It's the Biker Dude II!

What are the odds that another Biker Dude would walk through the doors less than 24 hours after the other Biker Dude had roared out of town. But, last Friday we were hastened to the shop to meet Dennis Joynt and his wife Lynn from Wichita, Kansas. Somehow, the conversation had come up in the shop about bikes and Dennis had jumped in to describe his beloved Honda GoldWing. He also mentioned that his sister affectionately calls him 'Big Brother Biker Dude'. And of course Dennis loves to quilt, mostly wallhangings, and was 'chomp'n' at the bit to start a new project.

Dennis and Lynn travel a lot (Lynn is a Kansas State auditor), and since Dennis is retired, he travels with her and enjoys the site-seeing and shopping opportunities along the way. "I figure if she has to work, at least someone should have some fun," he laughed. As Lynn picks out several new fabrics, she shoots him a wry grin and says she gets to retire soon too, so he won't be able to hog the sewing machine that much longer.

My daughter might be able to work on your harley - she just graduated from the school out in Arizona - she did very well... although I don't think she will be working in a shop anytime soon  - a grandchild is due in late Feb early Mar.

God bless your riding and quilting,

Ha!  That's pretty good!  I have a friend who owns a quilt shop here in SD and she said just today that it will pretty busy around her shop all next week.  That's mainly because of all the bikers that are in the area for the Black Hills Motorcycle Rally.  I was surprised when she said that she gets a bunch of biker traffic, but, your picture just proves it now!

I think it is great that there are so many men quilting.  I would like to see some of what the two biker dudes have been sewing. Maybe they will stop back with pictures or projects. :)

It is Sturgis time of the year and you are in Iowa (on the way from Kansas) so not so surprising.  I only say this because I bought a Harley for my husband a year ago so he would have something to do so I could quilt but the plan backfired on me.  I love the bike and now ride quite a bit.  We haven't ventured out for a long road trip but I've already joked about getting saddlebags to hold my fabric...or a cart to pull behind!  We'll be stopping at all the quilt shops along the way.
