I would want to be bright, bold and very dramatic.  I would want to make a statement, stand out in a crowd, no mousy wishy-washy colors for me!

I would be vintage fabric, well worn, classic quilt pattern, with a  bright background fabric like robins egg blue or sunshine yellow to show that I keep trucking along calmly, but get heated when I need to.  I would be probably be found hanging out on the clothesline, soaking up the sunshine and the country breeze, finally away from all the city smells.

I most likely would be unfinished, collection of scraps, some squares beautiful and some ugly, some with uneven seams and coming undone. Absolutely nothing squared on what has been done but showing promise and warmth when complete.

I would be an antique quilt.  I have always felt like  I was born in the wrong century.   Probably early 1800's to post Civil War era.  So I might be a Civil War era quilt, possibly even an Runaway Quilt!!

I would be brightly colored and would have solids mixed in with my prints.  I would be versatile. . .elegant or cozy country, depending on where I happen to be.

I would be a classic pattern made with new fabrics--not too bold but not too drab, either.

I would be made of bright scraps, and some odd fabrics, too. I naturally have my lights and darks, and I would wear well. Be especially good with children whether they needed me as a sick blanket, or for making a fort. I have been washed alot, and used alot. Definitely a utility quilt that has done its job in hugging and sharing.

I would be a quilt made with loving and caring hands; to be a part of someone's life that is dealing with hardship whether it be physical or emotional . I would want to offer comfort , knowing someone loved them.

I would be a geometric classic  quit of some kind. I would be made of fall colors that defiantly has a paisley print of some sort incorporated in me.  I would be well used to help keep the chill off a fall afternoon.

If I were a quilt, I'd be light, fresh and fairly float on the air.  I'd smell like laundry that just came in off the cloths line on a summer's day.  When people would see me they would know I was made with great Love and Care.  My colors would blend with an iridescent shimmer, shining so bright as to create a rainbow effect.  People would want to cover up with me because they'd know I felt like a warm hug; the cares of this world would slowly drop off them as the comfort of me as a quilt soothed and enveloped them in restful sleep.

That's what a quilt means to me.

If I were a quilt, I would lap sized, so I was snuggled up a lot. Hand made with loving hands.  Made with soft fabric, bright and cheerfully. Quilted with a group of fellow quilting friends, laughter, smiles, and just having fun making me, so all could enjoy.

I would be earthy colored with hints of bright blues and greens peeking out occasionally.  I would carry along the fun, laughter and camaraderie to share with you. that was shared when my group of friends got together to dream me up, cut the fabric to make me, put a warm lining in my middle and lovingly sew and quilt me.  I would be queen sized because we all know quilts are female and that is a fitting size for a fine lady quilt.  I would be your go to quilt for warmth, comfort, and sweet dreams. I would be "your" quilt~

If I were a quilt, I would be made of 100% cotton 1930's prints scrappy pattern, filled with a warm and natural  100% cotton batting, hand sewn, hand quilted, with built in serenity, love and warm hugs. I would be your best friend, I would take away your fears, keep you warm when you are cold, make you feel better when you were sick, and surround you with security. I would be lying at the foot of your bed so that if you needed me, I was available for a quick nap. I would comfort you any time, any where, and be whatever you needed me to be. I would curl up with you as you enjoyed a warm cup of tea, read your favorite book, or watch a movie. I would be available for snuggle time with your kids or Grandkids, neices or nephews. I would allow you to share me with your best friend when she has had a hard day or needs some special care, but I will always return to you because close to your heart is where I need to be.

If I were a quilt my colors would be warm, vibrant autumn hues to warm you as Fall approaches, miraculously changing to cheery reds, green, white and gold to herald the Holiday season, then transforming into soft, sweetly romantic floral pastels as gentle Spring gives a nod, and finally mimic skies of blue and white with sunshine yellow sprinkled through to lift you into Summer.  I would be a quilt for all seasons and I would serve best where needed most.

