The Weekly Round Up

There has been an abundance of activity going on at QCA. Fresh faces, new forums, lots of quilting questions, and new, exciting developments on the site. I don't want anyone to miss out on what's going on, so I put together a weekly round-up for you to enjoy!

First up, Pat Sloan is our first featured Q&A with a QCA Quilt Star. From August 10th to August 17th, Pat Sloan will be logging onto QCA to personally answer your quilting questions throughout the week. Please note the forum can be found on the top red navigation bar. I will open it bright and early on August 10th so you can begin posting. Remember, this is for Premium Members on QCA.

Next, the mystery quilt. The mystery quilt is still alive and well! This will begin in September. So get all those UFO's finished to clear your quilting schedule for the mystery quilt!

Thirdly, Sulky is offering a three month course for quilters, sewers, and teachers alike. Throughout this course you will be learning how to be a Sulky certified teacher. You will also learn over 65 thread art techniques. This is a great online course, but it has a limited number of seats, and they are filling up fast! QCA Premium Members- you can get $100 off the course fee. Check out the Deals & Discounts page for the coupon code to enter at checkout. Much more information about the course can be found on my previous blog post as well as on the course registration page. It can't hurt to just read about it!

Fourth, I am LOVING how many quilts are posted on the Show & Tell Page. It's become part of my morning routine to check out what is new on the page. Keep them coming-because it brings me such joy!

And last, but certainly not least, I'm going to be an aunt!!!!! I'm not for sure if I'm too excited about this. I have my dog-nephew, Jager, who is my running buddy and I love dearly, but he is not human, and he is not a tiny ball of baby fat. This is the first baby in our family, and we are all going crazy. This child already has enough clothes to last a lifetime.

Naturally, my first thought when I found out I was going to be an aunt was, "This child is going to need a baby quilt!" But after further research, I discovered baby quilts were quite overwhelming. The fabric, the patterns, if it's a boy or girl, pleasing the was too much. I nearly had a melt down from the excitement of being an aunt and being overwhelmed from looking at baby quilts.

Being the organized and list-y person I am, I made an adorable baby quilts infogram. Look at it for nothing else than squealing with joy at the adorable baby pictures and icons. I complied all sorts of baby fabrics, prints, play mat patterns, quilt kits, and quilt patterns. They are all baby. Enjoy! (Click on the image below to take you to the actual chart.)

I think that about covers it! Enjoy the weekend quilters-and the warm weather! I will be traveling to my parents' home (in the boonies) where I'm sure many fires will be had and a few S'mores, too!

Happy Days & Happy Quilting,

QCA Rachel
