In the age of digital, online, and electronic...everything, it's nice to have a concrete, solid piece of reading to hold in your hands. I will never get tired of opening my mailbox and finding a new magazine. Flipping through the pages, dog-earring what catches my eye; you can't do that on your computer. I recently experienced this sheer joy when the new issue of Love of Quilting arrived. Here are the projects that caught my eye:
I believe I've mentioned this before, but I get the pleasure of seeing the quilts that will be in all our publications when they first arrive at the office. After they've been photographed and published, I also send them back to the designers. This is one that I remember coming in and being in awe of. And it was one that I was sad to pack up and say goodbye to (you form relationships with the quilts in the office!) I am not much of a pink gal, but that's the beauty of quilting: you can do whatever you want! Tanya Finken, the designer, made a knockout with this quilt.
The scalloped edges and modern prints got me with this quilt. Nina, the designer and Quilt Star for this issue, really nailed it with the backing. You can see it peek through on this picture. I love the light green floral detail.
The big reveal for Disney's Frozen quilt, Sisterly Love, was in this issue. And it was a hit. Fons & Porter is now offering a digital pattern for the quilt or a quilt kit for purchase. Either way, it just doesn't get sweeter than this quilt.
Those are my favorites from this issue. Now I want to hear: what are yours?