Hmmm... rumpled, definitely used. No "folded nicely and put on a shelf". Colors... well, there would be black in the background to bring all the other colors forward. Bright colors, Laurel Burch-type palette. Definitely a cat or cat fabric in there somewhere. Although I don't particularly like sampler quilts, I would probably be a sampler of all the different techniques I have tried and learned and used.

I would be a quilt of many fabrics, not necessarily many different colors, but scrappy 100% cottons.  I would not be queen or king sized, but just right for curling up with and reading a good book or watching TV.  I would  like to be comfy for a sick or tired person who needs a hug or smile.

In reality...I'd be pretty well worn....actually worn out! frayed edges, faded, holes needing repairs, etc. BUT, in my imagination, I would probably be a bold, colorful, eyecatching, award winning design, with a bit of sparkle, and VERY well made.

If I were a quilt I would be made from batiks in earth tones with shades of brown and tans accented with burnt orange, dark reds and golds. My pattern would be simple yet striking and I would be on a bed or on the couch in the LR where I am well loved and used.  Because I have been created with loving hands in earth tones people are comforted with my touch and presence. I get pleasure in the warm secure feeing people get when they are wrapped in my love.

"If" I were a quilt?! I feel I AM a quilt! I want nothing more than to keep my loved ones warm and happy.

I try to offer whatever comfort is needed for those that come to me. Made of traditional blocks of varying

colors: some modern twists can be found throughout my make up. I am not well-traveled, but still quite

worn. Because I enjoy entertaining different views and opinions, I am quite scrappy, made from the collected thoughts and ideas saved from a lifetime of people I have met and books I have read. I love

quilts so much that I have turned into one!

I would definitely be well worn and used.  My colors would be faded, but they would be bright.  I would have been used by my spouse, children and grandchildren when ill or watching TV.  I'm a stay at home type of quilt.  I don't like to leave the house except when I'm drying on the line.

I would be well worn, patchwork with reproduction prints of days of long ago.  I would be in the family room ready to wrap around my loved ones and that includes my fur baby, Shadow.  I'd stay at home and only go out to dry on the line in glorious Colorado sunshine.

If I were a quilt, it would be a very complicated design that I could only dream of making.  As a beginner who taught herself to sew and quilt in my mid-sixties, I'm always trying something more difficult than I am capable of making--so I would be a kaleidoscope or a complicated crazy quilt of some kind.

If I were a quilt, I'd be a Christmas quilt filled with redwork Father Christmas figures. I love doing embroidery and I love holiday fabrics (see my stash and you'll understand). My redwork would be sashed with a snowflake print and then I'd have several borders using  all the rest of those luscious fabrics I'm collecting!

I would have soft colors in the center and a big heart surrounded by very bold colors.  The borders me would carry pictures of my husband, dog, kids and grandkids.  My border would have to be a little rough around the edges--well worn, well used, well loved.  That's me!

If I were a quilt I would be bright bold colors, with a touch of  pink & purple. The bright colors for my outgoing personality, the pink for my breast cancer & purple was the favorite color of the daughter I lost. I would be pieced in a definite pattern as I am teased about be a perfectionist. One area of the quilt would be very worn from holding my beloved grandchildren.

If I were a quilt I would be traditional because I want people to know what to expect when they are with me.  I would be well worn because I like to interact with people, show people I care and give lots of warm feelings as I wrap myself around them.  I also like to help loved ones celebrate life so I want to be used often as a tent over a table for little ones, as a picnic blanket, as that special quilt that gets wrapped around you by the campfire.

If I were a quilt I would need to bright and colorful. It would need to have some unique design or uncommon theme. Like steampunk or neo-victorian. And it would need to be big to be able to wrap up in. And well used, not a wall hanging quilt.

A scrappy quilt like the ones my grandma use to make & I would sit with her cutting up our old clothes and organize the various shapes by color...  Some of my happiest memories.  No wonder I didn't hesitate to make my own quilt while in high school.  A prized possession is her quilt hoop on which I quilted my first quilt with Grandma's guidance.  My mother bought it for her when at eighteen she started her first job.  My mom used it on the quilts for my children & now I use it to quilt for my grandchildren.  Luckily my sisters felt I should have it.  When ever I use it, it reminds me how lucky I am to come from such a loving & caring family!!

