Good Morning Quilters!
I hope your Friday is filled with sunshine, happiness, and lots of quilting. I find myself in an especially good mood, because tomorrow is officially the first day of summer! This means three things to me:
1. It's wedding season. I love a good wedding. The decor, the dress, the emotions; I just cannot get enough of it. In fact, tomorrow I have a wedding to go to.
2. Late nights. I think my favorite part of summer is that the sun stays up late. I can sit out on my deck, listening to some nice jazz music, surrounded by my friends and family. It doesn't get much better than that.
3. Travel. Road trips, plane trips, short trips, long trips. (Do I sound like Dr. Seuss?) But this year, due to my responsibilities (ahem, working...) I will only be taking a short vacation. I will be going to Colorado for a few days. I used to live in Boulder, and the opportunity arose for a short visit. I've been itching to go back to the food, mountains, breweries, and fresh air. Shout out to all the Coloradans out there-you are living the life!
On to quilting matters...
I am very pleased, ladies and gentlemen, to announce...we have.... A MYSTERY QUILT!
I absolutely despise writing in all caps, and as a journalism degree holder, it has been forced into my brain to never do it. However, this is a super exciting matter and deserves all caps. A MYSTERY QUILT!
Your very own tnmtgrl (aka Jennifer) has designed a mystery quilt that will begin in September. A big kudos to her as she has designed an amazing quilt along with instructions. I have my special elves, or sewing specialists at the office, making an "official" pattern so I can give out the instructions on a week by week basis. Hold on to your hats quilters, because this is my first mystery quilt, and I am going to do my best to make sure every quilter participates! I'm imagining lots of sharing, progress reports, pictures, galleries. It's going to be pure quilting glory.
Look out for more updates as September rolls closer.
A tedious matter
I am very aware of the non-existent printing function for Premium QCA members to print patterns from the digital issues of Easy Quilts. I can assure you this function is being examined very closely and discussed with tech and development. If you are a premium member and are not receiving the print copy of EQ, please contact customer service, as this is part of your membership.
A broken record
I know this is the 7,428th time I have mentioned our other social media sites, but I want every quilting community to be readily available to you. Pinterest goes hand in hand with quilting. And I spend time every day looking through what our sponsors and other quilting brands have pinned to deliver top notch stuff to you. Also, I'm quite a foodie, and pin way too much food than I should.
Just look at this gorgeous quilt I found and pinned!
For you Tweeters out there, QCA has a Twitter account. We are putting up new stuff every day and sharing a lot of what work you put up on this site on to Twitter. Tweet Tweet!
And last, but certainly not least, good old Facebook. Our weekly Show & Tell Spotlight has taken off and it's only going to get better. Look there for videos, pictures, touching stories; it's everything you will ever want!
