became best friends, and flew from NM to IN to meet her. Stayed for a week and had a blast. Shopped. Sewed and and ate chocolate. Familiy issues prefented us from repeating our "two member only quilt retreat". Cancer took her away from me and her family. Oh to repeat this but then I do quilt with her in my heart every day.

Mercy-after reading some of the choices my head is spinning, any of the above would be a treat!!  But I think I would choose my great-grandmother.  I have two of her quilts, and I would love to hear the story of either.

I would have liked to quilt with my Great Grandmother. She passed away when I was in my teens and there is so much that I could have learned about this "folk art" form and it's traditions from her. A few of her quilts have survived and family members have them, unfortunately I didn't think about this when she was still alive. So much died with her that only she would have known.

I would love to have the opportunity to quilt with Debby Brown.  She is our local expert and has taught classes at the Quilt Basket in Wappingers Falls.  She is so inspirational, patient and precise and a wonderful teacher.

My Great Uncle Donald was the only boy of nine children.  Since all his sisters sat around and quilted, he felt he had not other option other than to join in.  I have (a most prized item) a quilt that he made entirely by himself.  He was so funny and sweet, i can only imagine what it would have been like to sit next to him and quilt.  I also have quilts from my grandmother (his sister) that are awesome too.  I can acutally imagine my grandmother telling him to be quiet and sew.  Only in my dreams though.....

I would like to turn back the clock and quilt with Lorraine Gray, a friend of my parents who passed away. I did not know she was an award-winning quilter until she was battling cancer for the second (and final) time.  I had the chance to see her quilts & her tiny sewing space where she created some beautiful keepsakes. I now have her old sewing machine and some of her stash, including blocks that never made it into quilt tops. It would be great to talk to her about what she intended to do with them.

I would like to quilt with my niece. She so wants to learn and we are separated by 300 miles. We are planing to try to get together this summer to help get her started.

I would love to have a day with my mother. My mother taught me how to garment sew at a very young age out of necessity. She had an amazing sense of color combination, spacial relationship, and design. It would be be so much fun to see what he intuitive and creative mind would have designed and made. It would be a true joy.

I never took up quilting till after she past on but I have a small picture of her that is rite beside my sewing machine. I would love to quilt with Mark Lipinski.  Half of the day would be laughing, and half quilting.  Well...maybe 3/4 of the time laughing, 1/4 quilting.  Well...7/8 laughing, 1/8 quilting?  Well...maybe I would have to learn how to sew and laugh at the same time!

I would quilt with my friend Alicia and our daughters! My little girl is itching to grow big enough to be able to sew and make things with mommy.

I would like to quilt with Jinny Beyer.  Finding someone who is as passionate as she is about hand quilting is rare and although I do quilt by hand it is always nice to see how others do it and you can improve your techniques.

I seem to be following in my mother's footsteps on the activities she did after she retired.  I now have time to really quilt.  I have started my sister on the quilting road last summer.  It would be wonderful if the three of us could all get together and quilt for a day.

Since my Grandmother has passed on I would love to spend a day quilting with my best friend Diane. She is the one who has inspired me to get into quilting and has been there for me every time I get "stuck".

I would quilt with my friend Candy who lives on the other side of the country.  She's been quilting for eons, and I just started.  I know I could learn so much from her, and we would have such a good time!!

If I could quilt with one person for a day it would have to be Sharon Schamber...I would want to know how she dreams up these award winning quilts, and how she is motivated each day to work on the same quilt. It would a dream come true if I could actually just be in her presence.

If I could quilt with anyone, it would be with my Mother and unfornuately, she was only able to make one quilt before she died of ovarian cancer.    She never got to see any of my children, her grandchildren, and I know she would have loved to make a quilt for all (6) of them.  

I would have a hard time deciding,  I love Diane Gaudynski and her fun ways of quilting.  Then I guess it would be  Elanor Burns.  That would be a day full of fun,laughing and learning.  

I would love to spend the day learning from Carol Breyer-Fallert in a workshop in her her studio to learn color and shape blending.

I'd spend day quilting with my Great Grand Parents.  Wish I knew they both quilted when I was little.

I would quilt with Georgia Bonesteel.  I took a one-day class with her 30 plus years ago, had fun, learned alot, and was inspired.

I would quilt with marianne and Liz........they are my favorites and Mary would be fun too!  I learned to quilt by watching them. The other one would  be my sisters

I would love to quilt with my 13 year old daughter to pass the craft on to her.

That is easy I would be my mother!  I live in Ut and she in NC and it is a treat when we are able to spend time together

My mother was an extraordinary seamstress who taught my sister and I to sew.  She passed away 6 years ago.  I wish my sister and I could return to the time where the three of us sewed together and spend the day working on a project.

I would have to choose my grandmother.  I actually never knew she was a quilter until after she passed away.  She and her sisters made quilts which share feedsack fabrics.  She taught  me to knit and crochet (and play Canasta!), but we never discussed quilts.

I would choose Libby Lehman because she is a barrel of fun and full of tips and great ideas for quilts.  I had the pleasure of taking a weekend seminar with her and it was the best money I ever spent for such an event.  

I would love to sew  with judy neimeyer. love paper piecing,I get the point.

I think it would have to be Bonnie Hunter.  I love scrappy quilts and using every last bit of fabric I can and this is her specialty.  Plus, she seems like she'd be a lot of fun to be around judging by her blog.

I would love to quilt with Mark Lipinski!!  I met him once at a quilt show and he was so funny!!  I love his patterns, fabric and view of the world.

As I can,t quilt with my grandmother or mother--it would have to be Carol Doaks. I love her quilts and would like the chance to learn even more from her.

Oh My Goodness!!  I couldn't decide.  I would want a large hall with all the wonderful people and teachers I have met who have contributed time and talent to charity quilting with me and have been so kind to share their talents and tricks of the trade.  Lots of food, fun, and sharing of good thoughts all day.  Everyone welcome!!!

If I could spend the day quilting with anyone that I wish...I would spend the day with my "new best friend". We would plan, cut, piece, and quilt miniature quilts for 18" dolls. We would even work on quilts for 1:12" miniature rooms. My friend would share my desire to make a pieced quilt that would fit inside a pocket watch case (Yes! I will do this one day soon!)

BTY..you may want to know the name of my friend...and I will tell you...as soon as I meet her (or him).

I know alot of women who quilt, but none of them share my love of miniature quilts (they say that the small quilts are too difficult.)   So sad.. :(

I would love to be able to quilt one day with my grandmother, but she is gone, so if I could, I would.

She used to do machine and hand quilting and made crazy quilts from my grandfather's wool pants.

It would be my mother.  She didn't quilt but she was amazing company.  She always loved watching the fabric combinations put together.  I miss here since she has passed on.

I would love to quilt with Shirley Brinkman. she has even taught me how. she used to own Edelwiess needle work chalet in pagosa springs, CO. but now it is a hot dog shop

I would love to quilt for a day with Carolyn Beam because she is so creative and seems to really enjoy pushing the limit with  her chopping blocks.  I also love to sew with my little grand daughter, who at age 5 was sewing her own pair of beautiful pajama pants.  Now at age 10 she is getting very creative in making little quilt tops.

I'm  always hopeful that Santa (or the Easter Bunny, my Fairy Godmother, etc)  will send me to work with Judy Niemeyer or Jacqueline de Jonge.  Their work is amazing, and I would love to see how they formulate their quilts.

I would love to quilt with my great grandmother, Anna.  She was sooo good in everything she did, from canning her own veggies to making lace.  She was very talented. I was too young to appreciate her before she passed away.  I have one of her quilts that I treasure.
