It's beginning to look a lot like ... Iowa

Iowa is notorious for unpredictable weather, and so far, this winter is one of the most unpredictable ones we have seen for years. There was snow in early October, nothing in November, and then we got buried last week in well over a foot of snow. But, this is Iowa, we love it and wouldn't change a thing - or too many things, maybe not so much snow and ice, or temps below zero, and skipping the whole January through March thing would be great. You could go right from a beautiful snowy Christmas to April's warming showers and May's happy flowers. That would be nice, won't happen, but that would be nice. So for now, we'll just have to best Mother Nature by making more quilts to keep our family toasty throughout the inevitable blustery season. And what better way to pass the season than by creating an heirloom quilt for generations to come. What a comfort to know that years from now your grandchildren can snuggle in that same quilt and while away the Iowa winters ... and they probably won't want to change a thing.

stay warm,

Cinde

Yep...I'm in Council Bluffs.  At least we are guaranteed a white Christmas.  And with the forecast for this week, we may have more of a white Christmas than we want.

I hear ya.  I live in New Hampton, Iowa.  I would be happy with the snow we have now so my kids can drive here for Christmas.  But we will have to wait and see.  Just hope it stays snow and skips the freezing rain and sleet.  I better dig out some more flannel to back another quilt.

Merry Christmas to everyone!