Aloha,

Lynn

If I were a quilt, I'd be soft and cozy for long nights on the couch with my family while watching movies, eating pop corn. If I were a quilt, I would have been used as a tent across some chairs for children to play under. If I were a quilt, the dog would get caught sleeping on me at every opportunity he finds. If I were a quilt, I'd be the first thing offered to an honored guest sleeping over. If I were a quilt, I'd be found showing off my colors and pattern at a guild meeting or a quilt show. If I were a quilt, I would be a gift to a homeless child in a shelter so he or she would feel safe. All this and more I would be, if I were a quilt.

If I were a quilt, I'd adorn the beautiful colors of my country, Red, White, and Blue.  I would be quilted by a thoughful member of the quilting guild.  You, see, she put tender loving care into every stitch until it was ready for it's new owner.  And that would be a dedicated patriart of our forces, who was just wounded and in a hospital somewhere, getting healed.  I'd wrap myself aroung this souldier and tell him or her that everything will be alright.  Today after getting all the IV's put in, I'd wrap myself around them and give them warmth and loving care, and let them know they will be alright.  I'd want to be a big part of their healing, just to hold them, comfort them and love them to pieces .....(Pieces sewn with lots and lots of love, and to bring warmth and comfort).  and someday be hanging on their wall in their own home safe and sound.

If I were a quilt I would be a scrappy, of many colors, well made, of the best cottons and would last and last and last.  I would be a classic pattern and a little worn around the edges.  I would be with one of my children and their children for a very, very  long time.  I would remind them of 'Mom' or 'Gramma' and how much she loved them. I would be a comfort to them and wrap myself around them and love them for as long as I would last.

If I were a quilt, I would be well worn, of a simple classic pattern such as log cabin.  The colors would be subdued:  brown, blues, rust, and dusty rose; with bright sunny yellows for accent.  I would be covered with cat and dog hair; edges frayed, with a few places chewed by puppies or torn by children, but carefully mended.  I would be found wherever the family gathers; draped accross the couch in the family room, as a picnic cloth for outdoor gatherings, wrapped around a sick child.

If I were a quilt . . . I would be a sunrise with the morning rays being all different applique and fabric painted designs, the sun being black and white photos of my family and friends on yellow fabric, and the horizon being made up of novelty fabrics.  Even though I have been quilting for over ten years all the quilts that I have made generally use novelty fabrics.  My quilts are usually made for family, friends, and friend's children.  I strive to expand my quilting repertoire into applique and fabric painted.  The sunrise symbolizes my desire to make more creative quilts in the future.

If I were a quilt, I would be soft, warm, and snuggly but I would also be a sampler because there are so many different things I like and am interested in. One block or quilt pattern could not show who I really am. I am a wife, mom, grandmother, student, teacher, learner. I donate time, money and energy because giving makes not just me happy but the ones who receive unexpected gifts. A quilt will last for generations when cherished and taken care of. I cherish my famiy and friends and the quilts are only a small token of this love. You can never have too many quilts! Or family or friends.

I would be an art quilt.  People would look at me, not knowing exactly what I was all about, but if they focus on certain areas, the image would become clear to them. If I were viewed at one angle, I would look like one thing, but if the viewer would move their location and take a look at me, I would appear differently.  I would be made out of a variety of fabrics or repurposed items, some not so common to traditional quilting, but unusal materials attached to a good base.  Paint, inks, glitter, paper, crayons, buttons, felt tip markers and beads would be some of the items either attached to me or used on me to make the picture complete. I would also not ever be totally complete but continually changing and growing.

If I were a quilt I would be a charm quilt. Everything I know about life, love, spirituality....well everything...came from so many different sources. Every person I've ever met has taught me something--sometimes something positive, sometimes not. Every place I've been to, every book I've read, every aspect of my world has brought me to the person I am today. A conglomeration of all things. A little wiser and more comfortable with myself with each passing year. My favorite place to be would be on a child's bed, a "charm," if you will, to keep the monsters at bay and keep that child safe and warm.

