Did you know that we have less than six months until Christmas? I know, this is a very scary thought. I need to get my shopping list ready! What if Christmas was in July? There would be no cancelled flights due to a snow storm. We could barbeque outside and play sand volleyball. Presents would be underneath a palm tree. How wonderful would that be?
Our friends at Quiltmaker Magazine are making this vision a reality...somewhat.
Here's how it works:
1. Make a free account on Quiltmaker Magazine
2. Correctly answer questions about their sponsors. They share a lot of sponsors with QCA such as Guidelines 4 Quilting, Moda, Connecting Threads, and Timeless Treasures.
3. Wait to see if you are one of eight lucky winners to receive a holiday themed quilt top, backing and binding. Additionally these eight winners will receive a prize package with lots of goodies from Quiltmaker's sponsors. The entire package of prizes is valued at over $550.
Don't you love Christmas in July?? Tis the season of giving-and receiving free goodies!
A bit from my trip...
I'm a writer at heart and love to share some of my personal experience with you all. I think it lightens things up!
This past week, I made a flying trip to Colorado and back. I lived in Colorado for about a year, Boulder to be exact. When I lived there, I did a lot of hiking, climbing-all the typical Colorado things. But on this recent visit, I did something that was just breath taking. Mt. Evans is a peak that stands just over 14,000 feet tall. The drive up includes narrow roads, drop offs with nothing but rocky mountains below you, and views that make your eyes go wider by the second because of the natural beauty you are surrounded by. After I got over my fear of our car falling off the side of the mountain, I stared in wonder out the window for the whole trek.
When we finally got to the top, I felt like I was on top of the world. I don't think my words could describe it. And then I cried. Yep, I cried because the scenery was so beautiful, and I was standing there with my father experiencing it. I tried to pass it off as allergies, but no one seemed to believe me! That moment right there, was my Christmas in July.
Also, there were mountain goats. As an Iowan, my dad was fascinated by this "wildlife." Apparently I was too enthralled by my phone to notice them...