I would be a bold and bright well worn quilt.  I would choose to be a lap quilt either for a child or an adult.  I like snuggling to my loved ones, hugging them and giving them kisses just like the lap quilt.  I believe a lap quilt given in love symbolizes bold and brightness and being well worn.  It also envelopes the receiver in love each and every night or day they use it when they are cold, alone or scared as a means of comfort from a loved one saying we love you.  This is the type of person I am and so therefore this is the type of quilt I would be if I was to be a quilt.

I would strive to pass on the feelings of fun and love that went into my making. Cats and kids are welcomed to nap and play. I would hope that all the good times I was part of result in signs of wear.  Please don't keep me folded up in some safe place. Use me and enjoy me, and let me bring comfort and warm feelings.

...and I would be browns, from ecru to espresso.  Browns speak of being grounded, of being a strong base from which to build and explore.

If I were a quilt, I would have arches and swirls.  The journey through life should never be a straight line.

It I were a quilt, I would be on the couch, not hung on a wall.  I would wrap myself around those I love and keep them warm on a chilly night.  I would provide comfort when sorrows overwhelm...and be a cape when imagination reigns.

If I were a quilt....

If I were a quilt I would be a sampler made with both cotton and silks in warm winter colors with just a touch of light for contrast. Some blocks would be very precise and well put together, others would be crazy patch made with decorative stitches over the top. The sashing would be narrow or maybe even nonexistent because each block would almost seem to blend into the next.

If I were a quilt, I would be a well loved, well worn cotton crazy quilt. A bit wrinkled -from all the washing and drying, a bit stained and tattered from all the adventures I have been on. I would be made of pieces of favorite dresses and shirts, pieces of fabrics that needed a home and pieces of fabric lovingly selected. I would have feather stitching and zigzags, scallops and satin stitches, tentative hand embrodriery stitches from little ones just learning to hold a needle. Not perfect but loved!

If a were a quilt, I would be made of lots of old, but vibrant colors which would be used for making statues, and would have as many Presidents faces like Mount Rushmore, and I would finish up with signatures on my back which tells of all the wonderful things I did while I was President.  For those

Presidents who did not make much of statement or leave a legacy, unfortunately would be hanging out back on the ledge so to speak.

I would be a "Crazy Quilt" because there are so many types of things I like to do and I never know which way I am going next.  I crochet, knit, make jewelry, embroidery, work with clay, sew of course, made things with wood, floral arranging, Temari, and just about anything I see and like I will want to try it.  So yes a crazy quilt for me because there is so much interest in one with so many different things to see.

Thank goodness for an understanding hubby ~.^

If I were a quilt I would be soft and warm, and the fabrics would be scrappy but pastel - nothing that stands out, but only blends pleasingly. My seams would be good but not perfect. I'd be pieced with a little applique thrown in - all traditional patterns. There would be flaws, but no one would be afraid to hug me.

If I were a quilt, I'd have a lot of sharp angles and straight lines, maybe a star. I'd be tied to my roots, so maybe a Lomoni Star. I'd be batiks, so mostly solid with some wavering. I'd be bright and cheery, so maybe pinks and greens- very different. But I'd have some raw edge applique as I'm always on the fray.

If I were a quilt, I would be king sized, 30's fabrics (hopefully the original, not the reproductions), in a very traditional pieced and/or appliqued pattern.  I think of myself as a dresden plate with a flying geese border, soft colors, a soft and comforting feel to me, well worn, but sturdy (kind of like the quilt I own from 1935 that was made by my great grandmother).  I would want to be the type of quilt that my friends and family want to touch and ooh and aah over and say "if only I were able to make a quilt like that".

If I were a quilt I would have started out with one idea, probably taken from something that I saw, and then throughout the construction process, I would have morphed into something quite unique. Most likely I would have lots of rich blues, reds, and browns, and maybe even some bright greens and yellows. Whatever I would look like, I would have arrived that way through trial and error, the same way that I have arrived where I am today.

Machine pieced or hand appliqued and hand quilted. I would have a simple, but complex pattern that keeps changing according to your perspective and the way you look at me. I think I would be a classic quilt, well worn.. I love to read about quilts in stories and the women that made them.. Perhaps on the prairie and around the civil war. I would love it if quilts, in those times, could talk.. I wonder what they would say? All quilts seem to have a story to tell. I look at old antique quilts and often wonder about the story behind them. The love and warmth they gave to people. They may be stained and worn out, but you can only imagine the story of the women that made them and the story behind them.

If I were a quilt it would be the way I remember it when I was able to equalize at 30-45 feet with my scuba gear on a coral reef. The pale blues, greens and browns would represent the decreasing depth of the water but occasional sunbeams would filter down from the surface. Fans and soft corals would wave gently in the water while fish such as black and white sergeant majors, tiny bright blue tangs, a lazy parrot fish and the nose of a hiding grouper would be represented by colorful fabrics and machine applique. The top of my breathing tube and edge of my mask would show in the lower left corner of my quilt. A lot of fussy-cutting and machine applique will be required throughout the quilt. It will go on a wall with some of my underwater photographs.

If I were a quilt I'd be bright blues, teals, wine, purples with a dash of red and yellow and alot of Black like the amish quilts. I'd be slightly worn but well taken care of, grabbed when ever someone was excited, sad, lonely, or just want the comfort of a quilt.  Warm, inviting, always there. Solid, funcitonal, and decorative.  Homey yet exotic.    That's me!

My quilt personality would be represented as a classic pattern made in a contemporary style with some stars to show that I was always striving to be better than I am.

I would be in bright colors, all scrappy fabrics to show that I am a person with a positive outlook and have diversity in many areas: ancestry, emotions, personal history, education, friends and interests.

I would have a appropriately sized border in a medium shade that would show  that I am held together but not rigid in my thoughts.

Most of all I would be loved, not because I am the most outstanding in a crowd of many but because I provide warmth and security to those most in need.

I'd be a scrap quilt, lap size to be sure.  Colors from brights to civil war will share in one of many designs.  The back would be as interesting as the front - no plain jane backs for me.

A quilt of many colors (autumn - bright colors), made from a beautiful design that looks complicated but is easy to make.  The back side of me would be solid in a very soft cotton fabric with interesting quilting showing on the back.  Everyone would look at me and tell me how beautiful I am and how happy they are to see me. I would be hugging a loved one, keeping them warm with all the love that makes me up.

I think I'd be an Antique quilt ...  from the Civil War era, or a quilt made by a Pioneer woman for her family, living on the Midwest plains.  When I see quilts from those eras, I feel a very strong connection to them.  My mother's ancestors did live and farm in Kansas, maybe that's why !

I would be bright and scrappy, a real eye-catcher.  My owner would take me everywhere as they could not bear to be apart from me. But my underside would be of the softest, cushiest flannel, so I would be the best hugger in the world!

I am a real man's quilt--flannel and scrappy in earth tones--but beautiful enough for a woman to admire.  My warm, comfortable colors remind everyone of times gone by.  You know, that fishing trip, or camping trip in the mountains or time with grandma and grandpa.  Memories.  Isn't that what quilts are all about?

Frayed around the edges from being well-used.  I would be every color under the sun, because the fabric would be whatever was on hand at the time....pieces of dresses, shirts, feed sacks, you name it.  Sometimes the seams wouldn't all come together like they should (Horrors!), but I would still be warm, because in the end, isn't that what quilts (and people) are really for?

If I were a quilt I'd be red, white, and blue! The colors that represent the greatest country in the world!... So I guess the quilt would also have to be classified as "country-style". In the center of the quilt, I'd have a focus point of the Bible, God's word, to point all who see it that we should keep God, the true God of all creation, the focal point of our lives! God Bless our military, God Bless the U.S.A.!

If I were a quilt I want to be the ABC quilt that my mom made in 1966. It was made with loving hands by a group of 10 women who were to become my inspiration for being a quilter.  I was a little 5 year old girl who sat under a quilt tent while these lovely ladies hand quilted my quilt for starting school. I would have embroidered b lockeds stitched with love. Thats who i would be

I think I were a quilt, I would be a once bright floral, with big generous cabbage roses, but now faded and somewhat worn due to lots of use. I would have given as a wedding present and being handed down from mother to daughter to grandaughter. I would have weathered and comforted many an emotional storm or two, been there for the joy of new life when a first child was brought home, brought comfort during illness and gentle rest to those going to their finally rest.  I would be a part of a family's history.

I couldn't just be one quilt, I would have to be all the little quilts, the ones made out of soft cuddly flannelette. These would be wrapped around all the babies in the neo-natal units in all the hospitals. Can you just imagine them all in pastel colors, pink ,blue, green, yellow, and lilac wrapped around the babies keeping them warm, safe, giving them love when they don't have anyone. I could cuddle the babies when they are sick or just need comfort. To be there at the start of their lives, then maybe you never know to be handed down to the next generation. I could be the quilt thats been around forever and then some. Wishful thinking

If I were a quilt, I would be bright and sassy, or I might be subtle pastels, or maybe wonderful batiks.  I might be scrappy so I don't waste any fabric; flowers to look like my garden; black and white with some red to make it bold.  Or I might make it purple/black/white, which my granddaughter wants for her college quilt, and which I am now making.

If I were a quilt, I would be a scrappy quilt made of old clothing and leftover material from previous projects, done up in traditional quilting patterns.  I would be on the couch to warm and comfort those snuggling in me.  The varying materials would lead to talks down memory lane and little anecdotes about the people who wore the varying materials.  I would be a sort of history wrapped up in warmth and caring.

If I were a quilt I would be random and bright. I would be all that my mind could contain and see in an instant. I would show some wear of life but yet still have a look of distinction.  I would be bold with color but classic still with a look of humility.  If I were a quilt I would be comfortable to be in any space at any time. I would be okay on the ground, the floor, on the back of a posh couch or on a bed. When people look at me  and feel me they feel comfortable, welcomed, honored and relaxed and loved.

If I were a quilt, I would be small enough to be portable but large enough to provide comfort and warmth. I would be well worn and washable because life sometimes gets dirty. I would be filled with every color in the rainbow including lots of my favorites: purple and blue. Your eye would be drawn to bits of black for the sadness I've experienced and bits of white for the knowledge and wisdom I've gained.  There would be lots of little pieces in my square Ohio Stars but some sections that would be round and soft. Cuddled inside you would see my children and grandchildren and all the people I love!

I would be a beautiful, yet scrappy, traditional applique quilt, reflective of the nation that came together to support one another on 9/11.  We seem to have lost that collective spirit that brought us together, and now appear to be a divisive nation more intent on being right than being a union.  Quilts are a collection of pieces that often seem disparate, yet when combined can create a beautiful symbol of what is possible when we work together; so in my mind I want to be a national treasure quilt to remind us of our better angels.  At our core, I choose to believe that is who we are.

If I were a quilt I would hope that I would be very, very worn- obviously loved and carried around from place to place over the years- used proudly on the bed when new and then for picnics and as a cover for kids watching TV in the evening and as a tent in the back yard in the spring- as for color and pattern I would probably be scappy- a little of everything garnered from Mom's scrap basket that she collected from projects that she made.

If I were a quilt.........I would be a reflection of the loves and joys of whom ever embraced me.  An animal lover would find me covered with their favorite resting in some blocks, coverting at play in others.  Grandparents would find their grandchildren peeking at them from stars and 9 patches. Music lovers would see their favorite instruments, reflections of their most loved pieces, or their number one group/singer sliding across log cabin blocks.  Children would find their cherished toys in an I Spy quilt or play games on a 25 patch  checkerboard with a smail trail on the back.  And every one would see the blessings of God radiating from a bargello quilt.
